I booked tyres online for 25 February, dutifully handed over my email and phone number, and arrived on time like a responsible adult. In return, I was informed the garage was being refurbished and sent on a small pilgrimage to the National Tyre branch nearby. They, in turn, could only tell me my appointment had been magically moved to 2pm on the 28th. No email. No text. Not even a carrier pigeon.
I returned on the 28th, clinging to the faint hope that communication might have improved. Instead, I was greeted with a two‑hour wait I had never been told about. At this point, the only thing more absent than information was accountability.
Enter Dillon, the reception manager, whose customer‑service skills have all the sparkle and charm of the puppet from The Magic Roundabout. He managed to be both unsympathetic and arrogant, which is quite a feat for someone offering no actual service.
I cancelled the order on the spot. And as a bonus note, Halfords: your website and your offshore help desk are a masterclass in how not to design a customer journey.
Yeovil branch - I got the tyre plugged as requested, however my expensive sunglasses that were in the glovebox were not there I got in the car to drive away. Firstly the mechanic who fixed it came out as I started my vehicle, I went to the glovebox and my glasses were gone at this point the mechanic returned inside the workshop. I explained to the manager my glasses were missing and he assured me he trusted his mechanics, I asked to check around the workshop just in case, he refused and said again he trusted his mechanics. The mechanic came out and stated he didn’t even open the glovebox as he knew where the locking wheel nut key would be. I didn’t catch it on the dash cam but you can clearly hear a shuffling of the sweets i keep in the glovebox. Therefore if you use this company, i would suggest removing anything of value, I contacted head office and they gave me a courtesy call but no after action, i will not use them again.
After ordering and paying for tyres nearly a week in advance, arrived 30 minutes before my appointment time and was told there would be a delay as only one technician in, I said ok no worries I'll leave it longer than the hour quoted and said I'd be back in 2 hours .
I arrived back nearly 2 and a half hours later to find my car still unmoved , I politely asked how much longer it would be and was told it was going in shortly and about 45 minutes , so I said ok I'll wait , after the 45 minutes had gone by with my car in the air and the 2 tyres removed apart from eating donuts and on there phones not much seemed to be happening..so I went to get a drink and a bite to eat ,when I arrived back the technician had bought in another car and was looking at that ... I asked him was he going to finish mine as it had been 4 hours now, he said I don't know you'll have to speak to the manager .
I spoke to the manager and said if he can't do it straight away put my tyres back on and give me a refund... He said that the tyres were delivered but he couldn't find them. And had no other tyres ... I phoned up the head office number and made a complaint (they were extremely helpful) they asked me to hold whilst they phoned to check what was happening... I said to the manager that he would be having a phonecall from his head office as I was making a formal complaint... He looked shocked and angry at this and his demeanor changed and was on the phone whilst putting my tyres back on , he then drove my car to the entrance and gave me the key whilst I was still on the phone organizing a refund .
I drove off from the garage I stopped at the shop on way home and when I went to my boot found what looked like the back of my car had been hit with a tyre iron , I drove straight back to the garage and told him what I had found, he just smirked and said so .. I asked if he wanted to look and take pictures he said no but then did come out and looked.. again smirking ... He said I must have done it on purpose and he didn't want to take pictures or report it.
I have reported it and sent photos again the helpline were amazing. .
I'm just waiting to hear back now , but my advice avoid yeovil national tyres

I had a horrible experience with this company. Placed an order for 2 x Tyres and to have them fitted to my car since last year December 2023, using Payment Assist to pay. National Tyres and Autocare, sent an email in January, 2024 that they will not be able to install the 2 x tyres, gave me an option of either a full refund or they send me to a fitting centre close to me and get the tyre fitted. This March 2024, National Tyres and AutoCare neither sent me a fitting station near me nor responded to emails sent to them. This indeed a horrible experience. Accordingly, I have been requesting for full refund in line with their email, still the company does not deemed it to refund my money, so I go to a more befitting company to get my tyres sorted. I was treated badly and uptill now no refund, no appropriate garage to take my car to, I had since stopped further payment through Payment Assist.

I arrived on my pre-selected date at the given time, 8.30 to your fitting station 25-29 Sherborne Road, Yeovil, BA21 4HD to have 4 new tyres fitted with wheel balancing and front wheel alignment. The gentleman on reception could not locate my tyres, first stating that they were still being shipped, but then stating that they do not do those tyres anymore. (Why are these advertised if not available?).
The gentleman at the fitting station then proceeded to offer me alternatives without even picking up the phone to anyone in your establishment to confirm when and if I would get my chosen tyres fitted, but to offer me alternative tyres. As the finance is already locked in with Pay Assist (Loan), unless he was given me the same type of tyre or at their expense if more expensive, but again, nothing was explained to me or how this was going to be remedied, so I left and made the 20mile trip back home.
Not only did I waste 40 miles of petrol, but I had also wasted my partner travelling with me to take me back home to work from home.
The next shambles are your telephone system trying to contact the Customer Service Team 0161 480 7461. This number is just reception which dumps you into a very unclear press numbers queueing system that did take me into a wrong team, who then could not transfer me to the correct team, but the advice was to hang up and try again (Shocking)
Once I eventually made it to the correct team, they did apologise and said that it would be escalated and some one would contact me in around 4 hours’ time, alas, this to no surprise did not happen.
So, to some this all up is complete shocking service from the very start. If my tyres had not arrived or were still in transit either the fitting station or customer service should have contacted me the day before to confirm and to re arrange, but me the customer, seem to be doing all the running around to resolve this.
After this had supposedly been escalated, no one has contacted me

i have complained twice regarding the service I got from your Yeovil branch and have not had one reply ??
can I assume you are not interested in negative responses? If this is the case I will take my future business elsewhere.
I had 2 tyres fitted to my Audi TT and a wheel alignment.
when I drove away the car felt uncontrollable. i checked the pressures and they were 40psi! the recommended psi is 32. Also I am not convinced the front alignment was carried out as I did not get any data as I have before from your Salisbury branch.
i still get vibration so not convinced the balancing is correct.
What disturbs me the most is the lack of customer service follow up.
Please be sure to send this on to head office and advise me you have done this.

Used the mobile fitting option
Fitter chipped the paint in multiple places on 2 of my wheels and also there was impact damage to one as though the wheel had been dropped. 3 wheels in total damaged. (2 in multiple places and a 3rd very slightly)
None of this damage was there to start with.
I've made a complaint and the response from their regional manager was they are denying liability on the grounds of they don't believe the damage was done by their engineer and it was historic. I will continue to pursue this via head office and if be I'll use other and all avenues to attempt to get the damage rectified (I'll seek legal advice) I'll also be making this same statement on other platforms and social media
