Deliberate obstruction

Deliberate obstruction, cancellation dark patterns, and potentially unlawful practices at Neostrada / Versio / YourHosting

I have been a long‑time customer of Neostrada (as consumer and business), where I purchased hundreds of my domains online via their portal many years ago.

After Neostrada was taken over by Versio (which is a subsidiary / part of YourHosting), the service has completely deteriorated.

❌ No online cancellation –> and that is not allowed
If you can take out a subscription or service online, you must also be able to cancel it online. This follows from Dutch consumer law (commonly known as the Wet van Dam) and EU consumer protection rules.

With Neostrada / Versio this is no longer possible.
Cancelling via the online portal? Impossible.
You are forced to call.

📞 Forced phone cancellation (038‑2305027, Zwolle) –> a clear dark pattern
This phone number is not normal customer support, but a deliberately designed discouragement system:

You are given only cancellation-related menu options, no general support, no administration. You are immediately warned of long waiting times

“There are 3 callers ahead of you, the waiting time may be 25 minutes”

If you do not choose any option, you are forced to listen to the entire menu multiple times

If you then say nothing, you suddenly hear:
“Thank you, we will now connect you to an employee” and the call is answered immediately

In other words:
If you follow the system, you are punished with waiting. If you do nothing, you get instant help.
This is not accidental —> this is by design.
Emails? No response for weeks
I have contacted:
support@
administratie@

No response whatsoever.
Not even after reminders.

This concerns active contracts and cancellations, which makes this even more unacceptable.

After the call: an SMS from… YourHosting?!
After this extremely frustrating experience, I immediately received an SMS from “YOURHOSTING” asking me to rate my experience.
Seriously?

No response to emails
No online cancellation option
A deliberately obstructive phone system
And then an NPS / feedback SMS as if this were normal service?

This is unprofessional, and absolutely not worthy of a hosting group that presents itself as a serious provider like Yourhosting.

Summary
What is happening here:
Strongly resembles unlawful cancellation practices
Matches exactly what regulators define as dark patterns
Is unacceptable for a company managing customers’ domains and long‑running services

This is not transparent, not customer‑friendly, and certainly not “YourHosting‑level” behavior.

Put everything in writing
Submit a formal complaint

Consider reporting this to:
The Dutch Consumer Authority (ACM)
Consumer protection organisations

And think twice before placing domains or long‑term services with this group. I have escalated this issue.

400% price increase in 3 years.

After 10 years of great service from them, this month they want to increase my renewal costs from €200 to €800 (3 year package). Original package still on offer but only to new clients. Soo much for 'loyalty' towards long-term customers. Many discussions with them as to reasons why? etc, but to no avail. Am switching to HawkHost.

Insane price increase

Prices surged abnormally, from E18 in 2017, to E320 in 2025. Calling them seemed the only way of ending the contract and I've waited 25 minutes in line. To be fair: (1) prices were communicated well in advance, (2) the eventual person on the phone was friendly, (3) the website has always reachable.

More than 1000% increase in 5 years 😫

Just checked my invoice in 2019: Webhosting starter 35,88EUR. Invoice 2024: webhosting extreme 480EUR (starter would have sufficed but did not exist anymore): the prices increased more than 1000%. Sale professionals call this the triple F technique: Find, F*k and Flee. They sure f*ked us. Don't let them do it to you.

I've been a loyal customer of…

I've been a loyal customer of Neostrada.nl for many years and I can honestly say that my experience has taken a nosedive recently. The prices here have skyrocketed compared to other companies, making it hard to justify staying with them. It feels like they're just trying to squeeze every last penny out of long term customers.

What's even more frustrating is their support. It takes forever to get a response to support tickets, and when they do respond, they can't seem to resolve issues in a timely manner. I've waited days for help only to find that my problems remain unresolved.

To make matters worse, when I finally managed to reach them through a phone number I found on Google, the support staff were incredibly unfriendly and even made accusations rather than offering help. This experience was disappointing and I definitely do not recommend Neostrada.nl. There are better options!

Stay away - you will regret it !

I have had 2 websites hosted at Neostrada, without knowing they increased the price with 400 % in 6 years for one website and 230 % in 2 years for another website. When I saw the new price on my invoice I immediately tried to contact them for an explanation but Neostrada has no phone number and takes about a month to answer an email. So when I tried to stop their service I was too late and had to pay for an extra year of hosting. This costs me 300 euros for one simple website.

On top of there random price changes and inability to contact them their hosting became incredibly slow the last few months to the point where my google ads didn't work well anymore.

I will take my service's elsewhere and the 5 buisnissen that I send to Neostrada for hosting will do the same.

Versio bought the company and turned it into a SCAM

Been a client for 6 years. I used them for all my projects.
Prices keep increasing, now they charged me 1.100 euro for a single website with 2 visitors/day.
Customer support ignores my e-mails. No phone number.
Versio bought this company and turned into a SCAM. I hope someone sues them.

Never use Neostrada ever. Stay away.

Neostrada has suspended my account without warning. I emailed them and they told me the account was flagged but would put it back online. That was 2 weeks ago. Now they don't answer my emails anymore.

Since then I've lost so much business and so have all my customers who are hosted by the same company. Worst of all: this is the second time this happened and they promised it wouldn't happen again. Strongly advise anyone to never use this hosting company.

Please Neostrada Answer us. Thank you.

I am truly sorry to have to come to this point to this announce with Neostrada but they does not give much choice to try to make them realize the damage they are doing to us. We have buyed the Hosting package ' Extreme ' were they promo said site sitebuiler and WordPress is including. 30 days money back guarantee if not satisfy. We payed 145 Euro. We are trying for weeks to reach Neostrada with questions about the package but no answer, only that they will contact us as soon as possible but thats all. No hear and we cannot continue uncompleet. Further nothing, no answer. Almost 30 days pass and serms nobody help us with an answer we would like to use the money back guarantee to return what we payed for but also no answer... We are highly disappointed seems Neostrada was recommended to us. The Extreme hosting site builder options are blocked for the half. WordPress needs a plugin that you cannot upgraden anywhere. You cannot do much or upgraden again what you already have buyed. So we do not come out and we prefer to use the guarantee and receive back the payed hosting package before the 30 days pass.
Again we are deeply sorry to have come to this point but I think that this is no way to treat people that Trust in you.

Don't use them anymore.. Thanks Versio for making a great company bad

In the past Neostrada was one of the best. I use their services for almost six years now and it was awesome.

But due to the recent merger with Versio everything has gotten worse. Server was down since saturday -> Still down on monday 12:00.
So three days downtime and no one replies to my support requests.

We are having economic problems due to this.

Helpdesk is useless.

Helpdesk is useless.
After 1 week having my website down, still no response, whilst paying 120 euro for webhosting.
I just decided to rebuild my website myself:)... which is faster than waiting for their help.
Used to be very good, now to avoid....

Total shitshow

No service at all, according to their reply text after reporting an issue, they should respond in 24 hours, but it takes at least three days to two weeks. They don't have a phone number or chatservice, so there's no possibility to reach them or discuss issues.

I'm trying to retrieve a code to move my domain to another host now and can't reach them.

Avoid at any cost... charging hefty amount for no service

Avoid at any cost!
Having a bad experience with them. In 2020 I transferred some domains here, but before yearly expiration in 2021 I decided to move to another registrar due to their hefty costs.
Even if these domains are not with them anymore they issued billing invoice for renewal and pretend to obtain that amount (basically without offering any service as domains are not with them) also through another company called Blue Finance...
Seems this company is running business in an unethical way, you can check other reviews online (unfortunately I read those too late...)
I recommend to AVOID this company!

Used to be good, very bad speed now

Used to have sites there in the past, which was fine.

Now for my new personal website I decided to go there again. But the speed of the lowest web package is completely unacceptable for a basic light weight WordPress website.

I'm just out of luck since refunds are only possible within the first 2 weeks, while support kept me busy. Now I really regret having subscribed for 3 years.
