The Newcastle branch is well appointed and efficiently staffed by extremely courteous and efficient individuals.
All-in-all a pleasure to do business there.

Resent remortgage with Newcastle Building Society, I dealt with Richard who was fantastic! I was traveling for 3 weeks with work and Richard adjusted his hours of work and we held the meeting on Teams. He really couldn’t have been more helpful.

Received an email on Monday inviting me to open a loyalty saver account. I click on the link to open the account, and receive the message..."We cannot direct you to the requested web page at this time. Please try again". Email Customer services and told to wait 24 hours for the IT Department to activate. NOTHING, same error. What a complete waste of my time. So in September, I'll be moving on to another Building Society who can be bothered and transfer my savings to them instead.

One star is being generous. Just want rid of this BS but their administrative procedures are terrible.

Lovely atmosphere when you go in and staff so keen to help in a professional and friendly way . Also felt it part of local community with the info around the reception room.

Friendly and efficient service from all the staff in Knaresborough branch. It is lovely to be able to actually talk to a real person .

I have wasted hours simply trying to revive an account they made dormant. Same names at same address - should be easy enough. The hoops they made me jump through are ridiculous. I took driving license into their Carlisle branch and they wrote to me saying they photocopy was unclear. THEIR OWN PHOTO COPY DONE BY THEIR OWN STAFF. Several other stupid mistakes. They are very hard work.

Have been with Newcastle Building Society for a number of years and cannot speak too highly of the staff at the Consett branch.
My business with them today was dealt with the usual friendliness and efficiency even though I had omitted to book an appointment.
In these days of bank closures it is reassuring to be able to have face to face discussions with friendly people who are genuinely interested in your financial needs.

I received my first account information letter from Newcastle B/S; it contained an account number and a reference number. I became a bit confused about which was which and went to my local branch to enquire. I was greeted adequately, and when I asked if I could sit down, I received a curt yes. The official came over to me, standing above me like a praying mantis, and I explained the issue I was facing. I told her that the account number and the reference number were confusing for me. To cut a long story short, she spoke to me as if I were five years old; she was so patronising that the following day, I cancelled my account and returned the money to the original bank.

I recently had a fixed rate ISA here but wanted to transfer it to another provider. It was made confusing by the fact the new provider refused to respect my wishes to only transfer when that ISA matured (like most do), so I got in touch with Newcastle to ask them to handle that and they did. This was really appreciated, and they transferred the ISA the day after it matured. Thank you

Just had one of the best online support experiences from an extraordinarily patient professional called Mary.
I am awful at online anything and have been avoiding the rigamarole of purchasing a new ISA, having not properly set up my online account when instructed to do so by mail. Mary very patiently took me through the process, at all times being good humoured and supportive, and got my online account properly set up and helped me with the purchasing of my ISA. Faultless. Brilliant support. Thanks
