Abysmal customer service
Like many other complaints on here I urge you not to use this company.
Unable to fulfil my order in their time frame I ended up canceling my order and although they say they have passed it to their accounts I have not recieved it yet. Given ample time and warning I have had to complain to the Ombudsman and will take it further if necessary. A total waste of time and stressful fustration just to try and save a few pounds. The old saying is " If it's too good to be true, then it is'nt ! ".
Don't be fooled by the great offers they have as you are very likely to end up regretting it.
My order was placed on 31.08.2015 and should have taken no longer than 3 weeks.
I cancelled my order 29/09/2015 they replied they had requested their finance department to issue a refund the same day.
15/10/2015 still no refund.
Wasted 10 weeks !!!!!!!!! Good customer service? Acceptable?
AVOID THIS COMPANY !
Update.21/10/2015 Still no refund and Instead of trying to redeem their reputation or satisfy a disgruntled customer, Nigel O'Hara.com reported my post to make me delete my reference to a better company. As this is a breech of Trustpilots T&C's I have complied but it goes to show that Nigel O'hara.com would rather spend time getting decent, fair paying customers to retract their views or reviews of displeasure rather than spending that time appologising or trying to make good their poor service.
Worst company 2015
They're too busy worrying about removing reviews, if only they dedicated this time into actually completing peoples orders then they wouldn't have this issue.
Received a broken TV with a lot of delay!!!No refund!!!
I am still waiting for a refund after 2 month!never try this compony!I am going to start an application on northern Ireland courts and tribunals service to make a money claim!I do not think if there is any other way to get my money back!
this company has help
As my previous review was quick to condem this company I must say that after speaking with John, their store manager regarding the still outstanding refund from the 19/09/15 he has in fact confirmed that this had actually been passed today and I must say it is a pleasure to see somebody within this company that actually takes customer service seriously.
If I were the MD of this company I would put this man in charge of their entire CS support centre and see what that does for customer relations.
You are not as you perceve yourself you are as others perceive you understand this and you will certainly help your companies reputation
HAVE I BEEN SCAMMED
I bought a Samsung 60inch TV from this site on 21st August 2015 !! I paid using my visa debit card ! I was informed it could take up to 2weeks to arrive which I did not question, on the 11th September I was told the TV was not available due to discontinued line , I was offered another tv or a refund ! I opted for the refund as the TV that was offered was much more money ! I was given a ticket number for future communication with the support team ! I have had no refund to date 13th October 2015 ?? Initially I would have a response to my messages regarding my refund but now they have not responded to any messages I have sent to the support team since 3rd October 2015 ?? I am now going to claim through the courts if I have no luck through my bank ! I would WARN ANYONE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY they take your money with ease and DO NOT REFUND !!! HOW IS THIS COMPANY STILL TRADING!!! I also am taking this matter as far as I can and in the process of collecting as much information to send to trading standards and watch dog ! I would strongly recommend anyone who has had dealings like this with this company do the same .
AVOID
Its like gambling with this website. You can be lucky and get your Item or not so lucky and wait weeks for item that never arrives and then wait more weeks for refund. Communication is slow and not very helpful. Ordered 2 items with them one arrived fine other didn't. Refund takes forever.
AVOID AVOID AVOID !
I had read mixed reviews of Nigel O'Hara & decided to 'take a risk' ! It was not a risk worth taking. I purchase a 55" LG Curved TV at a great price of £971.53 ! They duly took my money and processed my order on 11/09/2015 and advises that delivery would be 1-3 weeks. I wrote to them to advise that i was out the country from 29/9 to 7/10 and requested when delivery would be made. They promptly (36hrs) replied 'This item has been ordered from the manufacturer specifically for you. This is stated on the product page beside the 'available to order' icon - visible when placing your order. With this being the case, we are currently awaiting delivery of your order to us from our supplier where we will then have it sent to you on the highest of priority. We do have a very quick turn around period with such orders and therefore expect your item to arrive with us very soon'. Sounds great I thought, 8 further days passed without contact, so I chased for delivery again. They replied 'Thank you for your message, I am very sorry to read that you have not yet received your order. Although we do not have a definitive date of arrival for your order, I would expect it to arrive with you very soon as I have not been informed otherwise. Really, at this stage we would expect the next point of contact to be an email confirming your item has been dispatched. A member of our team will contact you with all of the information we have regarding this order, providing it has not already arrived with you or been dispatched by this stage. We believe you should not have to chase us up when looking for information for your order so we will from this point, aim to keep you updated'. I then received a further email 'Unfortunately there has been a delay on your item due to a supply issue. Due to this supply issue we are unable to provide you with an exact date of delivery. Please be assured that we are still due to receive this item. We will contact you as soon as your item has arrived'. At this point I requested a refund on 24th of September 2015, as of today 12/10 I have still not been refunded. I have no been forced to open a disputed payment claim with my credit card provider who will refund me this week and pursue the seller. More worrying the customer service agent was supply aware of who Nigel O'Hara are and had dealt with disputes on many occasions.
They will dispute this review as they always do but it the facts.
Go to Curry's go anywhere but don't trust Nigel O'Hara with your funds !
Liars
I ordered a Sony phone on September 21st, listed as in stock. After they failed to give me any news I emailed to ask why my item, listed as available, still hadn't been sent. I received an email saying that my phone wasn't available but had to be ordered and upon revisiting the item page the status of the item had been changed to available for order. I took this in my stride as the company refusing to admit an error and let it slide. Then a few days later I was told that they couldn't fulfill my order because my phone was out of production. This claim was absolutely ridiculous as it obviously is not out of production since it is listed as in production on the Sony website and available to purchase directly from Sony. It is also available from every other retailer on the Internet - including, to add to ridicule, Nigel O'hara. The item I ordered is still available from their website but the price had been increased from £266 to around £400, which is normal retailing price. When I pointed this out to the company and demanded a refund I was promised my money within 48 hours, with them claiming that my request had been marked as urgent. This was almost a week ago and today I received a message saying it could take up to 14 days with no reference to the 48 hour promise.
Avoid this company at all costs as they lure you in with low prices and then use your money as an interest free loan. All their promises and claims and reassurances are lies and they will never admit or give an explanation for their mistakes.
Edit: After threatening to report this company to Watchdog as well as the Guardian money website and promising to personally ruin their company if I didn't get my refund in the next 48 hours I promptly received my money back.
Worse company Ever...
*---AVOID ---*
still waiting for refund even after there 14 refund policy? they need introducing to the 21st century..
i requested for my money back right away and all they have done is mess me around..
don't make the silly mistake i did... they don't even have a contact number.
is it really worth a few pounds savings? .. go buy from a trusted company.
0/5 rating.
if you take the risk make sure to pay with credit card then at least your covered..
Fast, prompt, efficient service
Ordered Filofax after researching which one best suited me Nigel O hara were definitely the most cost effective, received an a update as soon as I had placed my order, received updates via txt message On the process of my order.
Great
Order came quickly with items as advertised will defo be using again!
Disgusting Customer Service
We purchased a TV back in August and were advised that the delivery date would be 15th September. That came and went and eventually they admitted to not having an ETA from the manufacturer. No biggie, I work in the IT industry as as purchaser, so I know this happens, asked for a refund and that should have been that... But it wasn't We have been chasing for the refund ever since, we were told 14 days, which I have them, still nothing, last week we were told they would get onto it, still nothing. I will be taking this to the small claims court in a week if we still have not received it. What makes it worse si that they do not have any way of contacting them via phone, you are forced to use an impersonal and slow text based messaging service, Totally appalled by this, will never use them again and tell everyone I know to completely avoid them.
Great Service!
Ordered a pair of Sony Wireless Headphones for my PS4. I've seen very few things arrive so well packaged! I would have liked it to arrive quicker, but that being said it arrived in only a few days (I just wanted it to be delivered by concorde, evidently). Will definitely be using this site again, as product was the cheaper here for the same quality service you'd get elsewhere!
Fantastic service
Ordered a watch and was recorded within 4 days, at a fraction of the retail price. excellent service would highly recommend
AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!
I ordered a 34 inch LG monitor from this company with the delivery estimate on the website set at within two weeks from the ordering date. The 550 pounds was taken immediately at ordering time. The confirmation email however moved the delivery time further one week into the future.
I contacted the company on several occasions trying to cancel the order in the 3 WEEKS time-frame of the supposed dispatch to be met with either silence or unhelpful stalling answers.
The (sneakily increased) LATEST estimated delivery date for this item was the 6nd of October. They claim that the order is being delivered directly by the supplier and has been marked as dispatched and can no longer be cancelled at this stage...it is now the 11th of october with no details of delivery or tracking number and refusal to refund. The matter will be referred for charge-back to my credit card company.....unfortunately this can take up to 8 weeks apparently due to the sum of money involved - shame on Santander and Mastercard for being so cavalier with my hard-earned money.
I URGE anyone contemplating a 10% saving by ordering from this company to seriously consider shopping elsewhere where the goods are actually in stock and the customer support is present.
AVOID ORDERING FROM THESE PEOPLE AT ALL COSTS!
Why is it so hard to give a refund? It's my money after all.
Update 12 Nov 2015
The Nigel O'Hara website is now down for 'maintenance'.
Update 30 Oct 2015
4 weeks and still waiting for a refund. I've been in touch with my credit card company, a consumer magazine, a consumer tv programme and trading standards. Just give me my money back. You have absolutely no right to keep it this long.
Update 23 Oct 2015.
It has been 3 weeks since I cancelled the order and still no refund. They are ignoring my messages as well. I have reported this company to as many authorities and media outlets as I can.
Would you seriously wish to do business with a company as bad as this?
==================================================
This company has a puzzling business model. They list goods at a low price and set a 3 week window for delivery. I was prepared to wait 3 weeks for the laptop that I ordered so that seems to be a decent window to set. It's not unreasonable but it is completely unrealistic.
Thereafter, nothing until you get in touch with them to find out what's going on. So now that they have your money, which is taken immediately when you order, and it would seem that they would like to hang on to it as long as possible. When a delivery window is missed, they will try to string you along with the 'it will be here shortly' trick.
I wasn't prepared to be strung along so I cancelled the order. And once you have done this they state that they will refund the money within the next 14 days. That is a ridiculous amount of time to wait for a refund and is not within distance selling regulations.
I will never shop with this company again and I would not recommend them to anyone.
Finally, I can see that they've been having a clean up on TrustPilot by reporting negative reviews but they are quite happy to point the finger at other retailer's TrustPilot reviews when a customer complains. It's obvious that people tend to complain on websites like this when there is a problem and I agree that there are probably thousands who have a good experience but have written nothing.
If you don't want people to write negative reviews then get your house in order; publish realistic delivery times and stop hanging on to people's money. You should refund immediately then there will be less for people to complain about.
Internet Order - DO NOT TRUST
I ordered a piece of computer equipment from their online store (separate from the shop.... Apparently) and after it not arriving after a month (yes we're patient) they kept promising a dropship delivery (really?!?!) so we couldn't cancel. After another week of arguments and lies they agreed to refund the money. After another week still no refund so I reported them to PayPal who had already suspended their account for dubious activity. Nigel OHara had no intention of providing my goods and withheld the money. Do not trust them.
Nigel O'Hara are liars and rip-offs.
I read the bad reviews, but thought if I confirm the stock with them prior to ordering then I should be safe. I received a confirmation of available stock email within a couple hours.
Well, as soon as I placed my order my delivery date changed in my order details (however it still showed an earlier date on the website). I asked about stock (again) and about the changed delivery date. Within a few hours I received a phone call explaining the item is available and a response email stating my EDA has also not changed.
So I waited...
Delivery day (two weeks from order) arrives and nothing. I email them and get a very fast reaponse saying they are having trouble with the manufacturer supplying my model laptop (Acer VN7-591G) which is ridiculous as it is available everywhere.
Being quite irritated I received absolutely no information about this "difficulty" yet was repeatedly told everything was available, I decided to cancel and have a refund.
No problem considering they haven't even sourced my item, right?
Little did I know I have transitioned in to the Nigel O'Hara signature customer service phase. Simply put, I was ignored as soon as I mentioned refund or cancel.
I emailed them (only form of contact) 7 times requesting immediate cancellation and refund with no response. Luckily I paid via credit card and could raise a Section 75 claim and get my money back.
As soon as the bank confirmed the case in my favour Nigel O'Hara popped up and said sorry to hear about my cancellation request which will be passed to their "financial team" to be processed. I will get my refund when my bank confirms the funds? Well sorry Nige, but my bank already took my funds back. Thanks anyway.
They also try to get you back by saying "my laptop is expected any day now" so if I want to continue my order just let them know.
Hmmm... nah.
The short of it: Do not believe the positive reviews. Do not believe Nigel O'Hara. Just pay the extra and buy from another retailer you're familiar with. If you are as stupid as me and think you will be different then do not pay with your debit card! Cover yourself with a credit card. If you don't have one then please do not order as you will lose your money.
Worst Customer Services ever.
I will never, and shall never recommend Nigel O'Hara to anyone.
I requested a refund for an item to which i never received (although i was informed that it would be in the warehouse shortly) after 3 weeks of waiting i requested the refund. That was on the 24-08-15, it is now the 7-10-15 and still no refund. They have provided no help what so ever.
DO NOT BUY FROM THEM. Usually i ignore peoples complaints, but i wish i hadn't.
I have emailed Ombudsman for help.
Update - 2 months later, I finally got my refund.
The worst online company
The worst online retailer , never never buy anything from it.
It ads an cheaper price, but never deliver anything to you. When you cancel it, it also holds the money, and doesn't give you any refund. I've ordered something from mid of August. After two weeks, they said it is out of stock. Then I cancelled the order. Until now, it is over a month, it still doesn't redund me. This is company has not any credit. Get away from it.
