Have been involved in a dispute with this lot in for over four years.Three times the ombudsman has found in my favour, I have been proved 100 % correct everytime they have come up with one of their 'bill fantasies'.Took me twelve registered letters to get the meter read, over a year, took more money from my accounts over the phone , and I mean thousands etc etc If you want the real truth just ask their employees off the record of course and you will be amazed at what they tell you. I doubt their metamorphosis into Eon or whatever will make the slightest difference. Disgust company and I believe this is is just the tip of a very large iceberg.

Where do I start with this lot?

Where do I start with this lot?

I bought a property which npower are the incumbent supplier to. I registered with them, set up an online account and gave them opening reads.

They then "lost" the reads.

Then kept writing to "the occupier", over a dozen times, same old rubbish to register with them and read the meter.

Then a "we're changing your meter" letter. Yet their website wouldn't allow an appointment change and didn't have a visit listed.

A little bit of progress with a web chat and more meter reads. Allegedly they've posted a bill on the 15th - it's now the 28th, so that's a lie. An unpleasant email demands a payment by tomorrow. Yet I have no bill. Their website doesn't work at all (and hasn't all week) so I can't look online for the supposed bill.

They won't take phone calls outside of 9 to 5. Guess who is at work and can't spend forever in a phone queue?

Utter utter useless company staffed by incompetents. Thankfully they're all for the dole queue when e.on takes the accounts over soon.

Sent a bill and they have tripled my direct debit!! Supposed to be on a 'smart meter' Gone from £40 to £125 a month as they have not been taking readings and have allowed a £400 debt to occur. Not happy at all. Cannot afford this increase!!!!

Appalling and offensive "customer service"

Appalling "customer service", they were aggressive and rude on the phone, condescending and genuinely offensive. Their energy is incredibly expensive which is why I have now left. Reassessed my final bill without telling me and somehow managed to work out that I had gone from being over £400 in credit to owing them £120 for a 5 week period. Disgusting overall.

If you want to go broke use this company :)

If I could give zero ratings I would. Take account of the 90%+ reviews stating how awful this company is. Very telling
This company will exploit you and take complete advantage of your financial situation- avoid this company at all costs unless you wish to go broke.
Charging me £110 a month for JUST ELECTRIC as a single person in a one bed flat, who is out at work everyday... shameful and in no way justifiable. Tried to dispute it but you’ll get nowhere with an ombudsman who is evidently and corruptly paid to side with them

The most incompetent company EVER.

In all the years of doing business I have never found a company as incompetent as Npower Business, if you are thinking of switching DO NOT.

Since May of last year (8 months) I have been trying to get them to update the invoices to reflect my company so we can clear a balance. Over 40+ emails, countless hours on the phone and now they are threatening legal action. I just need the correct company name

They have lost paperwork, never call back, don't update their system the list goes on.

In short if you are thinking about switching do not, it's really not worth the hours of stress and frustration. I simply don't understand how a company of this size are operating in such a manner. Its clear from these reviews my issue is not isolated, I never leave a review for anything but felt obligated to share my poor experience.

I'm doing the only thing they will understand and taking my business elsewhere.

If your reading this Npower sack your senior management team!

Npower has now been taken over by Eon

Npower has now been taken over by Eon. They are now known as eon next. The customer service is appalling. I recieved letters at the beginning of last year saying ny direct debut amount is correct. I put in meter readings. Until October when they decided to increase my debit by more than 3 times the amount and they now say I am in debt to them. They are cowboys. They have sent me Bill's and each time the bill is going up more and more regardless that I am using the same amount of electricity and my increased debit amount has been taken out of my account.

Needless to say I have moved to a different service.

This company is outrageous. It is lucky that I am able to afford the ridiculous amount they are charging me. I feel sorry for people who are not in as good a position as me as I am sure people would struggle to pay this company their extreme charges.

RED DEFAULT sent unnecessarily

Just received a RED DEFAULT letter stating I owe them money. Yet my account is and and always been, paid by direct debit.
This letter states how I may be charged fees threatened with bad credit scores and even county court judgements to name a few. However when I called to query this letter I was informed that they had switched billing systems and this was an error an to disregard. I’ve checked my bank and payments HAVE been taken out!
disappointed with this poor level of service to say the least.
Not entirely happy that even though the business is closed we are still being charged full rate electricity.

Unexpected Payment Cancellation

I agreed with them to pay my dept in 15 months. I moved to anether city and i wanted to keep going with them but they tell me i cannot. Because E-on buy their company. And suddenly they canceled my agreed payment schedule and send my home a bill with my all dept. I agreed with them to pay it in 15 months. So, they broke the agreement that makes me aggrieved.

Where do I start,

Where do I start, absolutely terrible company, they don’t answer emails, of course you have to be lucky enough to get one to actually send on their complaints website! Usual comments are that you have timed out, I don’t think so?

They owe us £273.95, have asked for this refund twice on the phone, still waiting, and attempted to send five emails! Was promised I would receive two emails immediately after my phone call, regarding my complaint, still waiting, that was eight days ago. Should be hearing from someone from complaints department, within 10 working days, I won’t hold my breath. One phone call took 55 minutes to be answered, I gave up on another call after 50 minutes! I think the ombudsman is my next port of call!

We were with nPower until the…

We were with nPower until the changeover to EON next. nPower really did not communicate with each other. For years (yes years) we have been phoning them to arrange a payment card to be sent so i can go into a paypoint shop and make payments. We would get earache for allowing our bills to build up but it would finish with "we will get a card sent out to you"
The staff just seemed to have such low intelligence that that could not understand WHY payments had not been made. On out last call, the man said he could see all the requests that we made for a payment card and he recommended that he set us up for online payments, this has worked perfectly!
Due to unforeseen events, we no longer have the money we built up but we are making frequent payments, it really is very simple, takes less than two minutes.
We wouldn't have had an £8000 electric bill arrears if we had the last person on the phone all them years ago! npower put us in touch with a charity to see if we could get help with this bill chavis grants? That turned out to lead nowhere. To be honest i never expected to be in such a position but here i am. Nervous about the future.

One star is too good for these guys

One star is too good for these guys. NPower worst company I have dealt with. Moved out my house nearly 2 1/2 years ago with a balance of £352 credit in my account spoke to NPower when leaving said everything was fine and money I was owed would be paid out shortly, still waiting on that money but in the meantime (about 18 months later) I’ve had letters from NPower demanding £191 for my bill which was outstanding when I left my old property. Tried to speak with NPower over the fone was a waste of time as account was old and shutdown. Went down the email route and was wanting breakdown of my account and how they got this final number again nothing account was over 12 months old and closed yet the first letter stating I owed them money was 15 months after I moved out and my account was closed. Still trying to sort this mess out and it’s now no longer dealt with by NPower but a debt company who have better customer service than NPower.

The company used their guesstimates despite me providing readings

The company used their own guesstimates regarding my bill despite me providing readings. I have not worked it out exactly but I estimate they owe me £350-£400.

I have switched to another energy company who have requested readings from them.

Interesting that they have a rating of 1.2 stars and the lowest you can give them is one !!!

AWFUL Company

AWFUL Company! My bill for a two bedroom flat went from £39 a month, to £293 with ZERO explanation! When I called them (multiple times), they patronised me by saying 'electricity is expensive you know, there is nothing wrong with the meter.' Thankfully, EON have been much more helpful and have arranged an engineer to check the meter.
