If i could give this company zero star…

If i could give this company zero star I would, 1 star is too generous. Moved out from a property in 2017, which NPOWER supplied on a pay as you go. After 6 months, received a letter saying I owe them £600 on electricity bill, disputed it and sent a final statement saying i dont owe them anything. After 6 mos. I received letters from Moorcroft debt collectors, saying that I owe them £430 of unpaid electricity bill from NPOWER, I decided to go to citizens advise bureau to help me deal with this, they phoned Npower and challenged them. The guy they spoke to said they will looked at it and will call me for an update but that never happen, it was in February 2019. Then, never heard from Moorcroft again, until in October of this year, I received a letter from Lowell debt collector saying that they bought my outstanding account from Npower and that I need to pay them £130, called Lowell and told them I don't owe this scumbug a single penny and Lowell said they investigate it and will update me. Today, I got a letter from this Npower saying that my gas account to my previous property need to be updated since Npower is become part E.ON. People is this company are clueless of their job and this company is full of crap. I phoned them two years ago about leaving that property and requested to close my account on both gas and electricity, they closed the electricity but not the electricity (how stupid is that) and now they want a proof that I indeed vacated that property in 2018. They want me to email them the Tenancy agreement of the old property ( in which will not show my vacating date) or my mortgage agreement ( which will not also tells my moving date to the new property, plus I am not stupid enough to give it to them because I don't trust them). Avoid this company as much as possible, they will change their name to E.ON soon but you will get the same stress.

Moved to a flat in June 2020 which had a pre-paid electricity meter on npower. I used the web chat service to set up an account. The customer assistant helped me while doing his house work I guess. At least held me two hours on the chat making me to fed up and look for another service.
Decided to switch to bulb and did my first top up with bulb when there is 25p balance left in npower. Received my final statement from the npower in August with a £30 refund in a cheque which I never cashed. After a week npower started sending me letters, emails continuously telling that I owe £50 to them. Finally contacted customer services after waiting in a 1 hour long queue to explain that I have a pre-paid meter and there is no way I owe them any money. They promised to look in to this and solve soon, instead kept sending me letters and emails asking to pay the balance. Finally I wrote an email explaining how much annoyance this has caused me and then finally they responded telling that cheque they sent by mistake and asking me to destroy it. And told they will clear the balance if I am happy to close the complain. That's all. Not even a single apology for the disrespect and the annoyance they have given to me. Go with npower if you want your details to put in debs collection. Horrific !!!

Conning people to get more money

Shouldn’t even have 1 star. I moved into a flat when I was 17 and went with an npower pay as you go meter! I moved out after a few months and went with a different supplier so I left £10 credit on both gas and electric when I left. Later, I had letters and emails saying I owed over £25 for the time I wasn’t living there so I disputed and they said it was their fault and apologised but once I moved into university they started getting debt collectors to contact me (after I left no debt!).
A year on (today 3/12/2020) and I just had an email now saying I owed £35 which I don’t owe at all!
They’re just a scam who just want money and try and con people into getting more money from them (maybe don’t take on a law and sports science double degree student next time).

Shame on you NPower!
If I could award no stars I would. Disappointed with the level of customer service received regarding an enquiry/compliant on my account.
NPower has also refused my request to speak to a manager to resolve matters - what reputable company does that?
Avoid this company!

Adviser put the phone down on me!! (all i did is ask for advise).

I have tried to speak to someone about the every increasing costs. I am now being asked to pay £178 a month for a 3 bedroom home. In these difficult times i expected some constructive assistance and not what happened. Stephen the adviser put the phone down on me because i questioned the increasing costs. This is NOT customer service. Since i have put in a complaint, This takes 7 days to send an automated response that says they wil be in contact in 28 days.

Totally incompetent Customer Service

N Powers shocking Customer Service knows no bounds . Why do they keep sending increasingly threatening letters ( including threats to get a warrant to gain access to our home ) to customers who are shielding demanding access to their property to change meters . Despite repeated attempts you can’t get through to Customer Services on 0800 073 3010 and logging a complaint was a waste of time as the staff Member put me on hold and I was eventually cut off . Before being cut off the operative said to ignore the letter , there auto generated and N Power won’t get a warrant during COVID . If that’s the case just stop sending the letters and upsetting people who already in a bad place due to shielding from the virus .

Avoid at all costs

Gave them advanced warning we were taking over a property, yet they still too 3 weeks to switch to our desired supplier. When I contacted them in response to a £59 bill sent to "the occupier" they threatened us with a land registry search to find our details and that they would pass our details to a debt collection agency if we didn't pay. We would never knowingly pay a company that sources non renewable energy, let alone nuclear power. Terrible company, steep prices for energy production that is literally destroying the planet. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!

If I could give this company no stars I would. Paid my bill in September get getting letters saying you account us overdue. I must have phoned three times saying I had paid, was told yeah got your payment ignore letters. Only today I get a threatening letter saying your account is seriously overdue, and was saying this will be passed to bailiffs. I called again and they found the payment that had gone on to my pre pay gas account. I said hows this happened when I pay on line under my account number. All I got was I'm sorry you've had yo call. I said what about all the stress caused my this threatening letter. They really didn't seem bothered and that was the complaint team. I'm surprised N Power have any customers they are such an appalling company to deal with.

Been overcharged since switching to a 'cheaper online tariff. Been paying around £130 a month for past two years and now nPower wanting £225 per month as I have ran up a debit of £330? Energy usage lower than last year?
Had a check meter fitted and apparently all is well with the existing meter.
Had a call from nPower and I have used £432 in electricity in one month since check meter fitted?????
Now been escalated to complaints and referred to the Ombudsman.

What has happened to NPower’s previous great customer service? Ive just called Npower twice. The first call I choose to be called back and after 3 minutes I just got disconnected I called and waited again and when it was my turn they just disconnected me What is going on? I was given on the recorded call centre message the option to use chat, but their chat is closed!!! On top of that Monthly payments and balances are a mess nothing makes sense. It looks like it will be, after all these years being a happy customer, that I have to move to another supplier, what a shame!
