Absolute terrible experience without…

Absolute terrible experience without heaving a car rented. I asked 4 different employees to estimate do insurance cost in Mexico rental location. All of the forwarded me only the “blabla” from the website without beeing able to answer my concrete question. When I escalated asking the same question again all of them just stoped responding. What a client service is that. I wonder how would it work in case I rented a car in reality.

TERRIBLE

They took my ID, and when they tried to check if it was real, this Neanderthal decided my COMPLETELY REAL ID was FAKE and CUT IT UP. Also, before this happened, the salesman assisting with my purchase tried to take my wallet after I dropped it. When I confronted him, he said I don't get paid enough and the owner beats me with a wooden paddle if I don't make enough sales. When we first arrived and shook hands with the person helping us, he grabbed my wife's hand and wouldn't let go. He said that she had a nice body and he would give us a discount if she gave him "special favors," and winked awkwardly at her. When she declined, he tacked on an 80% fee for "harassment" and "noncompliance with instructions." When I say NEVER go here, I mean it. This was genuinely the worst experience of my life, and ruined my honeymoon. If I could give it 0 stars, I would.

What and amazing experience

What and amazing experience, I booked thru Expedia like I always do, they picked me up at the airport and brought me to their office, the design is very nice, the guys working the counter do their job advising you on what you might need but don't force you into anything, I really like that, unlike other companies that pressure you into getting their own insurance, I had my own insurance and they let me use it, of course they explain that the security deposit is high due to the responsibility but is something that I already knew so everything went well..

Never ever buy the car from Scam…

Never ever buy the car from Scam company like NU car rental or infinity they are a real scamster .. i booked my car for 3 days and i had to wait at airport for 1 hr to pick me up and later found out i have to pay $100 per day for insurance and without that they won’t allow to take a car as i can use the insurance with my CC but them being a scamster i was not allowed and i had to leave the premises go back to airport and book a cab to get to my Hotel … they are a horrendous company and will never buy things from them

Any coverage is invalidated for any noncompliance with the terms and conditions of the rental contract.

SCMAMMERS!!!!Reserved a car for a week through Expedia for Under $150 CAD, when arrived the counter is actually 20 min drive by shuttle which you have to wait for. They said to get the car, I had to buy their insurance which was $353 USD or provide a $30,000 deposit in case the car was damaged or went missing. I explained I had full car insurance everywhere in the world through my credit card and they didnt care. I was stuck, they had me, keep in mind I am now in the middle of industrial nowhere with all my luggage, I had to pay their insurance, and take the loss. I wasnt going to offer up 30k for a peice of crap 2 door compact car. WORST EXPERIENCE DO NOT RENT FROM THEM.

Based on the Signed Rental Agreement with Ticket 725366, indeed, you were charged for the insurance. According to Cancun Airport's Terms and Conditions, If you choose to use credit card damage and theft coverage you must leave a guarantee for the value of the vehicle and provide a letter issued from your bank specifying that you have the requested funds available and that your card provides CDW and Theft protection for the rental vehicle. The letter has to be verifiable and supported by the Mexican Insurance Commission. With the letter the renter will be required to sign a statement of personal responsibility. Without documentation mentioned here the purchase of CDW and TP is required at the rental counter.

This is a scam company

This is a scam company
To start they were closed when it say s they are open 24/24 on Expedia
So i have to wait at the closed agency until they open
When they finally opened they started to say they have no car. Half an hour after they dont have automatic car. And after they need 30.000US$ deposit.
None of my top credit card works strangely. So i have to pay for their scam insurance if i want a car....
Just AVOID this scam company

Upon checking on the rental document with Ticket 722485, you signed up for a Collision Damage Waiver. Based on the Terms and Conditions of Cancun, without this CDW, the Deposit is equivalent to the value of the car from 7500-30000 USD. Hence, the charge remains.

Please do yourself a favor and do not rent from NU. I have a credit card that provided insurance, but they said that I would have to put a $12,000 hold on my credit card so that I won't have to pay for their insurance. I said fine and they pretended to run my card and said it wouldn't go through and I had to buy their insurance. It was $1,000 to buy their insurance! Interesting that the credit card worked to run the $1,000 insurance policy but didn't seem to work for my deposit. I even called my bank at the rental counter and said that it should be able to go through and, in fact, they see no evidence on their end of the car rental company even trying to run my card for the deposit. This is a huge scam! To make matters worse, I told them that I will return the car early and was like my cost to be prorated. They said no

While we understand the issue, the client had the vehicle in his possession for an entire week. If the client did have an issue for the first moment, he had the same opportunity to bring it back the next day, it wasn’t until it was convenient to him to return it, also with a busted tire, which he called in before returning to request assistance since he claimed it was "flat", as per our rental agreement to which our mutual client has a copy, on section 11 claims as follows "11.IN THE EVENT THAT THE TENANT RETURNS THE RENTED VEHICLE BEFORE THE DATE AND TIME STATED ON THE FRONT OF THIS CONTRACT, THE LESSOR WILL PAY TO THE TENANT'S CREDIT CARD ACCOUNT, UNUSED DAYS, ONLY AND EXCLUSIVELY IF IT WAS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE LESSOR, WHICH CAN BE REFUNDED WITHOUT THE RESPECTIVE TAXES. IN THE EVENT THAT THE TENANT RETURNS THE VEHICLE EARLY FOR REASONS UNRELATED TO THE LESSOR AND/OR THE USE OR OPERATION OF THE VEHICLE, UNUSED DAYS MISSING FROM THE LEASE WILL NOT BE REFUNDABLE."

NEVER RECEIVED CAR

NEVER attempt to rent from NU Car Rental. I made a reservation for 2 cars, pick up at Cancun airport. I received a call the day prior with directions how to call for my shuttle to pick me up to bring me to the cars.

They never picked up the phone and I tried calling the number they called me from and any other number I could find online, again with no answers.

Finally, I had to get my family to our resort so I paid a ridiculous price for a taxi. When I called NU Car Rental the next morning to ask why they did not answer the phone, they said I never called and was considered a no-show and cancelled my reservation.

This led to more expenses for obtaining a local rental car with a new company and another expensive taxi ride back to the airport.
