Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 88 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers reported receiving unexpected and high parking charges, often £100 or more, even after believing they had complied with rules or paid. Reviewers frequently encountered issues with payment systems, such as machines not working, taking duplicate payments, or failing to provide receipts. Many people also highlighted confusing or inadequate signage, leading to misunderstandings about parking requirements and charges. The customer service and appeal processes were widely criticized, with people finding them unhelpful, incompetent, and unresponsive to evidence. However, some customers also noted that even with vouchers for free parking or confirmed payments, they still received fines. Additionally, a few reviewers mentioned that fines quickly escalated to debt recovery agencies, making the situation more stressful.

Extortion dressed up as “parking…

Extortion dressed up as “parking management”. Ocean Parking issued a charge to an authorised permit holder using pitch-dark photos that prove nothing, then rejected the appeal with boilerplate nonsense. No common sense, no fairness, just revenue chasing.

100% corrupt company

10 minutes late out of the carpark and was fined £100. Appealed it and adjudicator ruled in their favour surprise surprise. I was parked in the actual carpark for 2 hours but traffic didn't allow me to leave in time and somehow that's my fault!! Go figure. Absolutely corrupt and immoral. The adjudicator didn't even want to listen to my side which leaves you with suspicions that they're also profiting. These free money making scams need to stop and the companys fined heavily. It's extremely unethical and as I say it's a licence to print free money for doing literally nothing. Disgusting practice.

Careless company

Careless company. Parked on Boxing Day and got fined £60. I explained it in appear said there’s no clear sign said bank holiday is payable. That’s why I thought it’s free. But they didn’t care at all. Just simply rejected and ask me to pay.

Robbing b********

No clear signage or barriers to the car park to suggest there's charge to your stay at this what appears to be a McDonald's car park. McDonald's couldn't be less bothered about making it clear it's not a free car park, so must be getting a % of the fines. Wouldn't go to Walsall again!!!

Scum of the earth

Scum of the earth! Soulless scum robbing the poor to pay the rich and line their fat cat pockets. Yet more proof of our flawed system where you can be fined £100 for using a food facility onsite and being there for over 20 minutes! How is 20 minutes acceptable to buy and eat food?? Wish I could give minus 5 stars!!!!

BUNCH OF SHARKS ON A FEEDING FRENZY

Just so surprised that stores like M&S and The Range allow these sharks to operate. Parked with a blue badge for 19 minutes - fined £100 - pouring with rain and pitch black meant ineffective signs weren’t visible. Sharks! Bunch of sharks!!!

Shopping bill of £25 turns into £85

Shopped in Marks and Spencer spent £25 was given a 2 hour free parking entitlement from the Store. Entered at 3.15pm left at 4.15pm. A few days later received a £100 Charge. Its quite obvious, this company doesn't benefit the local community just profits from it. Its not even a local company its based in Chester. I didn't bother to appeal despite the evidence because from people's experience the appeals process seems to favour Ocean Parking. This company needs to be forced out by pressure from local Government. They are just a scam operator.

0 Stars - they manipulate evidence routinely

0 Stars.
Rogue company that routinely manipulate and doctoring photographic "evidence".
Manipulating photos is against 7.4 of the IPC Code of Practice, that they are members of. But this is what this company do for a living.
Not the brightest people mind - the photo evidence they used was a white plate as a rear UK plate, and darkened the surroundings of a daytime photo of the front plate to claim it was a rear plate in the dark!
Apparently that is not manipulating evidence!

“Ocean Predator Racket”operates on a model…

Ocean Parking operates on a model designed to maximize profit through penalty charges, not efficient parking management. The signage at their sites is often confusing, inadequate, or strategically placed to be missed, setting a trap for unsuspecting motorists.
I was hit with an egregious charge based on a perceived minor infraction that was completely out of proportion with the supposed 'offence.' Their charges are inflated, exploitative, and feel more like an attempt at daylight robbery than a legitimate fee. They appear to deliberately look for any minute reason—real or imagined—to slap a punitive charge on your windscreen or send a nasty letter demanding money. Be prepared: Ocean Parking will try to fleece you.
Not a good look for the prestigious retailers who operate on their sites such as M&S, Boots, The Range etc

There are people on this earth that…

There are people on this earth that would care nothing to inflict pain on others because of money and profit. This company is example.

On the 28/10/2025 i took my kids to hobby craft in stockport to get items to make poppies as part of school project.I paid for 1hr parking using my Ringo app and little one needed the toilet so rushed in.Unknowningly, the app had selected the wrong which was stockport town centre. There are a few parking sites registered on my account on the app and Peel centre was one of them as i frequently shop here but on this day,i selected stockport town centre instead of peel and paid by card.
Almost three weeks after this incident, the company sent me a parking charge of £60 to pay.I quickly appealed this thinking it was an error with proof of text message indicating i had paid for parking. This company was quick to send an outcome of the appeal rejecting my appeal on the basis that i had paid for parking but at the wrong location. They blocked me from appealing their decision and highlighted that if i go ahead to challenge their decision with the independent body that oversees cases of this nature,i will be liable to pay £120 penalty if i don't win this case.
I don't trust these independent dispute resolution companies.
It's obvious i made an honest mistake because my little one needed the toilet and i was in a haste.Besides,i have always paid for my parking and on this occasion, ocean parking took out money from my bank account for the parking session.

Parking Cowboys

First of all there should be an option for zero stars.
1 star is to high. This rogue outfit are no different from all the other cowboy parking companies. Im not going to waste my time sharing my experience. The only advice I can give to other people who have been scammed by these rogues is do not pay their invoices disguised a 'parking charge notice' Simply ignore them like I have and the uneforcable invoice harrasment letters will eventually stop. Ive had countless 'final' warnings' before court procedings that never proceeded.
