Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 88 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers reported receiving unexpected and high parking charges, often £100 or more, even after believing they had complied with rules or paid. Reviewers frequently encountered issues with payment systems, such as machines not working, taking duplicate payments, or failing to provide receipts. Many people also highlighted confusing or inadequate signage, leading to misunderstandings about parking requirements and charges. The customer service and appeal processes were widely criticized, with people finding them unhelpful, incompetent, and unresponsive to evidence. However, some customers also noted that even with vouchers for free parking or confirmed payments, they still received fines. Additionally, a few reviewers mentioned that fines quickly escalated to debt recovery agencies, making the situation more stressful.

Quite despicable

Isn't it telling that they haven't got a single good review.

In one of their ANPR operated car parks on the day we entered our registration into the machine, it told us a price to pay, we paid it by NFC and got confirmation of payment. Then their machine must have had a glitch as a Teamviewer session came on the screen (remote control software used by T support teams) but we thought nothing of it as we had confirmation of payment and no tickets are required anyway as it is ANPR operated.

Back from holiday we received a PCN and even after showing them proof of payment they refuse to cancel the PCN because their system doesn't show it correctly. Have they learnt nothing from other IT scandals that show IT does go wrong?

Heartless organisation, will see them in court.

exploiting disable people( I think you should allow for no star)

I think you should allow for no star, because this company is the worst I ever had the misfortune of dealing with. I sent a letter to appeal the Parking Charge (£ 100) stating that at the time of the alleged contravention, I had parked in a disabled bay and clearly displayed a valid Blue Badge, there was no clear signage stating that disabled people had to pay, had there been appropriate signage stating that payment was required even for Blue Badge holders, I would have complied. There was no intention to avoid payment, and the failure to do so was due solely to a genuine misunderstanding based on unclear or insufficient signage.

No surprises that this bunch of crooks get a 1 star. I appealed and they didn't respond but sent straight through to a debt agency. Will not be shopping again at the Peel Centre in Stockport , back to the TC, out of principle i would rather go out of my way than risk using the car park again!

Avoid Ocean Parking and their Employers Faciliities

Ocean Parking are a totally unreasonable company. They refuse to accept factual evidence of breach of IPC Code of Practice. The follow on IAS appeal system is neither Independent nor unbiased being owned by William Hurley, the chair of IPC, and partner of Gladstones Solicitors all of whom have a sole interest in maximising profits from parking facilities regardless of the circumstances.
Avoid this parking company at all costs and any retail centres that associate with their practices.

Scam

Scam, parked on a public road with clear signs of parking times set by the local council and fined £200 across two PNC's due to being next to a parking complex they manage.

Very dishonest business.

A total scandal of a company who should be reported for theft along with the landowners who clearly take advantage of a vulnerable general public. I went on site at Knighleys in Towyn North Wales and one machine was not working to pay the fee. I left within minutes and was disgusted to receive a fine of £100.

Totally disgusting vermin if people who run companies like this

Worst of the worst

Worst of the worst. We were fined £100 for disabled badge not displayed clearly when parking in a disabled bay at Princess dock car park. The badge could be seen as shown on their photo evidence but had slipped on the dashboard thereby blocking some of the details on it. Despite sending a full photo of the valid badge as soon as we got the charge the appeal was rejected. Their policy claims that if a valid disabled badge is shown before exiting the car park then the charge will be exempted but we were totally unaware there was a charge until we received it at a later date by post. Nothing on the car to say there was a problem, no staff member asking to see the badge. Sometimes when trying to assist a disabled person who is in a wheelchair and registered blind you may not always be able to do a final check on the badge. Unethical and unreasonable company who have ensured that Moose coffee in the dock is now another place we can’t visit with our disabled daughter as it’s just not worth the hassle of knowing they are actively looking to catch you out over anything they can find to scam more money from you. We simply will not use any of their car parks again and advise everyone to do the same.

fined £100 for shopping 23 minutes longer than allowed

I parked at gloucester quays retail park for 2hrs, 22 minutes and 57 seconds and was fined £100 for it. There's nowhere for disabled people to go to the bathroom in most shops which extended the length of our stay, the entirety of which was otherwise spent visiting several shops at the retail park or eating food purchased here.
I will be finding alternative shops from now on. I don't want to do this, I like some of them, but I don't want to be extorted for having mobility problems.

Horrendous company

Horrendous company. Charged £60 for minutes over allowance in a free-to-use carpark! Appealed with reasons for lateness explained (Special needs children) and wasn't even acknowledged as a human. Minus stars would be more appropriate. What are the landowners thinking pairing up with these absolutely jokers?!

The worst company that can ever exist…

The worst company that can ever exist regarding parking. The scam system they use in Peel Centre
Stockport should be reported at the authorities. You pay, yet it says failed to print a ticket and if you go back on system you should pay again ,I have received numerous parking tickets from this scam company and their appeal team is as ridiculous they could be. Please boycott this company.

Scam? - paid for parking via RingGoApp

***Updated - my appeal was upheld and parking ticket cancelled. Do they even check you've paid on RingGo or just send tickets and see who appeals and has evidence? Will be taking photos of car and sign every time I park now (in addition to RingGo receipt)! ***
I received a parking ticket via this company, saying I didn't have a ticket displayed in my car. However I'd paid for parking via the RingGo app and have evidence for this. This was in Milton Keynes and I definitely paid for the correct type of space I was parked in (standard - with number displayed on post in front of space). Correct car reg, time and car within space etc. I'm waiting to hear on my appeal.
