Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 88 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers reported receiving unexpected and high parking charges, often £100 or more, even after believing they had complied with rules or paid. Reviewers frequently encountered issues with payment systems, such as machines not working, taking duplicate payments, or failing to provide receipts. Many people also highlighted confusing or inadequate signage, leading to misunderstandings about parking requirements and charges. The customer service and appeal processes were widely criticized, with people finding them unhelpful, incompetent, and unresponsive to evidence. However, some customers also noted that even with vouchers for free parking or confirmed payments, they still received fines. Additionally, a few reviewers mentioned that fines quickly escalated to debt recovery agencies, making the situation more stressful.

Tinpot Company

A really professional website that makes them look like a big Company, but a tinpot business hell bent on trying to rip people off. I checked the Directors and their accoounts out on Companies house and they are tinpot. They have POPLA in their pocket so they know they can get away with it. Complete Cowboys. Ocean, Anchior and POPLA. They are supposed to be a professional parking management compabny like Parking Eye, but they are not.

Who on earth runs these companies

Who on earth runs these companies? They are absolute criminals and thieves. Our company was contracted to do some line marking in the car park so we had to be on the car park - yes/no? We were actually maintaining their own car park............ fined and appeal rejected. Think they actually expected the line marker to park the line marking wagon (holding the paint) out of the car park, what a bunch of thick people reading the appeals or just plain thieves. Which one?

It's second time that the company tried to prove that I didn't pay for my parking period. It's not fair because most of us throw away the tickets. I was blessed and kept the tickets as an evidence and sent them as prove. At the end only a simple apology.

Despicable

Horrendous company. I'm disabled and use a mobility scooter. I had my 2 young children will me at peel retail park washington. I've received a fine for being 12 minutes over the 2 hour allowance. I appealed this as I have done with aldi's parking enforcer that due to my disability it takes me longer to load everything in the car. I had done a big shop as well. I sent them my blue badge details. They denied the appeal stating no proof of purchase so I emailed them a copy of my receipt and they replied stating there original decision can't be changed and that I had to pay the fine. Absolutely disgusting for 12 minutes.

Same as many others

Same as many others. Parked at Milton Keynes shopping centre, paid in good faith at the machine but received a PCN for £100. Appral rejected despite retaining the stub. These parasites are clearly just shaking people down. I'll never, ever shop at Mk again.

!!AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

!!AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! Do not provide clear instructions for the car parks and apparently the parking space we parked in belonged to them but the machine 5 yards away belonged to the council so have been unfairly fined. Charlie from customer services was extremely rude I’m not quite sure how he secured a job dealing with customers. Absolute scumbag

Can I give less than 1 star

Can I give less than 1 star? What an awful, money grubbing little racket this is. Parking meter located close to the parking spaces supposedly isn't owned by them. So you can pay parking (to whom??) and still be charged a fine for not paying the right machine. Awful customer service. Do not care about swindling people out of hard earned money. Do not use any car parks registered to these grifters. May you go bust you horrible, dirty landlord scum

Conflicting signs

Conflicting signs. One said "pay on exit". Drive to exit - no machine to pay. Exit park, return and pay (more than the basic charge) via phone. Receive a £100 PCN and further communication informs me I have paid the wrong company! Scammers is putting it mildly. I'd opt for "Parasites". Will not be paying a fine. At best (for them) I will offer to pay the £1.50 to their nominated account. Will never return to the car park and wonder if local businesses fully appreciate the extent of lost business due to this company.

Terrible money making company

Parked at Peel Centre Stockport for 43 minutes and paid &1 for 2 hour parking
A week later got a PCN for £100.
I no longer had the parking stub but submitted an appeal explaining that I did pay, I had to go to 2 meters as the first was out of order.
They rejected & stated they had search for reg number but no record I asked for a full list of registrations to see if I had mid typed this was not provided
When called to pay at the lower rate because I had not paid in 14 days even though appealed had to pay £100 - leniency was given.
How can a 43 mins parking mean they are out of pocket for £100 - how is this justified.
Due to personal situation I couldn’t face the stress of a further appeal & the impact it was having on my mental health.
This company should be ashamed of themselves - total rip off company
Lesson learnt to keep all parking stubs for months

I got a fine for not paying for the full duration of parking in one of these scam company parking space close to the Royal Stoke University Hospital since 2022.
This aweful company did not contact me for over 2 years since the incident. Just got a fine of 320 pounds yesterday threatening me to pay up
What a criminal way of exploiting money. I think this people should have someone regulating them. No evidence was sent . I have even forgotten the day of the incident.
This is just a “daylight robbery”.
I can see loads of terrible reviews about this company.

They have repeatedly sent me fines for going to work and parking on land that belongs to my employers.
Judging by the amount of bad reviews this company has I am going to write to my local MP.
I will not rest until this scam company is shut down for good.

Exactly the same thing has happened to…

Exactly the same thing has happened to me in the same car park as Joanne Fairhurst details.

Again they have immediately reduced the fine to £20.

Maybe everyone should bycott using Milton Keynes shopping area completely and see how long it takes the council to react to their shopping centres losing revenue over this.

It is time we stopped having to pay councils for parking when they already gain from us supporting bricks and mortar shops.

Do not even warrant a 100th of a star.

Ocean parking is a SCAM

Ocean parking is the most PATHETIC excuse for a scam company that I've had the displeasure to deal with.
I took my daughter to Macdonlds in Walsall on 27/01/24, All good. On 15/04/24 I get £170 demand from "Debt recovery plus". I've called them immediately to see why I have this fine, to which "Ocean parking" have issued this as I've not paid my fine.
So I obtain Ocean parking tel no, ask them to shoe me more details on this. To be told 2 letters have been sent to you, that's final. I challenged them to prove this, they won't. I gave to pay the fine or go to court.
I can 100% guarantee that I have not received any correspondence from them.
I also never knew you only get 20 minutes at Macdonlds either. It took my 9yr old daughter 32 minutes apparently to wat it.
What a disgraceful way to steal money from innocent people.
I have contacted the local ombudsman, and in the process of taking legal action against them.

Horrible company with robot like staff

Horrible company with staff that do not deviate from the script. I paid for parking at the time, but the pay station glitched during payment and did not produce a receipt (penguin appeared on screen). I thought I may have to get a new ticket but checked my account and saw that the transaction had gone through. 1 week later, I received a PCN through the post. I immediately appealed this and showed evidence of the transaction on my account. I hadn't heard anything for months so assumed that my appeal was accepted, but last week I received a letter from Debt Recovery Plus stating that I had to pay £170. I tried getting in touch with Ocean directly and they referred me to their information email. I raised the above with them and they claimed that they rejected my appeal 2-weeks after (it went in my junk and then deleted). The reason for rejection was that the reg plate was not put into their system but this was because their own pay station glitched so did not send through the required info!! I told them this but they could not care less, so I provided further information of my initial payment, including the Terminal ID, Authorisation Code and the Acquirer's reference from my bank. I asked Ocean if they could check transactions on the pay station within a 10-minute window on the date but they would do nothing and said that they would not accept multiple appeals. I have shown clear evidence of payment and the error was the fault of their own system, but I'm still having to pay out because they won't follow up on any details. I would have went to court about it but can't risk it affecting my credit score as I'm trying to move out - unnecessary amount of stress added that was not needed. Don't bother ringing Anchor Security Services either because they're in the same office so won't help you with anything. Terrible company - will be getting in touch with the land owners to make them aware of the terrible service (if they aren't already aware).

Do not shop at Gloucester Quays

Outrageous.....despite shopping at their outlets, we were fined £60 for staying a couple of minutes more than 2 hours despite the fact there were 100's of free spaces....we wont shop there again. We have since been contacted by others fined for similar experience and it appears that customers are going to start boycotting the retail park. I can imagine the landlords will be overjoyed
