An amazing tattoist

The whole process of having a tattoo with Olivia was fantastic. Her designs were amazing, but I wanted something a little bit more personal and unique, so Olivia worked with me to find a perfect design.

Her shop is also beautiful and an amazing place to have a tattoo. While there, Olivia made me feel completely at ease and her skills were out of this world. I couldn’t be more happier with my tattoo and would recommend anyone who is looking for a highly skilled tattooist to give her a call.

Stunning ornate shin tattoo by the wonderful Olivia Fayne

I had the pleasure of having an ornate shin tattoo today designed and tattooed by Olivia. It is SO stunning. It looks even more amazing in real life than I could have imagined! Olivia instantly made me feel comfortable, welcome and relaxed. She has the warmest aura and I felt immediately at ease and excited about my tattoo. Everything went perfectly, I can tell she’s a perfectionist with her work, she made sure the placement was 100%
The attention to detail in her designs and her work is like nothing I’ve experienced and I’ve had a lot of tattoos all over the world!
I cannot wait to book back in with Olivia next time she visits Cornwall. However I was willing to come to Leeds for a tattoo and I still would! Thank you so much I absolutely love this beautiful new artwork I have for life xxx

Stay away, absolute con!

Honestly, just read the 1 star reviews and stay away. Her communication was appalling from the beginning. She took 3 months to contact me after I paid the deposit and then hadn’t even got my appointment booked in. Weeks between each email response from then on.

The night before my appointment, at 10:30pm, she changed the time from 2pm to 2:45pm as she “might run over with the client before” so I emailed at 8am the next morning to say I couldn’t make the later appointment time as I had plans. No response. Emailed again explaining I was travelling over an hour to the appointment and so I needed to know by 12pm. Again, no response. Finally, a response at 1:53pm claiming she was ready to tattoo me when I was?! When I didn’t turn up to the appointment, she denied changing it saying I shouldn’t have assumed she couldn’t tattoo me at 2pm just because she might run over. Her reasoning for not replying to my emails was that she saw my email that I couldn’t make 2:45pm so carried on to be ready for 2pm but didn’t bother to let me know.

Her attitude is horrendous, especially considering I was more than polite and patient the entire time than I should have been. A few examples copied and pasted from her emails: “Making plans close l to a tattoo session isn’t very wise? Anything could affect the time on it.” And “if it was me, and I wanted a tattoo from an artist that had travelled I wouldn’t be cancelling the appointment for dinner plans, id deal with running behind and let me friends know. Im Sure they would have understood. It is not my choice that you chose to prioritise that today, and its left you with not getting your tattoo done.” At no point did I say I had dinner plans with friends? and actually my plans were for 5:30pm and much more important than dinner plans with friends! and my appointment was for a maximum of an hour long at 2pm, not exactly close together if the original appointment time was kept. She even added in the email how a woman had recently forgot about her appointment and paid the remainder of the cost of the tattoo anyway, implying I should be sending her the extra £80!!

Me missing the appointment could have been avoided with basic communication.

I asked to rearrange as I had then read the reviews and realised I wouldn’t be getting my £110 deposit back but she wasn’t interested.

The most recent 1 star review before this one is the exact experience I had with this woman. I know the response to this review will be her trying to justify all of this and switch it around to be my fault as she’s done in emails and so I won’t be replying to any response, no matter how absurd :) I seriously regret not googling her name first. It’s a good job her tattooing is pretty because based on communication, attitude and customer service her business would be a shambles!

All self employed women will back this. Call that ‘attitude’ all you like. I’ve had enough of clients like this.

I never changed the time of your appointment. It was a question.

I asked you this the night before, and checked my emails first thing when i woke up around 7am to see you hadn’t replied.

The email said, ‘hey lovely, I’ve a feeling I might run over tomorrow, is 2;45 okay?’

Assuming you hadn’t seen it, i kept to the time and worked towards it. At 10 to 2, I finished my client and started setting up for you. I went on my phone to see you had emailed.

You ‘needed to be home by 4:30 so couldn’t do 2:45’. Said you were assuming I was cancelling your appointment.

I’m tattooing. I can’t check my phone for and didn’t have a break between the appointment 10am to 10 to 2 because I had 4 clients that day.

I missed a trip with my husband and daughter to not even work.

Where is the below!?!!
‘Her reasoning for not replying to my emails was that she saw my email that I couldn’t make 2:45pm so carried on to be ready for 2pm but didn’t bother to let me know. ‘

This was NEVER SAID!

Direct quote:
‘I tried to keep to the 2pm incase you couldn’t as I didn’t hear back last night. So 2pm is still fine..’

When I saw your email after I finished tattooing, the reply you sent me was sent at a time I was en route to the studio then setting up! So i hadnt seen it!

It’s always the ones that write without much friendliness. It’s a red flag I need to pay attention to and stop taking those clients on. Expecting everything to be dropped for them at the click of a finger.

I need to be even clearer that as tattooing takes time, ann appointment may run over as you’re not the only person that matters. Hopefully any clientele like this will go elsewhere.

‘Some people will tell you I’m nice as pie. And others will say the opposite.’ I act accordingly.

I stand by the fact that you should assume the appointment is going ahead. Cancelling was never mentioned!?

The advice I gave you I stand by. It’s not wise booking a plan in after a tattoo. I advise this to everyone.

Seems like you realised something was booked too close so made out I was cancelling.

I text to ask if you were coming. I even said I would appriciate knowing as I have a crazy day so wouldn’t be leaving the studio till I had heard back and really needed to eat.

You see this with so much personal bias you can’t see how the other person is affected.

Why would I want to book someone in that’s not showed up? Wasted 2 hours and cost me money? Kept me hanging when I’ve said I would need to know so i could eat?

Despite that, I said I could, but you would need to pay the amount I lost.

I had a client forget about her appointment. She paid for a 4 hour appointment that she missed with zero complaints, just apologies!

You didn’t come to your appointment.
You didn’t even apologise.
Demanded your deposit back.
Then left a 1* review.

I guess it shows the difference in humans.

I’ve had this business for almost 12 years. You can’t please everyone. That’s just statistics.

Go to a walk in shop with someone not in demand. You won’t get the results you want, but hey, it’s about the constant communication over how good the tattoo is and how much you enjoy the session right? 😶

My attitude here is probably the worst il let it get. Everyone has different sides that come out dependant on how much they are triggered.

I advise people to read reviews from customers who actually spent time with me for hours and are more than happy with their experience, and tattoo. As opposed to the 0.2% of 1*’s from those that never even showed up.

I’m advised not to spend time on silly things like this, my job provides for my child and I won’t allow lies to taint the real picture.

The artist loses earnings when you don’t show up, and has every right to keep that deposit to recuperate some of that loss.

You forgot to mention I sent you your designs.
Business’s- avoid this client!

Beautiful first tattoo

Olivia is amazing, so incredibly talented and made me feel completely at ease. This was my first tattoo and I wasn't even sure exactly what I wanted but Olivia was great at interpreting my thoughts. I was terrified it would hurt but it really didn't at all and her mannerism is so relaxing. I am all ready planning my next. I saw her in Bristol on her tour which is a 2 hour drive for me but I would happily travel 6 hrs to see her in Leeds. She is totally worth it!

Beautiful dainty tattoos

Beautiful dainty tattoos. Olivia is lovely and the whole session was comfortable, friendly, engaging. Will definitely be getting more tattoos from her when she’s back in Bristol.

Olivia custom designed my tattoo and I…

Olivia custom designed my tattoo and I visited her in Bristol. She took note of all the design features I wanted and was happy to change a few things around if I needed to but it was love at first sight!
She was enthusiastic, even after a long day of tattooing and I felt so comfortable with her. She made sure everything was right before she got started and throughout the whole process made sure I was comfortable.
I’d definitely recommend getting a tattoo with Olivia, especially a custom piece because it felt like she put everything into it, nothing was any trouble and it means everything to me. X

Book Olivia for your next tattoo!

I’m so pleased with the tattoo that Olivia designed and tattooed for me, already considering getting another! She was happy to edit the design and took time to make sure I was happy with the size and placement. She double checked I was ok and ready and checked I was ok throughout. Would highly recommend Olivia!

A total pleasure!

It was a total pleasure having a tattoo with Olivia! She was so lovely and thoughtful and managed to make it work with dates and times so me and my sister could have our tattoos done together. The design was totally perfect and I'm already planning my next trip back to her!

The BEST first experience!

I have wanted a tattoo for YEARS but with a fear of needles and the typical tattoo studio, I had just kept putting it off. Then I came across Olivia and Anthologie. The studio has a spa-like vibe and is so different from the traditional studio... also with Olivia specialising in fine-line, it felt like the perfect time.

Before I share all the positives, one thing I do want to mention is I would have liked to understand when I would hear from Olivia ahead of the appointment as I was starting to panic when I had paid the deposit and hadn't heard from her. The way that she works is once you receive a date and pay your deposit, the date is secured and she will work on your design the day prior. Now I know this, I would feel content if I was to book in again but it was the not knowing this that left me feeling unsure whether my appointment would go ahead. This does not reduce my star rating though!

Olivia was truly incredible at picking up what I wanted from our conversation and tweaking the design to make it perfect, even whilst I was sat in the studio. I felt no pressure to go ahead until I was happy and this meant a lot. Olivia really understands anxiety and made sure I felt calm and comfortable throughout the process (the studio certainly helped - it is really beautiful and to such a high standard of quality).

I am so so happy with my tattoo and I love it more than I thought I would. During the tattoo, Olivia said that there were some areas she was leaving slightly lighter because we can always top it up after but of course you can’t make it lighter once done. A week later and I feel there will definitely be a few areas I want darkening up but she has said after 6 weeks when it is fully healed, we can book me back in for a top up and this is included in the price I already paid. Her attention to aftercare is just brilliant.

Honestly, Olivia has a serious talent and she earns my highest recommendation when it comes to fine-line tattoos and her understanding of how people feel. Thank you Olivia and see you soon xo

Extortionate Deposits, Took her to court and Got My Money Back.

Note - Olivia Fayne tried to remove my review claiming to TrustPilot that I am lying and making false claims, as you can see the review has been posted because it was seen that my experience was real.

Similar to all the other bad reviews, I paid a hefty deposit under the guise of a 2 sentence T&C. I emailed numerous times to discuss the custom design but with little to no communication leading up to the appointment.

After reaching out on all her social media accounts, she finally got back to the day before. She changed the timing of the appointment (despite the fact I was travelling from London to Leeds and any changes would impact me heavily) and said that I need to send the needed design for the custom design. She has finally admitted to changing the time in her comment below. The original appointment was 1pm. My deposit covered the first hour until 2pm. She changed the appointment to 3:30pm but still wanted to keep my money to cover her losses? What losses? She is the one that did not uphold my appointment time. Finally, any claims that I changed the appointment can now be put to bed.

I wasn't able to provide it at such short notice and "T&Cs" does not cover what I am entitled to, if she changes the appointment so I agreed to rearrange, because you have no choice... and again didn't hear back for months so decided I wanted my deposit back.

Was flat out refused because I signed the T&C about the deposit being non-refundable if "I change the appointment" even though I didn't, she did.

I took her to court. I looked into Consumer Rights, and turns out, non-refundable deposits must be a small percentage of the overall payment whereas Olivia Fayne takes over 70% as a non-refund deposit.

She became defensive, rude, claiming she has "clients all around the world who come for her" and doesn't have time for me.

I offered to settle out of court for half of the session deposit and full custom design fee back as at that point it had been 8 months and still no design that supposedly "will be sent once I'm in the studio".

I got no response, so it went to Court and she didn't show up. Baffled me because now she was ordered by the court to pay me my full claim and cover court fees.

In the end, I got my money back and she has changed her T&Cs to 3 sentences now, still stating that you have no right over your deposit even if she makes any faults which is in breach of Consumer Rights Act 2015 Section 62 Part 4

"A term is unfair if, contrary to the requirement of good faith, it causes a significant imbalance in the parties’ rights and obligations under the contract to the detriment of the consumer."

Olivia will claim this being a "technicality".

In conclusion, if you choose Olivia, you may get a great tattoo if it all goes to plan. But if there is any hiccup, (from the reviews it's almost always an issue on her end), you can expect to then be met by a rude individual who has no interest in having a reasonable conversation because "you agreed to the terms and conditions xxx". A contract that is riddled with Consumer Right breaches.

I decided after this long to put in a review after I read the other 1 star reviews and realised we are all victim to the same situation, and wanted to let people know If you do end up in this situation, you have rights and I suggest you look into Small Claims Court like I did.

Edit: currently taking this customer to court for slander, deformation and harassment. When I wrote this out I pasted all emails proving my comments below but it only allows 4,000 characters so iv’e had to remove the direct quotes as some of the emails are long. But if anyone wants to see them I have them all documented.
2 days before your appointment you emailed ‘My tattoo is booked for Tuesday and I will be having to travel from London for it. I just want to confirm that this is still going forward as I haven't heard anything or seen a design.'
I reach out the day before.
Usual standard is for the design to be created on the day.I feel like it’s better for the client for it to be created the day before. I got the sense from your email it might not now work for you, so I decided to offer you a date change if needed. I even said it would work for me if you did want to change dates.
My reply was letting you know I wasn’t ignoring you, id just recently weeks prior had a baby girl so I wasn’t on emails and had just got back from my hen do, said if you were unsure we could rearrange and did you have the ECG of dogs heartbeat so I could create the design as you hadn’t sent it at the point. Asked to move it to 3:30 (didn’t provide a reason as it was personal, il expand later.)
Weird looking back through these emails as at the time I didn’t even know I had post natal depression so bare with if you think im being oversensitive about this.
In hindsight, I shouldn’t have been eager to please by getting you in early as requested but I hate letting people down.
You didn’t have the ECG I needed to create the design.
Your reply:
Hi Olivia,
Thank you for getting back to me. Apologies I thought I had sent it with the original request form, I think it's best we rearrange to another day as I don't have the ECG on me at the moment to be able to send it to you. I'll send it tomorrow morning. Please let me know what day and time works best for you.
As you can see, YOU opted for a date change. So where you have written 'I didn’t change the appointment she did', that’s evidently a flat out lie.
The reason I requested later was because when I initially offered this time, I was breast feeding. Unfortunately due to having post natal I was no longer producing and our baby went onto formula, It takes time to develop some form of routine. Lunch time ended up naturally being when she would feed and because I was trying to bond with her, I wanted to do the feeds.
I did ask if it was okay in the email.
You could have said no.
Industry standard is to lose your deposit and be charged a new one.
I didn’t do this. You didn’t lose any money, I did. 2-3 hours of work.
2 days later yous sent the ECG.
I hadn’t had any email from you to rearrange your appointment after I reached out. Lets not forget it was you that asked to change the date as you didn’t have the ECG I needed.
instead, I receive the email pasted below:
Hi,
I'm really sorry but due to changes in my circumstances I can't get the tattoo anymore.
Please refund the deposit to the following account. Again, sorry for the inconvenience.'
So, you’ve cancelled the app due to not having the ECG needed to create the design. Im a few hours of work down, you’ve not messaged to rearrange after cancelling and your’e asking for a non refundable deposit back because of your own personal circumstances? No artist will receive this well.
I was nothing but polite back and explained about the deposit being paid upfront to artist to recover some loss of earnings for cancelations and you cont. to send threat after threat. My husband told me to just pay it and focus on our new family so I did. Months later I get harassment on all business platforms spreading lies of some court case that never happened. Like youre doing here - AGAIN.
Im sorry it never worked out, and for what part I played in this appointment not happening. But this isn't the way to go about life. I hope it filled a hole for you. (Y)
