Points who?…

As a user I find it incredible that points collected towards bookings of restaurants are not automatically collected but I have to “select” to collect my point each and every time. This is terrible experience and you can forget about me using this crappy app

If I could give zero stars I would…

If I could give zero stars I would have. I booked a table for 113 a restaurant in Bristol. I had two emails confirming my booking. On the day we arrived to be told the restaurant was closed ( the staff were eating). I pointed out the confirmations. The owner said he had messaged me - no email received, I even checked my junk. The owner said he would serve us but said their card machine was not working and that we would have to pay cash or do a bank transfer plus there was a 20% additional charge because it was Christmas. This was ridiculous and of course we declined what seemed to be obstructions to us eating there. My friend had come from London- each time we eat in different restaurants, travelling the world in Bristol which is lovely but this time it was not possible. We managed to get a table at a friendly Italian, Ciao , behind the Hippodrome which was a fabulous lift after the disappointment and unfriendly welcome at 113. OpenTable have a useless online only customer service which involved over an hour of me having to type my issues with their service. They offered me points to add to my account but that is hardly suitable when I will never use their service again.

Never pay a deposit via OpenTable

Encourages restaurants to take deposits that don’t come off the bill.

As a customer I had to wait 18 days after dining with a large group for a refund thanks to a combination of the restaurant not caring to activate the refund then OpenTable taking 10 days to refund.

Will never pay a deposit via OpenTable again.

TERRIBLE COMPANY WITH SALES ADVISORS…

TERRIBLE COMPANY WITH SALES ADVISORS WHO WORK ROUND THE CLOCK TO ENSURE YOU SIGN FALSE DOCUMENTS, AND THEN THEY TELL YOU TO PAY FOR A PRODUCT THAT YOU DIDNT SIGN UP FOR. James rejer, missold open table product to me, and now I'm being told I can cancel but must pay for the whole year for a product I cancelled within 30 days.

The Grouse & Ale

The Grouse & Ale, Lane End, Bucks.
It is with regret that I have to make a complaint against one of your restaurants.
Before booking we looked at the website and were delighted to find everything we would wish for, for lunch.
We have eaten many times before and therefore we made a table booking for 4 (1 Gluten Free) to be on the safe side.
Upon arrival everything was fine and were shown to the table. As we had a gluten free lady (who has a complete intolerance to gluten) I went to ask for the gluten free menu, to be pointed out by one of your servers, gluten can be catered for. I asked was Ham, egg, and chips available to be told no. Why was it on the menu on your website then, was my reply. That’s not my problem was the servers answer. Would you like to see the manager. Yes please. A person arrived to inform us it was the menu or nothing. I said the buck stops with you the manager. To which he replied I’m not the manager but I am !!!!!
At this I asked my party to leave and we found another restaurant who were more than happy to cater for gluten free needs.
To say how cross I was I putting it mildly. I used to promote your establishment but from now on I will not.

Used to be great

My first experience of Open Table was great. I'd been waiting years for an app that could allow me to simple reserve a table at any time, the app was fast & the restaurant selection was always growing. Now unfortunately I think the app has become over complicated & the restaurant selection has become poor.

I have an account with Open Table and am trying to get a response to my outstanding issue but every email I try to respond to bounces back as the email is unmonitored.
In addition the links provided do not work.
If I can’t talk to someone how am I expected to resolve my ongoing issue. It’s beginning to feel like they do not want to engage with me.

Scammers

Good morning restaurateurs
One of the biggest con artists is Opentable; please don't even consider doing business with them. They made a tonne of promises when I signed, and they don't even care to remember them. The worst part is that they keep promising they will clarify during a Zoom meeting, which never happens as planned. Nice day, despite the fact that your account was not activated, you will receive an invoice for roughly £200. Please avoid them as they are the best con artists. Their software is terrible, especially if you're not tech savvy. They'll tell you it's the greatest system ever, but when it comes to training, even the trainers don't know what they're teaching you.

Do not work with this company.

They make you stay with them for 6 months until you can leave and make you pay £150 a month plus £2 per cover for nothing as they don’t even help you get dinners. When you ask to leave they say you’ve to pay for the months left, when they are not doing anything to help you or brining income like promised. If anything lose more money. When someone contacted us as we wanted to leave they showed us marketing things they use and charge even more per cover! So wanting further money from us. As we are a small family restaurant this is beyond a joke as some of our customers come in for just coffee and cake so we are not earning anything if we have to pay them per month as well as per cover. They just want you to sign up and pay, they don’t care about the smell businesses. Definitely not helpful for small businesses and there are a lot cheaper apps out there. Over the next 5 months we have to pay £800 for nothing, we feel lied to and disappointed that this compay would treat small business like that. Would give 0 starts if we could. Awful and I can’t wait till we can finally leave.

Shame on You.

We booked a table for 8 on the evening of 29 September 2023 at Diba Richmond, re-confirmed by email from OpenTable on 28 September.
Diba Richmond was closed due to a fire two months previously, calls to the restaurant were diverted to Diba Wimbledon.
On 2 October 2023 OpenTable requested a review of our visit despite being aware of its closure.

Booked table at BBKINGS Memphis

Booked table at BBKINGS Memphis. Traveling from Ireland and limited time. Received cancellation notice 2vdays before I leave. Not even an apology. Pathetic.

Even funnier. Nearly a year after this review I received an email saying my reservation was cancelled and thanks for letting them know. Day after got an apology saying system glitch and my reservation was unaffected! Someone lend me a De Lorean.

Not fit for purpose

Trying to find a restaurant in a particular location in London. Unfortunately clicked on a link before I realised it was OpenTable. It brought up a large number of restaurants - in BIRMINGHAM. Will be careful in future before I click on a link. Also I always try to avoid restaurants which use this awful company.

This incompetent of a company will let any Tom dick and Harry use your email address without prior authentication to reserve tables, which results in you recieving spam in your inbox.

If email address is going to be used, put a verification process in.

My god good luck trying to get an email address to contact them.

The app is mystifying

The app is mystifying. How did you make it so complicated/inefficient ? Where is the simple feature of looking for a restau in one area for one given time. Its seems 65 menus need to be navigated.. i give up ill have to go back on your site

Dining Rewards on Open Table UK

Thieves send dining cheque in the “post” it gets lost. You forget. When you remember you try to contact them. They have non phone number and their chat bot has no option for dining cheque list in the post. Why do they send it in the post? And not via email. Presumably do it gets lost. Anyhow I chased. And after emailing a management team I got a redo Jae from a junior telling me how wonderful they wish to make a clients dining experience but as the rewards cheque was lost I had to wait 6 months for it to expire and for them to see it’s not used before they would reissue me with a rewards cheque. Thieves!
