Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 241 reviews, most reviewers were unhappy with their experience overall. Many customers reported significant issues with their orders, frequently experiencing delays and receiving food that was cold or unappetizing. Reviewers also expressed dissatisfaction with the quality of the products, noting that pizzas had diminished in size, lacked sufficient toppings, or tasted unpleasant. The delivery service was a common point of contention, with many orders arriving late or not at all, and tracking systems often proving unreliable. Some people were dissatisfied with the staff, describing them as unhelpful, rude, or difficult to communicate with, particularly when issues arose with orders. Conversely, a small portion of people felt that the pizzas were very well flavored and enjoyed the stuffed crust, and some also praised the friendly and welcoming staff.

A very bad experience!

Again, just a very bad experience with Papa Johns Crawley!
Again, my two pizzas came scrambled!
Just a disgrace!
Why they don’t do anything to improve?
I’m so sick of this!

Absolutely appalling service from Papa…

Absolutely appalling service from Papa Johns.

Order number: 83706196

We placed an order worth £126, and the pizzas were never delivered. The store claimed the driver had attempted delivery, called us, and left voicemails — however, there was absolutely no record of any calls or voicemails on our phones.

To confirm this, we even reviewed CCTV footage covering the property, which clearly showed that no delivery driver ever arrived at the address.

After we contacted the store — over 120 minutes after originally placing the order — we were told the driver would be sent back out with the food. However, when we called again 25 minutes later to check on the delivery, we were then told the store had decided to cancel the order instead.

What made the situation even worse was the way the store handled the complaint. I spoke to the store twice, and neither the female staff member nor the male staff member I was handed over to would identify themselves, even when asked for the purpose of making a formal complaint. They refused to issue a refund despite acknowledging the food had not been delivered, and they also refused to provide any help or information regarding the complaints procedure.

£126 taken for food that never arrived, no accountability, no customer service, and no willingness to resolve the issue properly. Completely unacceptable experience.

Double charged, please be aware of the app when ordering…

The food was okay, a bit overpriced for just standard pizzas. What I’m really upset about and what’s compelled me to write this review is the fact that I was charged twice for the same order due to a technical glitch on the app. We called the Papa John’s immediately after the glitch occurred because our order wasn’t confirmed, but the funds were taken. This was NOT a pending charge, the funds had been taken from our account. When we called, the worker didn’t have any record of our first order and said there was “nothing they could do to help” so we had to place our order again and we had no choice but to dispute the first charge with our bank. I understand this is not the worker’s fault, but PLEASE get that app fixed to ensure something like this doesn’t happen again to other people too. It’s very inconvenient, stressful and frustrating to have to dispute this charge and have to wait for however long to get £33 refunded to our account…

Terrible

Terrible! Ordered from Papa John’s for the first time in years and honestly wish I hadn’t bothered. It used to be really good, but this was a huge letdown. The pizza arrived cold, the base tasted stale, and the whole thing was just bland and disappointing. £40 completely wasted. Definitely won’t be ordering again—should’ve gone for a Chinese instead.

Awful company

Awful company. I received a Papa John's order via Deliveroo, which contained a side order of chicken combo. After eating most of the smaller pieces, I bit into a large chicken peice only to discover it was RAW. I had abysmmal responses from both Papa John's AND Deliveroo. They BOTH refused to investigate, refused to contact the outlet unless they had a photo. I explained I had thrown the food in the bin and that a photo would nOT show RAW chicken anyway but they just kept saying they would not refund me without a photo. I said repeatedly I wasn;t even asking for a refund - i just wanted someone to speak to the Papa john's outlet as they barely speak English so impossible me trying. 5 different emails i received from Deliveroo and Papa johns, each time just a different person saying they needed a photo and refused to contact Papa Johns or do anything. unbelievable, unprofessional and totally unacceptable responses from both companies. Papa johns refused to investigate even though its one of their franchises, said i had to speak to Deliveroo. So ridiculous! I didnt want compensation, I just wanted someone to investigate why this outlets food and hygiene standards are so low they are serving RAW chicken in their combos. Papa Johns just shelved responsibility onto Deliveroo. And yet its one of their franchises? Just reported it to the Environmental health services at the council instead. Won't be buying Papa John's again. A shame because the pizzas are usually quite nice, but always arrive cold. But i dont want food poisoning from RAW chicken so it's no go. `neither company cares about customers getting food poisoning.

Extremely Disappointing Experience at Papa John’s West Ealing

I’ve been ordering from Papa John’s West Ealing for a long time, and I’ve never experienced anything like what happened today. The pizza we received was completely bland and honestly the worst we’ve had from this branch.

When I called to report the issue, I spoke to someone who said her name was Alisha. Instead of listening or trying to help, she was extremely rude from the start. She even accused me of lying when I calmly explained the problem. When I asked to speak to the manager, she claimed she was the manager — but her behaviour was so unprofessional, disrespectful, and argumentative that it was hard to believe.

She couldn’t communicate clearly, didn’t seem to understand what I was saying, and spoke to me in a confrontational way, as if she wanted to argue rather than resolve anything. I’ve never come across such behaviour at this branch before. In the past, whenever I had an issue, the team handled it politely and professionally.

This experience was completely unacceptable. Someone needs to look into this and speak to her, because no customer should be treated this way.

Avoid dishonest Hayes branch of Papa Johns

After waiting 2 hours for my order, the system still stated 'on its way', I called Papa John's Hayes only to be told lies about my phone number being incorrect and therefore the driver could not call me! What has that got to do with delivering the order to my address?

I have ordered from the Hayes branch numerous times so aware of possible wait of upto an hour which is terrible yes but I accounted for it. Drivers have never ever called me prior to delivery and we have always tipped them well so I know this was a lie.

He told me the driver cancelled the order, which I said was fine. Has my money been returned? No, he said, his manager must authorise and he cannot get hold of her! He stated the order could be prepared and delivered instead, I politely declined and requested my full refund given the order had already been cancelled.

The worker continuously gaslighted and provoked me to anger repeating the same lie and ignoring my request for funds I paid to be returned!

He still refused stating his manger had to authorise cancellation of order (which had already been cancelled by the driver)! As if hoping I would relend and accept the order be made up 2 hours after I placed it!

Please avoid this branch at all costs, they are dishonest and if there is one thing I hate, its dishonesty.

When I asked for his name, he seemed to have to think about it so I am even concerned he gave another workers name hence I am not referencing it here!

Only after threatening to write to head office did he then say he had spoken to his manager and would refund my money! Another lie as he had been on the phone with me!

It is then, I received notification of "There's a problem' (a change from 'on its way'). This confirms he lied about the delivery driver having cancelled the order.

My blood pressure has not been so high. Avoid avoid avoid!

I am still waiting for my refund and will follow through with contacting head office to get my money back.

If I could rate this place a 0 I would

If I could rate this place a 0 I would.
I have waited for 2 hours for my pizza. I had called the shop and placed an order, the worker said my order had been placed and will take 35 minutes. I had called 4 times whilst waiting and every time I called the worker huffed and had a very bad attitude. On the 3rd call they said that the driver was down my road, 40 minutes later I called for the last time and got told that my order didn’t go through and the man started swearing at me and calling me impatient. Very dissatisfied with this customer service.

I have ordered papa johns in a weekly…

I have ordered papa johns in a weekly basis for the last 10 years Tonight’s was the worst pizza I have ever had. Not cooked properly. Base still has raw dough. It was so chewy and just awful. I know they were on special offer but would be hesitant to order again. They were awful I ordered 2xxl and both were as bad as each other I’m not sure what the black spots were under the base but now thinking it was mould. So disappointing

Dear Customer Service Team,

Dear Customer Service Team,

Order Number: 83322470
Order Date: 06 April 2026, 22:56
Branch: Camden High Street

I am a regular guest at your Camden High Street branch and have been visiting since the branch first opened. Unfortunately, during my most recent experience I was very disappointed by the way my family and I were treated.

On the evening of 6 April, while I was driving, we called the Camden High Street branch to place a pizza order. A female team member answered the phone and my daughter clearly mentioned that we wanted to order a pizza. Without asking any questions to clarify the order, the team member simply hung up the call.

We called again shortly afterwards. This time a male team member answered the phone. When my daughter again said that we wanted to order a pizza, the team member loudly said “f***” and hung up the call. My children were present and the call was on loudspeaker, so they heard this language. We attempted to call again several times but the staff refused to answer.

As a result, we decided to place the order online and selected the option to collect it from the Camden High Street branch.

When we arrived at the branch, I asked to speak to a manager. The female team member told me there was no manager on site, and a male team member then approached. Both confirmed they had answered the calls earlier and explained that they behaved that way because they had been receiving prank calls.

However, this does not justify hanging up on customers or using offensive language, especially when children are involved. The female team member was dismissive and did not appear to understand that her behaviour was inappropriate. The male team member attempted to justify his use of the word “f***” by saying he was speaking to someone else on another line.

My family and I were extremely upset by the way we were treated. Although both employees eventually apologised, it took a long time and did not feel sincere.

As a regular customer, I expect to be treated with basic respect and professionalism. I hope this matter will be taken seriously and that appropriate steps will be taken to ensure that other customers do not have a similar experience.

I look forward to your response.

Kind regards,
Joao Miguel
