Warning: Do not use this service
Do not use this service. There is widespread theft taking place of packages and the company couldn't care less. I reported a missing package as stolen to the PSNI, the police said they and the guards are aware and say they are receiving daily reports from customers of theft. I had used Parcel Motel frequently over the years, now stuff goes missing all the time. Seriously; avoid. If you lose a high value item they offer you €100 compensation which never arrives.
Sent my parcel to a buyer through…
Sent my parcel to a buyer through parcel motel only to have it returned to me a week later with half of the product missing. I was charged twice for delivery. Would not recommend this service.
Never again will I use this incompetent…
Never again will I use this incompetent service. Used JDs free delivery with them to return trainers and 5 weeks later, JD still haven't received them. Nothing has been updated online and keep getting generic responses from 'Trisha'. What an absolute joke. I'd give them zero stars if I could
They don't care
They are only getting one star because you have to rate them with something. This us the 2nd time items have gone missing. This morning was my child's Christmas present. The package was re badged with there tape saying " repackaged in transit". The office staff are useless because the simple dont give a s###. So its downto the courier, picking and choosing what they want to steal. Because they know that they will get away with it. Knowing the office staff just don't care. How they can get away with this is incredible. So much for trusting an Irish company. Closing my account ASAP. DONT TRUST THEM.
Only refund €100 for item they lost that cost €200
I’m done with parcel motel. They lost or stole my parcel that they checked in as oversized. I drove 80k to collect it only to be told it was missing ? I waited over 2 hours while they searched but never turned up, I was assured a manager would phone me the next day. Nobody phoned me. I phoned them but nobody available in depot. I emailed them over and over for 2 months and eventually was asked to send invoice for goods as they were lost. The goods cost me €210 and I sent the invoice. It took another month to reply to me saying they would only refund €100as that’s the liability in their terms and conditions. How can this be fair? They lost or stole my parcel? Why don’t they pay for it?
No good
My package was lost but it took me a full month of constantly ringing and e-mailing to get them to 'fess up. Then they tell me I'm only entitled to 100 euro of a claim. I guess that's my fault for not reading the small print. Will never use again.
A TOTAL DISASTER
three times in two weeks they have mislaid my parcels, the customer service has gone to be ridiculous at this stage. My advice is to use DPD parcel wizard I'm so glad I made the change
Parcel Motels "extra insurance" - they dont believe me
I bought Parcel Motels "extra insurance" to send my laptop to my brother who repairs laptops to reset my windows password which I had forgotten. Nothing else was wrong with the laptop.
When my brother received it, it was extremely damaged- it's like they put a fridge on the box in a van- the screen was completely smashed.
My brother was able to fix it, but he took pictures and said there is no way to cause this damage without really abusing the package.
Anyway, I had it in a box, tightly protected, "fragile" text, everything. I ticked all the right boxes and marked the "batteries"- everything I could do to let them handle with care. They said the box "wasn't strong enough" and that it was my fault it broke. I thought this response was pretty unreasonable as I would have expected a bare minimum duty of care for my fragile package. A laptop isn't even that fragile- the way they broke the screen is like they laid the full foot of a piano leg on the middle of the laptop! I carry other my work-laptop everywhere and I've never damaged it.
So don't bother buying extra insurance for damage of contents because unless your package goes on fire they won't believe you.
This is the second package that I had a problem with. One other time I got a notification that my package was in the warehouse with a photo of it, then i heard nothing for a week- then they said it was lost- I emailed about 5 times, and it was permanently lost in their warehouse. But that time they paid me €100 in Parcel Motel credit, which was annoying as the package was €140, but they told me I should have bought the "extra insurance"......... which is why I bought the extra insurance. Well ....don't!!
They are generally fine for buying small orders from Amazon- I will give them an extra one star for that, as they have no competitors so I still have to use them.
Phone Stolen at Parcel Motel Depot
There are MAJOR theft issues at Parcel Motel depots. I would highly advise against sending anything through them. I ordered a €250 phone and two €40 video games from Currys UK with DPD as the delivering party. The package was signed for by "Paul" (most likely a fake name) and mysteriously never showed up in their system. After a week of emailing and phoning support, the package apparently turned up that Friday. The support representative from Parcel Motel claimed that it had been sent without a PMID and that it was found in their queries department. This is a lie as I can see from the DPD tracking page that a PMID was included.
My package then turned up on Saturday with the phone missing! The original packaging from DPD was nowhere to be seen and instead just the two video games were sent in a plain grey plastic bag with a label printed on it. I took a video of me opening the parcel motel door to find this in case they dispute this during my refund attempt (I would highly recommend doing this).
I contacted Parcel Motel immediately that day and was told that this was escalated to a supervisor. It is now six days later and I have received no response to my request for a refund (which apparently will only extend to €100 anyway). There is absolute radio silence now from Parcel Motel.
It's hard to believe that they are getting away with this. Management seem to be asleep at the wheel and are letting this theft continue unchecked. I had previously had no issues with Parcel Motel over the last few years, but it seems like some recent hires at their depots have led to systemic theft and management are absolutely useless in stopping it. You have been warned!
UPDATE: On the bright side, a month and a half after reporting my phone as stolen, Parcel Motel have finally sent me the maximum liability of €100. I am still down a good chunk of money, however and the refusal to investigate how my phone was stolen is very disappointing. I won't be using Parcel Motel again after this experience.
Currently dealing with a "lost" parcel…
Currently dealing with a "lost" parcel and getting nowhere. I was aware the sender had not put my PM number on the parcel, so I entered tracking details, etc. into the Parcel Diary ahead of delivery AND emailed PM to alert them of this. Despite my preemptive measures, the parcel was still not linked to me upon arrival. At first, PM seemed helpful and actually located the parcel (it had been assigned to the account of another PM user with a similar name - I guess no one at PM bothers to check if tracking info has been entered into the Parcel Diary!) but then once the parcel was re-collected by Nightline, it was apparently lost on a Nightline van! Utterly infuriating.
What’s gone wrong at Parcel Motel?
I have used this company since 2014 with no hassle up until recently where it appears to be falling apart. A package of mine arrived at the Depot three weeks ago but all attempts to get it have failed. Multiple emails and phone calls are of no use in recovering the item. I don’t hold out any hope of getting the parcel or a refund. Will change to AddressPal from now on. Avoid.
Have been a customer for a long time…
Have been a customer for a long time with over 600 packages delivered
Have had two or three occasions where parcels have gone awry and one I m dealing with now. Absolutely appalling customer service. Have called 11 times now and have got precisely nowhere. Visit the depot in Cork and apparently there is no-one who works for Parcel motel you can speak to there nor for the nightline group They are obviously rudderless there in Cork . Waiting on the phone for 30 mins , no contact back.
Contacted UPS the new parent co to help and contacted Nightline group the original parent company and again unable to help but agreed to escalate.
Ridiculous carry on.
Don't Trust Parcel Motel
Is doing 1 week that my parcel have been delivery to Parcel Motel and I call everyday since the first day and they say "Is on the van and will be delivery today"...I would love my days also had 1week length ... This is ridiculous...Is a very bad company, no professional and I think I will never see my parcel. DON'T TRUST THEM!!
Lost an 11kg parcel
Would rate zero if I could, they lost an 11kg parcel worth 300euros. HOW THE HELL DO YOU LOSE THAT. I called and called, they never updated me. STAY AWAY.
Never again
I've been calling everyday, more than once a day asking where is my parcel and been told that was in certain warehouse and should be delivered today, called again today and they dont know where is my parcel. I've paid more than 100 euros just for the parcel motel service and they simply dont know where is my parcel, when is REALLY going to be delivered. Worst service ever!!!!!
Clearly a problem with theft at their own offices.
I purchased a phone phone and and it was delivered by the courier and signed for at the address in Antrim.
The parcel never showed up in my account. Multiple emails and phone calls later and after a warehouse search they told me that my parcel is "lost".
Judging by the other reviews on this site in the last 30 days, theft is an issue in this company and I will never use them again.
Careless, disrespectful, horrible
Parcel Motel is a careless and disrespectful company. They lost my parcel and are offering to refund only a third of its value. I've been waiting all of October for the delivery, and they lost the parcel in their own warehouse. Horrible customer service.
They have a parcel valued at €500…
Edit: They now claim my €500, 20kg item is lost in their depot. I now have a second item showing as delivered but no sign. I have been using the service for years but they clearly have a theft issue in the Dublin depot that needs to be addressed. Will not be using again. Customer service is pathetic also.
They have a parcel valued at €500 belonging to me. It’s been checked into my account for the last 3 weeks but has not been forwarded. Customer service are useless, just telling me what I can see on my own account and the depot apparently can’t be contacted even by customer service. Absolutely shocking service, where I’m essentially being robbed.
Shocking Customer Service
Shocking Customer Service
Parcel is showing as checked in, since 15th October, I'm an hour on the phone and no answer from customer support. This isn't the first item to go missing with their Belfast Hub, but at least back then customer support would answer the phone. Totally unprofessional.
Really poor customer service
Really poor customer service I have unfortunately got the same person I can’t say lady each time I have called and emailed. Each time she sends a generic email with no relevance to my query. Now the parcel has arrived almost 4 days later and it has been opened and repackaged. I am not sure if all of the items are present. During covid times you’d imagine it is basic to advise that the package has been inspected or opened. I have contacted customer care again this morning and yes same unhelpful person advised to send pictures!! I will not be using parcel motel again and I advise people to pay the extra.
