DO NOT ADD YOUR CREDIT CARD - SCAM!!

DO NOT ADD YOUR CREDIT CARD TO THE ACCOUNT, WHEN THEY ASK YOU TO IN ORDER TO REFUND YOU - IT'S A SCAM!!
They asked me add my card to my parcel motel account so that they can refund the remaining funds since they are shutting down the service.
Instead of providing refund they stole more money from my card without any authorisation!
No reply to emails, nobody answers the phone.
Thieves!
Relevant legal steps are being undertaken in that matter.

This is scam

UPS is closing Parcel Motel operations in Ireland. The company works in a top-up model and it's not answering emails for refunds of the remaining amount now that the operations are closing down.

We received no QR code to be able to…

We received no QR code to be able to collect our parcel, and the other option to collect a parcel is to enter a phone number and then they ask for a PIN that we never received. Unbelievable. No phone number for assistance.

Company is shutting down

A package of mine arrived earlier this week. I got an 'insufficient funds' text message. Even when I topped up, they still won't release it. Seems like they are already shut down, as half their website doesn't work, and there is no way to contact them. So I wrote them an angry letter on behalf of all of us customers. I have a few more packages arriving at their depot. After reading these other reviews, I am scared that I am never going to recieve €750+ worth of my stuff.

Update: The rest of my other stuff arrived and got checked in. They still won't check in my package from last week. As I said in my other review, make sure you top up your account before your package arrives, or you will never get it. You can only use PayPal to top up, not your bank card.

Update #2: PM has released everything for delivery, including the package from last week. UPS is still holding them and they won't deliver anything to the parcel locker. Their tracking page still says expected on the 17th from 12 to 4. It's never easy to get your stuff from these companies, PM or UPS. I'm going to call UPS tomorrow morning, because at least they actually have a phone number.

Update #3: Turns out PM never released my stuff, they just put a fake Outbound status for each of the checked in parcels. Now they are checked in again under new UPS tracking numbers, and they charged me again. Basically, they double charged me. Come on, PM! Stop lying and scamming me and just deliver my damn package already!! I am really losing my patience with them.

I have found Parcel Motel impossible to contact

Update: you can top up via PayPal. Company is going out of business by 31/01/23.
I have found Parcel Motel really useful up to now but I just can't top up my account anymore (for the last 10 days) whenever I try and I have one parcel waiting for the top-up and another arriving soon.
I tried contacting them by e-mail twice but get no answer except for an automated e-mail and their phone number only gets you to a recorded message. The other phone number given in that message just gets you to UPS who are less than useless.
I have texted Joe Duffy now I am so desperate. I've never done that before. I'm afraid they are going out of business.

Avoid. Company seems to be failing

Website broken, preventing from topping up account with credit. Meaning parcel won't be released. Customer Support no longer exists (literally, they've cancelled or blocked all aspects it). Impossible to contact anyone. Company is possibly failing, meaning might never receive package. Do not use

Abysmal service

I have received numerous notifications informing me of insufficient funds and attempted to pay using numerous cards, constantly met with an error message. It’s been two weeks and I have not received a single response to any of the 5 emails I’ve sent. I have attempted to contact via phone but I am constantly given alternative numbers for various departments, all of whom have informed me they cannot help. Absolutely abysmal service (or lack thereof). Will most certainly be the last time I use this service. Stay away.

Parcel motel

Parcel motel? Never again!
An post notified me of a parcel delivered to them on Friday and still I haven't received it (Wednesday). Looks like the parcel is going from 1 deposit to another one, which I find very unusual considering it's a Dublin delivery. Basically, it's taking longer for this parcel to be delivered within Dublin than it took this parcel to be delivered from the UK to the Parcel Motel deposit in Dublin. And they are also charging me twice as they checked in the same parcel twice!! Not to talk about the conditions of the parcel that look awful in the pictures they send me. I hope I will eventually receive it and that the content won't be damaged. But really don't use them!

Info on how to top up

Back in late November/early December, I received notice of a parcel delivery. I went to the motel collection point nearest my home but the locker was empty. So I mailed Parcel Motel and told them this. There was no response. I mailed them again a day or so later. Still no response. I then took it upon myself to actually call to their depot where I managed to speak to someone in their customer service. The person I spoke with could not have been more helpful. She refunded me the charge for the empty locker and said that two lockers might have opened at the same time when the delivery driver went to the collection point. She reckoned that the parcel had just been placed in the wrong locker. I received my parcel a few days later. Parcel Motel are getting a bad rap at the moment but they’re good people and from meeting with them face to face, I know they’re trying their best. I’m unable to top up at the moment but hopefully it’ll get sorted in a couple of days.
**I topped up using PayPal and routing the payment via my bank current account.

Horrible experience

Horrible experience! 2 parcels out for delivery in a week, one disappeared, one was cancelled...no reason given, no way to contact PM or speak to anyone. contacted UPS via twitter and after 2 days zero progress. Scarily poor experience in customer service terms, would be very wary of using again. In addition, top-up facility on website not working for a week and different balances shown on different pages...

HORRIFIC UNPROFESSIONAL COMPANY

HORRIFIC UNPROFESSIONAL COMPANY - DO NOT USE.

I have had a Parcel Motel account for 2 years. In December they took 2 weeks to transport an item from one part of Dublin to another, which normally only takes 2 days max. Today I was informed that a parcel which was put in the locker a week ago is being held by them and I can't get it without paying them a "release fee". This has never been stated in their policies/terms of service: a label is more than sufficient to ship an item within Ireland. I have no way to contact Parcel Motel about this, so my item is now lost. Absolutely disgusting behaviour from Parcel Motel staff.

Withholding customers parcels

Parcel Motel are receiving and signing for customers parcels in their Finglas Hub but refusing to deliver them to the pm lockers.
They claim insufficient funds on customers accounts but when I went to top up my account or add a new payment method it was error message after error message. They have 4 of my parcels.
Phone number is answer machine. Email is an auto reply from UPS. Twitter account and FB account hasn't been updated in years.
Absolutely disgraceful what they are doing to people who are waiting for important parcels to be delivered.
Please do not use this service.

Do they still exist?

Just an update that the second package that was headed for Parcel Motel and was signed for there has also disappeared. I'm adding this review to add info in case it's useful to anyone else. As other reviewers recommended I contacted CCPC and they told me to write a formal complaint and send by registered post. If this doesn't get any results there is the option of going through the small claims court (this costs €25 so unless your item is worth more than this it might not be worth it.) Anyway, I definitely recommend contacting CCPC as they will also give you a case number and if you can't get your delivery or get refunded by Parcel Motel they can help with enforcing (I'm not sure if this means enforcing decision by small claims court? Anyway...) They also have information on what to include in a complaint on their website. They told me it might also be worth contacting Comreg.

It's a hassle to do all this work just to get a reply from a company whom I paid for a service that they advertise, but the items I've lost are worth what is a lot of money to me and I don't want to let them just keep my stuff.

Where do I start.

Where do I start.
This company are impossible to get when you need to talk .
I was told not sufficient credit in my account for delivery .
Tried everything my bank saying all good on their side .
I even went to depot, no joy only a half interested giggly girl and I presume security guard looking too as uninterested.
Was fobbed off by her telling me there was a computer problem.
Of course no such thing .
Impossible to get or talk to someone to fix problem so didn’t receive items .
Employ more professional staff or you won’t survive.
I prob will never get my stuff now.
The numbers they have on our not working and in one case I got a recorded message which was not comprehensible.
This has been a disaster for me .
Main prob getting in contact with them to sort problem.

I have had an account for years

I've had a PM account for years and I've never once had an issue. Now I have two packages sitting in their depot in bandon with no notification code so I cannot collect. I have sent emails, tried calling, messaged them on FB and nothing! Completely shocked at their not even replying to their customers. Really hoping I can still get my packages but they've been sitting there for three weeks now and l'm worried they will disappear into the black hole!

Avoid - it's basically a scam!

I set up a parcel motel account because a package got stolen from my front door. I thought this would be a better alternative but it's equally as scandalous. My Amazon package was delivered to finglas but I received no information as to when or if it was delivered to my parcelmotel in clarehall. I emailed on the 18th July with no reply. I emailed again on the 1st August and eventually got a reply from a seemingly real person who asked for some details. It then went radio silent and they never contacted me again. I genuinely have no idea what happened to my parcel but I'll never ever use this service again. It was supposed to be stress-free but it wasn't. Please avoid you will only be throwing your money away!!
