I left a package into the local shop…

I left a package into the local shop which is a Parcel Motel drop off & collection point No lockers just stored in the back. No scanning or docket issued!!! It took a full week for the courier to pick up the item! This is not a small village shop but a major Town! When I emailed to get a explanation why the tracking wasn’t working I was questioned if I had the correct tracking number, considering it was PM who generated this number. The reason it wasn’t tracking was it along with lots more parcels were never collected.
I had to inquire at the shop to get this information. No explanation from customer support so I suppose one would have to assume that the collecting drivers are getting very little money and perhaps only can afford to call once a week this service seems to be a cheaper alternative to the normal courier services offered. I did get refunded but i would stay well away from PM. I only happened to have some credit in my account as I used the virtual UK address pre brexit now it looks like this service is a total waste of time.

First parcel arrived within 2-3 days no problem. While tracking the 2nd parcel, it kept saying in transit. Supplier had been told it was delivered even though it hadn't. Contacted parcel motel to be told it was still in depot and would be found and delivered immediately. 10 days later , informed me that delivery driver gave it in to the petrol station because he hadn't got access to put it into parcel motel locker. When I collected it, parcel was opened contents tampered with. Will NEVER use again

Parcelmotel destroyed my parcel

Parcelmotel took a parcel belonging to me and in the process of delivering it they managed to absolutely destroy the contents, be aware of their lame excuses that you need to package your item well ( how are they to know how you packaged it in the first place) as this is their get out of jail card, the communications in this process is terrible.
We are talking about staff here who think driving over your parcel is ok as this is how the recipient best described the parcel upon receipt.
I do hope the person responsible is held accountable, I will never use parcelmotel again and I'd advise anyone thinking of using it for high cost items to reconsider a different option.

top service

i've been a parcelmotel user since first day (4 digit ID) and never had a problem with anything. i was using it usually for deliveries from UK but since they left the EU it's not worth it anymore due to import charges. I get most deliveries via anpost now (which is at sellers choice) so haven't had a chance to use their service since December.

Never, ever again!!! ☹️

Used several times in conjunction with Nuw app wardrobe lending/swapping service - dreadful experience. Snails pace collection/ delivery- collection of some of my parcels took a week (discovered this when I called the very pleasant and helpful support line). Got no notifications for delivery by text or email and one parcel took an extremely circuitous route after getting lost (it did eventually turn up, admittedly). My depot is in a filling station and felt like an absolute nuisance collecting/dropping off each time, as it was clearly bothersome for the busy staff to have to interrupt their regular work to rifle through parcels to find mine. Very disappointing - will not be using ever again.

Been a PM customer from day 1 and it…

Been a PM customer from day 1 and it was excellent but since they no longer provide their main service, it has all gone to pot. 7 days & parcel still not arrived from Kerry to Dublin! Customer care are "waiting" 2 days for update as to why parcel is stuck in hub!!! Pity, won't survive like this

I had a package send from donegal to galway This is day 8 and I still haven't received my parcel

Parcel motel is a great idea in theory pity the
donkeys running the show can't pull it off and make it a good service

Sack the lot of them

Please read the reviews stay well away from parcel motel

Unscrupulous business/Failure to return funds as promised

It's hard to express how bad the customer service is.

I have instructed them countless times to return the money that is on my account, which I cannot use due to changes in their service. They have promised to refund my money but simply don't bother doing it, time after time. Serious disregard for customers, holding onto money without authorization and giving false promises that they have no intention of following through on. It's tantamount to stealing.

Sickening when you come across an organisation like this.

I used to love Parcel Motel but now…

I used to love Parcel Motel but now they no longer offer their main service, delivering from a UK address.
They say on their website that they do free returns to JD Sports when they don't. I found this out the hard way!
Their list of locations is greatly out of date also. I went to a petrol station listed on their website last week to send off a parcel with a prepaid label and they told me that they hadn't Parcel Motel there in 2 years!!
Time for Parcel Motel to be wound down.

Parcel Motel is a complete joke

According to Amazon my parcel arrived at their depo on the 26th last January, nearly 2 months ago. After countless emails between myself and Katrina/Emma/Lauren I got the following response:

"Thank you for your invoice, I have received an update from the claims department regarding this and a claim has been approved for you."

"As per our terms of business, our standard liability covers parcels to the maximum value of €100.00.
We do offer extended liability up to €1500 which can be purchased via your parcel motel account."

I never asked for a refund so I should just assume my package is gone? Not a single word on whatever happened to it.

Worth mentioning that no matter how early in the day you contact them, they won't get back to you before 5.30 which is when they call it the day.

Problems getting your top up refund? Read this...

Frist of all I would like to thank Giggi ZJ who's review helped me solve my problem.

On the 18th of Dec20 I wrote to them and requested a refund of my top-up I hadn't used, as I could see the way Brexit was going the service was probably not going to be running anymore.
Didn't hear anything, contacted them mid Jan. They replied and said they would pass to finance office and get refund done. Since then until a week ago this is the game they were plying with me, hear nothing follow it up told will refund get nothing.

I saw Giggi ZJ review below and followed his advice -
"For everyone who can't get refund of a top up on Parcel Motel/Nightline website that they paid BEFORE the company sent email that they will no longer facilitate the service through their NI address (Dec 26, 2020) - and this way made your top-up worthless. As they changed an essential part of their service, you have the right to CANCEL your contract with them and get the full refund of the top up you made before you received their email.
You have this right under the EU Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83 and if Parcel Motel refuses to refund, or takes more than 14 days to get the money back to you - they are in breach of this Directive, and you can take a very simple legal action (no need for solicitor, yay!)"

So I sent them an email stating this and within a week got my refund!!!!!

Lost in Transit

Lost in Transit. Returned a parcel to Vodafone. Arrived Dublin depot 25/02/21. Confirmation lost in transit 10/03/21 after numerous attempts at parcel delivery confirmation. Account update showing label expired and sent parcel cancelled ( fraudulent information) Registered complaint sent, complaint e-mail sent and small claims court next. Vodafone made aware of missing package and contents. Never using this service again and would recommend others doing the same .

Avoid using Parcel motel or it will cost you dearly

Used twice due to people requesting postage via parcel motel, both times they lost the packages, first one was eventually recovered the second one was lost and the lady who I spoke with said that the depot staff have stopped answering their calls, they offered a refund which worked out great for the guy who it was owed to but my books were lost, I would advise people to not use this service, they are consistently incompetent, I'll never get those first issue books back, the phone staff are nice but the depot people need to be replaced as they couldn't care less about the customers Avoid parcel motel at all costs

Terrible service

Parcel motel took delivery of my parcel and showed a picture of it in their possession. They then lost my parcel in their depot and when I applied for a refund they would only refund up to €100 even after showing the invoice for the package was worth much more than that. Will never use parcel motel again.

LEGAL - How to get refund of Parcel Motel top-up?

For everyone who can't get refund of a top up on Parcel Motel/Nightline website that they paid BEFORE the company sent email that they will no longer facilitate the service through their NI address (Dec 26, 2020) - and this way made your top-up worthless. As they changed an essential part of their service, you have the right to CANCEL your contract with them and get the full refund of the top up you made before you received their email.

You have this right under the EU Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83 and if Parcel Motel refuses to refund, or takes more than 14 days to get the money back to you - they are in breach of this Directive, and you can take a very simple legal action (no need for solicitor, yay!)

How?
Cite this Directive when you email them, give them 14 days to give you your money back and if they do not proceed, take action by filling simple form on Small Claims Court website. There is a 25 euro fee but they will be obliged to refund you that too, once you win. Details on courts dot ie Small Claims Procedure website - can't post links, so just check in Google (click on 'apply here' link at the end of the text and on that next page click on 'apply online' link in the middle of the page)

This company is making major obstructions with refunds, I just got through 22 days of waiting, 14 emails in total but got my money back. This is fraud, and they know it. They can't keep people's money but they deliberately do, make it difficult, make up excuses, and never-ending email threads, but no money in sight for the customer. Unless they see that - YOU know YOUR rights :) Good luck all!

Awful Company and Awful Customer Service

Can wholeheartedly say this is the biggest shittery of customer service, for a simple reimbursement. 

Waiting 3 months.

Looking forward to never having to deal with Parcel Motel again.

i've never known such awful care, and complete negligence.

OMG so frustrated have used this…

OMG so frustrated have used this service for a long time with no issues but had a parcel delivered in November only to be told after 2 phone calls that it hadn’t arrived got the tracking number and phoned and emailed again multiple times only to be told that they’d located it but that it had come in without a pm number obviously a lie since they sent a pic of the package with the pm number handwritten on it phoned again as I got no number in terms of collecting the package was told that it hadn’t been sent because they knew that the item was damaged ?!? How?? Have received damaged packages before from them was assured that they would look into getting the package delivered since it’s apparently in the Dublin depot but I have been sent no notification and was further assured that I would get a call back from a supervisor... that was a week ago still waiting what a joke!!!! I paid for delivery of this item last November and here we are in February still no idea where it is !!
