Fantastic
Excellent standards in the park and caravan. Amazing customer service - any issues we had were resolved straight away. Will definitely be returning and recommend others to do the same.
2 or 3 star. At most
Wasnt sure on a 2 or 3 star. Well we booked back in feb. When i paid my total they took an extra 50 as they said they had no record of my deposit. Aftwr a few calls and enails i got my 50 back just over a week latee. Being told that they apologised would look after us on our holiday i thought oh maybe we will get a free drink at bar or something.
Call 2 days before due to arrive. We were staying monday to friday. Told the restaurant and bar would only be open thurs fri and saturday as its not a busy site.
Wasnt happy with this at all as it isnt mentioned anywhere on their website. Booked a thursday night seeing as it was our only option.
.
On arrival was told they had decided since i wasnt happy (am assuming more people complained) they would open the bar on tues and weds as as well from 6 until 10pm. As if it was a personal favour.
The actual accomodation was fine. The only issue we had was at 5am the carbon monoxide alarm went off and i couldnt stop it. Rang emergency number and someone came. They looked at the alarm and opened the back where the batteries had calcified and turned white.
They said this will be the reason. I asked shouldnt they be checked to which i received a very curt response of 'no thats what the test button is for'. Surely the batteries should also be checked periodically but i get the feeling this isnt so.
We then looked at the menu later for our booked meal on the Thursday. Unless you like burgers and chicken i wouldnt bother. We cancelled our reservation.
If you are just looking for a base... And not planning on relaxing then id say book this. We probably wouldnt again.
Perfect Park for Family Time
We snapped up a bargain (NHS discount) in early 2021 and I had to change the dates quite soon after booking and the staff were really friendly, helpful and efficient. They are also prompt in answering queries too and very welcoming when we arrived. The park itself is beautiful, quiet and peaceful with no harsh artificial lights at night, so if the sky is clear, perfect for star gazing. Fantastic location, everything we had planned to do was within an hours drive and supermarkets nearby. Our caravan was absolutely spotless - credit to the housekeeping staff. We will come again when we come back to Cornwall. 100% recommend if you value quiet family time over trashy entertainment camps with flashing lights, dodgy singers and pink eye inducing pools. On a different note, 2 chunky speed bumps at the exit, but slow, steady and diagonal does the job.
Pentire park near Bude
We stayed at Pentire park near Bude in our tourer. Like other people we were given the impression that we were able to use the facilities in the holiday village but this wasn’t the case. The worst part about the park was the toilet facilities, or lack there of! There was only one side of the toilet block open, meaning the facilities were unisex! There were only 3 showers (+ disabled toilet) for use between 40 or so pitches. We weren’t warned about this when we booked but they still charged us £50 per night!! When I queried this with the reception manager I was told they had other facilities but they weren’t using them. I asked about a refund due to lack of facilities and was told she couldn’t authorise one and it would be no good speaking to the general manager - he wouldn’t give me a refund either! I have stayed in campsites all over Europe and this was by far the most expensive. I wouldn’t recommend staying there unless you want to use the facilities in your van or you don’t mind queuing to use unisex facilities at the princely sum of £50 per night!
Great site
Great site, not to busy. Close to a small village with 2 pubs and a few take aways (beat to book in advance). Beaches 2 miles from the site and Bude 5 miles with plenty of amenities, swimming pool / supermarkets etc. With Bude you can also paddle-board and surf hire companies are available.
The caravan was large, however it could have been cleaner.
False advertisement
When we booked the pentire holiday park we were told we would be able to use the swimming facilities in the next door complex but when we got there we were told they have new management and this is no longer available. We were not warned. The local swimming pool is still closed since the lockdown, even though reception told us to go there. Our power was cut off in the last hour of our stay. We wanted a tea and to charge our phones before a long journey home. The outside bar had a sign saying open 12-8 everyday....it wasn't ever open.
Lovely friendly staff
Lovely friendly staff, very clean site, had and issue with the shower and was fixed straight away, shame no on site restaurant etc but possibly not enough caravans to warrant one, all in all no complaints at all.
Great park, clean van but let down by response times for queries raised
We booked a week's holiday in a freedom plus, pet friendly caravan at Par Sands. The park is well located within easy walk of the beach and the coastal path. The beach is large and gently shelving, dog friendly all year, just quite a bit of seaweed at the one end when the tide is out. Given the time of the year and it being a family oriented site, we were pleasantly surprised at how peaceful it was. Par itself is small but with all you need, the Co-Op is well stocked and the staff very friendly; its within walking distance too, 10-15 mins walk at the most. The van was spotlessly clean on arrival with good Covid arrangements for checkin and out. Our only issue was that on flagging 4 dining chairs which were clearly not part of the van's original furnishings, were very elderly and bulky and without fire safety tags, it took 5 days and a number of chasing phone calls for them to be removed. That said, the maintenance guys were billing act fixing the satellite reception for us!
Lovely small holiday park
Lovely small holiday park. Pentire had a nice play ground and open field to play football which the kids enjoyed. Caravan was nice and clean but ours didn't have a patio set or drying rack. Apperently those with a raised patio area do. You learn as you go on.
Definitely coming back.
Enjoyed a lovely week at Par Sands…
Enjoyed a lovely week at Par Sands Holiday Park. Our accommodation was excellent, the caravan was well equipped, comfortable and spacious.
Fabulous family holiday on a lovely site :)
I went with my family (2 adults, 2 teenagers) to Brynteg holiday park in Llanrug for a 4 night midweek break. We booked a 2 bedroom 'lifestyle' caravan and were very impressed with the level of accommodation; it was spacious, clean and had lots of mod cons (dishwasher, washing machine etc....not that I used the washing machine but handy if you have young children lol!) The park itself is always lovely and clean, with excellent facilities. Due to the pandemic some of the areas weren't open and pre-booking was required for areas such as the swimming pool & gym, however this was easy to do via an app. All orders for food and drink in the country club and boathouse were via app which was again very easy to set up and use.
Staff are always friendly and helpful and the COVID precautionary measures in place were very good.
The park is located conveniently for visits to Caernarfon, Llanberis, Conwy, Porthmadog, Anglesey etc and there are some lovely walks on the door step, along with a fabulous pub down the road if you want to go off site. Lots of things to do in the area and on the park for people of all ages and I would highly recommend; particularly the spa! :)
This was the first time we have been on holiday since the pandemic and we felt very safe and comfortable in our surroundings. We will definitely be back soon!
Brynteg Bitey
Stayed at Brinteg for 5 night for a staycation.
On arrival our lodge was lovely and clean inside but the terrace and hot tub needed a good clean. There was chocolate ice cream on the table from previous holiday makers and cobwebs all over decking. We contacted reception and asked to have it cleaned and the cleaners didnt materialise for the whole 5 days....
We had a hot tub which we were looking forward to using in the evenings however beware, the site is surrounded by trees and as soon as dusk fell midgies came out to play. You couldnt go outside without being bitten to death.
My son spent the first evening in the hot tub and he looks like he has chicken pox!
We are owners at Amble Links and so had low expectations of Park Leisure however i dont think that this holiday was value for money.
Absolutely amazing
Absolutely amazing! Caravan was perfect, had everything that we needed and a very comfy bed!
Location was brilliant, we travelled down the coast line to enjoy the beautiful beaches in glorious weather.
Would definitely return, thank you Park Leisure, you have given us a well deserved break from months of isolation x
What a beautiful place so relaxing and…
What a beautiful place so relaxing and top end caravans.... just in the process of booking again as we really enjoyed it.... definitely recommend.
Birthday break
Birthday break
Had a great time, loved the quiet, from the moment we arrived we were welcomed at reception also staff in the restaurants were really helpful loved the lake and boat house, caravan was very clean and spacious looking forward to September for our anniversary
Family week away with dog
Very nice clean modern caravan. Check in eqsy. Location great for exploring North Wales - most stuff of interest within 1h.
Nice warm clean swimming pool - wished they open it a bit earlier than 10 though as it ate into my day schedule for other things. 1h would be better than 45 mins - like most parks offer.
The restaurants were great albeit we found the Boathouse being under-utilised in the day which is such a shame as it is gorgeously locTed on the lake and views are stunning, kids can play on the shore etc.
Food was quite good, order and delivery easy via the app.
some building works ongoing and one caravan added right in front of reception blocking access in the park. We had yo use the exit instead. A few signs to get about would not go amiss as the park is quite compact with caravans , bit confused if there was a one way system or not - again not unmanageable but would be a nice to be.
Lovely overall , comfortable and catered for all our needs( family, swimming, dog, location, self catering and food options etc)
Lovely Park
Caravan superb, staff very friendly and polite only fault was with the site map. We were given a map of the site on arrival, after checking we were pleased to see that there was a golf course and also Archery. On the day we decided to explore we were very disappointed to find that the archery part was derelict and overgrown and that the golf course was non existent. I understand the difficulties the park has gone through in the past year but on being given the map it would have been nice to have been told that these things were no longer part of the facilities.
We had a lovely stay at Malvern View
We had a lovely stay at Malvern View. The weather was great so we got to explore the whole park and it's beautiful! So well kept, quiet and clean. Took the kids on lots of walks to see the deer and sheep and around the fishing lakes, it's stunning. Nice to sit outside the restaurant with a Starbucks and watch the kids play in the safe and well looked after adventure park, and they loved the sandpit! The staff were very friendly and helpful and the General Manager even came over to say hello and chat. Would definitely recommend and we will be staying again!
Thank you for a great much needed holiday
I deleted my previous review about Park cancelling our holiday. Good enough after having to email the company and CEO they found someone had cancelled their holiday booking for the same week we had booked and offered the booking to us. I would like to say a massive “thank you” because we desperately needed our break and had nowhere else to go. Par Sands is a fabulous little gem of a caravan park and the staff and security guard were all so lovely and helpful. Only one thing could do with changing is the beach cafe! Cold/tepid drinks, very poor service leaving you waiting for that long everyone just leaves. Tried three times and walked out twice, one visit just had a takeaway hot drink which was cold/tepid. Needs improvement. Didn’t even get to the food stage! Maybe next year!
