Worth that bit extra

Probably not the cheapest around, however, have been with Paws & Claws for a number of years now and they have been very good to deal with.

Well worth paying a bit extra for good customer service. Would recommend.

Claims

Always helpful when I’ve spoken to them and I’ve just had to put two separate claims in for my spaniel, Poppy, and they were received and paid within two weeks. Always had excellent service with both my dogs.

Good Afternoon Mr Watt,

Thank you for taking your time to leave us a review, we are sorry you are not happy with your renewal price.

There are many rating factors taken into consideration when it comes to renewal. The individual claim conditions and amount are taken into consideration however the main factors underwriters use in setting premiums are; the pets age, breed and gender. Your address is also a factor. Some postal codes are rated higher than others for two main reasons:
· There may be a higher concentration of claims in some areas.
· Costs of vet fees can also vary across the country.
· The cost of vet fees is taken into consideration as well as the number of claims in that area. Most premiums have also increased over the last few years because technology in veterinary treatment has advanced, so conditions are costing more to treat.

I can see you did discuss different options with a renewals agent to try and keep the price down as much as possible however we are glad you are happy with the cover you have in place for your pet.

Kind regards,

Premiums doubled

On the plus side our claim has been paid pretty quickly but on the downside our premiums have now doubled from £52 monthly to £102 monthly. When I queried this I was told it’s because we made a claim. Unfortunately due to the age of our dog we are unable to go elsewhere so we have to pay whatever they ask or cancel and have no insurance what so ever.

Good Morning,

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review.

I can see that the policy number linked isn't in your name, however we did write to the policy holder 21 days prior to the renewal date to advise the new renewal premium. If they pay by direct debit the policy the policy does automatically renew unless they notify us otherwise however we do always write to them beforehand to confirm the premium.

If they would like to discuss their renewal further please ask them to call us on 0330 102 5742.

I have only gave them 2 stars.

I have only gave them 2 stars.
It should be less, but they have seemed to pull there fingers out.
For me having a cat and two dogs, when I needed them to help me with my dogs rear legs CRUCIATES
I was told I didn't read the small print on crucial ligaments so this cost me a lot of money.£5000 TO BE PRECISE
Now they have increased my renewal by nearly 50% which I think is really bad but I guess there all doing the same.
would I recommend probably not.
To many clauses. As pet owners this is what we pay for.

With regards to the cancellation charge, this is something that is agreed at point of sale and renewal each year as it outlined in our terms and conditions. We do write to you 21 days prior to your renewal and unfortunately if you do not contact us until after the policy has renewed this will be classed as a mid term cancellation and the charge will be applicable.

We are sorry you have not found us to be competitive, we do always appreciate the feedback provided.
