This place would get zero stars. It’s disgusting. This pet store should be shut down. Looks like a puppy mill in there. The poor puppies look drained not in good health they were laying in their feces the place smells like ammonia that’s how bad the urine smell is. This is not fair that the puppies that are in here or the cats. Please do your research on this place and do not go there and report this place.
Shocking
Shocking! Difficult to know where to begin, but basically animal welfare and customer support seem to be bottom of their concern. Instead their focus is on delaying payouts (false claims of our 10 year old cavapoo being aggressive to avoid paying for meds!) and increasing premiums for no justifiable reason.
Would not recommend them to anyone!
RUDE AND UNSYMPATHETIC
I've just rang Paws and Claws with regards to a policy I had for 6+ years for our dog who sadly died at the start of the month. The lady I spoke to was RUDE and incredibly unsympathetic. I made the final claim on the 4th July regarding our dog who died unexpectedly, naturally very upsetting for us so you'd expect customer service to have some level of sympathy however the lady I just spoke to had serious attitude when I enquired about the monthly payment that was still taken on 14th July (11 days after he passed away and the policy has been subsequently cancelled). Quite shocking and totally unacceptable behaviour for anyone but particularly not for grieving customers
Shocking increase in premiums to double from last year

Absolutely shocking…I know costs are going up but this is ridiculous. Will be cancelling policy and put premiums in an account in case of treatments being needed later. Also claim put in last year took months and months to sort even though a simple claim. Avoid this company!
Shockingly bad
Shockingly bad. After 10 years of paying in, I made a small claim and they took 5 months to process only to tell me that the claim was cancelled because the vet had not responded. They had! They sent a full report. So angry with them. Now they have said the vets did respond and it was an ongoing disease!! It most certainly was not and the vets never told me what caused it, so how come they were able to tell the insurance. Probably because I have moved my business elsewhere.
Slow to pay, quick to ask for money!
When you make a claim with this company it takes forever to get your money back, constant phone calls, logging onto their portal which gives no updated information. They blame the vets for not submitting information and you end up being a "go between" between the vets and them, it's a joke! Took over 3 months to pay out for a straight forward claim. We left, cancelled our direct debit and the rapid response by them to claim their outstanding £10.03 from us was amazing! Go to show they are more interested in taking your money than paying out against legitimate claims. Do not use this company!
Impossible to cancel insurance when no longer needed
I emailed to cancel my dogs insurance as she no longer needed it over a week ago, no reply, I phoned yesterday to then speak to someone to cancel her insurance, no empathy at all, just constantly asking for my phone number as Iv recently changed it. Told them I no longer needed to insure my deceased dog so they put me on hold so I had to speak with someone in sales! Again, tried cancelling my insurance only to be told that’s fine, my renewals have gone through and start on 7/11/23!! And they had the audacity to take my money.
Iv cancelled direct debit and will never deal with this company again.
Money taken nothing sent in 10d
Hopeless. Took the money and that’s it nothing delivered. Buy elsewhere.

I would urge anybody looking for pet…
I would urge anybody looking for pet insurance to avoid Paws and Claws like the plague. When I made a claim they were obstructive and slow to respond. I had to repeatedly explain the circumstances of a very simple situation and they did everything they could to avoid paying.

After paying on time every months for my cats whole life, my cat sadly died and when i came to cancel the policy - they said lucky for me that I could cancel with no admin fee as they had contacted my vet to confirm my cat had died.
However i raised that i wanted to make a claim as he went in for general anaesthetic and never came home - they said that the policy only waives the get out of contract fee if there is no claim. So basically all those years of paying insurance - when i need it to cover the costs the get out of contract fee is nearly as much as the vet bill! so they have made it pointless in me claiming - which is disgusting. They Take take take your money and event on death manage to worm their way out of paying anything! This is not insurance- its a big con!!!!! DO NOT USE !!!
Money-snatching charlatans!
Been a loyal customer of this insurance company for many years and as a result have paid a huge amount in premiums. Made a first claim this year for a one-off medical event (not an on-going condition) of a very modest amount. Paws and Claws paid out quickly and we were pleased with the service until...we received our renewal quote for this year which came in at the most ridiculous price. I could understand a reasonable increase but this was beyond a joke, the increase alone being far more than was paid out in the claim, making the whole process of even making a claim a mockery if the company just intend to immediately snatch it back in premiums. Went to other companies for quotes (taking into account the medical event when asking for cover) and was quoted far more sensible premiums so contacted Paws and Claws to see if they could better their quote so I would consider remaining a customer. They weren't even prepared to try despite the fact it would mean losing custom. I would have been happy to pay a good amount for the premiums but not the laughable amount they thought necessary. It seems that they have shown their true colours. I suggest AVOID AVOID AVOID. Pitiful company!
Avoid at all cost!
Please, please don’t use this company. They will do anything to worm their way out of paying out. We have been with them for over 10 years, for the last few, paying £75 a month and with only 2 claims ever. They still quibbled over a £300 claim for skin infection and reduced it down to a £120. I decided to cancel policy, so they cancelled it and charged me £150 for the remaining 2 months because I’d made a claim in the year. I suggested if I was going to pay those two months that I would like the policy to run its course but they advised they’d cancelled it; wouldn’t reinstate it & I had 10 days to pay up. Absolutely shocking. Complete rip off merchants, unfriendly, and extremely unhelpful. Please go elsewhere to a better company.

Please do not use this insurance company, they are the most devious company I have ever had the displeasure of using. Keep records of all correspondence as they repeatedly ignore emails and refuse to acknowledge phone calls then inform you that you have missed the deadline to appeal your insurance claim. This is in additional of recommending a £70 per month insurance policy that doesn't cover you for anything you will ever need.

Please don’t use this insurance company. The service is appalling. They take months to pay out and constantly request further information which you send and then they say they’ve never received. So you send again and the whole process is painful. I wouldn’t want anyone to have to go through what I am going through. I’m still awaiting them to settle claims for 2 cruciate ligament operations, one which goes back to beg. Sept 2020. Please avoid at all costs.

Absolutely outraged this morning. I had an English Springer Spaniel that I retired from the military at the age of 8, 7 years ago. I spent quite a lot of time looking for an insurance company as I only wanted public liability and death insurance. No problem they said. So I've been happily paying them for the past 7 years, up until the 18/01/22 when Holly unfortunately passed. Rang the helpline this morning 20/01/22 to make a claim and cancel my policy only to find out they don't cover death of pets when they reach 8 yrs or older. Absolutely disgusting service. I whole heartedly advise owners to look elsewhere.

This place is suck🤮. They should be banned. I never could find out what really happened to my Mylow. He was in good spirit when I left her in that resort 3 days back. When I went to retrieve him today he was all in traumatized. They deserve to treat innocent souls like that. I wish I should've known about that place from before. Whoever reading this never ever leave your pet there in that resort.
Way too slow & incompetent

They are painfully slow & keep saying they haven’t received the claim from our vet, but when I speak to the vet, they have sent it & send me a copy to prove it. My last claim has still not been acknowledged from 19 days ago!!! Having paid on credit card I will incur further costs due to them being so slow & given my £50+ monthly premium, it’s not very good. I would never recommend them to anyone else as if you find your pet needs regular medication you’re stuck. Despite several complaints, nothing ever improves :-(
Useless cover on five paws
Useless cover on five paws. Awful dealing with death of a pet. £15 claim for 6 year old cat that dies via accident. Less than the monthly premium.
