Appalling customer service. Phone calls and emails and my dogs' insurance policies are still not connected to my portal, so can't view anything or action anything on my account.

QUICK, EFFICIENT RESPONSES, KEPT UPDATED THROUGHOUT, COULDNT HAVE ASKED FOR A BETTER SERVICE.

Terrible experience. My wife and I insured our 2 cats with this company for 4 years. No problems until we needed to claim for the first time.
Our cat Illy hurt her leg and we of course took her to the vets. At every stage my wife called to check in with the Paws and Claws customers service team and was assured that she was covered up to £2.5k
We went ahead and booked the operation for her cruciate ligament.
I should say that my wife is a nurse and I’m self employed (Or was... thanks to Covid) and we like many others been hit hard.
My wife specifically asked if her orthopaedic Injury was covered before we booked.
After dropping lily off this morning the vets did a final courtesy check only to be told that paws and claws would only cover 1k of the treatment.....
Upon challenging this directly and asking them to check their phone records they said that although we had been ‘slightly’ misled it was up to us to know that cruciate issues were only on a limited coverage. They offered £20
Compensation. Wow...
Cause that’s going to help the £1500 bill we now have to find...
You pay the fee every month Believing that when & if you need It they will cover it. And they don’t.
We would have been better off saving that money every month and using it to pay for this...
Do not use this company.
They think it’s okay to mislead you on the phone. There excuse - it’s your (the customers) fault. You should have read all the small print so we (the insurer) don’t have too...

One of their big adopted dogs came after my little dog for no reason. There was no aggressiveness prior to the incident but the dog got loose and came after killing my little dog. Why was the dog adoptable. Some how they need to be better examined before being adopted. The dog has to be a safe dog to have!

This is a place where you should never go specially avoid dr subir Bhattacharya an specialist in anatomy you can aspect how good he could be in medicine But surely he will flood your pet with supplements,salines and will Flece you to the core at the cost of your pets health . Will give your dog unnecessary medicines and if by any chance you have some acknowledge and will question him he will just ask you to leave instead of giving answer. This is not a place for pet care but there own care at the cost of your pet. I have lost mine you don’t loose yours but surely do not visit this place .

Had insurance with u for years my cat needed a procedure and u have doubled the insurance

Very good comprehensive pet insurance which is competitively priced. We have two cats and two dogs insured with them and have used Paws & Claws for the past four years. Have had to claim only once so far and the process was easy and the payment was received very quickly.

Poor claims management and communications coupled with doubled premiums for two years without anything like the level of claims (by a mile). Very disappointing.

Policy has doubled in price in 1 year and we have only made 1 claim in the last 12 years!!! Disgraceful!!! I cancelled the policy as we couldn’t afford the doubled premium and they have still taken out the money from my account!!!

Got our renewal - gone up by 20% for a claim free year with no comment, explanation etc ? Why ?

Quick to settle claims and keep us informed

The turnaround time for my claims has been painfully slow (even before the current climate). I have disputed the results of a specific claim. Having been advised someone will contact my with in the week I have not been contacted in over 2 months despite following up on this.

I know things are difficult at the moment with staff working from home etc during the Coronavirus crisis, but after a week I’m still waiting for the call back I was promised. Not I have received a response to my online query. Not good enough.

Rubbish don’t use this company - put prices up by 33% and can’t even get £30 excess fee back

26/05/20 - still cannot get £30 excess fee back and no correspondence for well over a month about why they haven’t paid what is owed !
