Absolutely ridiculous I was paying 45 pound per month dog insurance only to get a new monthly amount of wait for it 68 pound a month can you believe it when I questioned it the advisor said it was probably because my dogs age or the fact I have claimed well I quickly cancelled the policy but I feel duped by this company I think they just want you to pay and not claim indefinitely poor poor customer service very disappointed after paying for years to be treated like this awful…..
Disgusting insurance company, do not trust them!
We had to make a small claim on one of our dogs insurance, only around £480. They have just tried quoting us nearly double the monthly payment for the following year, almost completely recouping their losses in just 1 year. Quotes elsewhere showing £5 a month CHEAPER than Paws and Claws quote from the previous year. Total thieves. They'll be losing our business for all 3 of our dogs now.
When we had to make a claim they took a…
When we had to make a claim they took a life time to pay out. I received a new quote as the insurance ends this month and surprise surprise they had doubled the policy cost.
Surprise surprise I will not be taking them up on it.
Thank you

Painfully slow.
Painfully slow to pay out for valid claims. I claimed in May and put bill on my credit card. Two weeks went by before they put on the portal even though vet emailed same day. Then 10 working days to assess, then saying settled and to wait 10 working days for payment. Now in July and still no money has been reimbursed whilst I’m incurring credit card interest. That is claim one and claim two (for same claim) the following week has only just gone on the portal. I can’t afford to be waiting 1.5months+ to be reimbursed that’s why I took out insurance! When I was insured with another provider with a different animal money was in my account within 10 days. Not sure why paws and claws are so slow. It’s a stressful enough time having a sick pet without this added stress.

Absolute disgrace of a company
Absolute disgrace of a company. Miss sold a policy that after paying for 3 years now won't cover us. States we have vet bills ect all covered. Now left with a 3k bill to pay as they don't want to know. Shambles. The lady was rude that we dealt with ! Stay away from this company. Insurance your pets else where.

I used paws and claws in South Africa to move my pets to the UK. I found them very caring and kept me updated throughout the process and there costs were very reasonable.

If i could give a minus I would!
If i could give a minus I would!!
We have been with this so called insurance company since 2014, only ever had to use 1 time last year when our pet dog had tests on his lymph gland.
I called your customer services number to let you know we would be claiming for our 10 year old Jug as he is newly diagnosed with Diabetes, only to be told that our insurance does not cover anything else except accidents?!...
Our insurance document we have in front of us states we are covered but was told, no its for accidents only.
Last year we had to have tests on our pet on his lymph glands and this was paid, so what is the difference?
The vet has had to do blood tests and will need to continue to do them now, which should come under vet fees but you say I'm not allowed to claim these???
so please explain why we even have insurance??
What makes this worse is the fact that we have not been able to access our login to cancel the policy!!
Yes you have sent us a link to reset the password but when we try to reset it just keeps saying its an invalid token!!???
So we have now been left with bills for blood tests etc from our vets which we have to pay when it should be covered.
We will be seeking legal advice.
You have left us not only feeling hopeless but furious that this kind of thing happens!! when we are trying to come to terms with the fact that our boy may not even get through this as he is very very poorly!!!
Shame on you!!!

The long haul
I've never had any dealings with pet Insurance previously but my first experience has been disappointing to say the least.
My dog had minor surgery to remove a small lump from her side. 3 month's later I still haven't received the £300 payment.
After numerous calls I thought we were making some progress. Yesterday however I was contacted for additional information which is annoying after this length of time.
I will be changing supplier as soon as possible and I certainly will be carrying out a little more research before I make a final decision.
I will add an additional post to confirm the outcome whenever this may be!

Total rip off…
After paying Paws n Claws for years n made no claims I decided to increase my cover from accident to accident n illness for my 10 year old chihuahua.
I previously paid £94 a year and the increase they wanted was £630 a year. I am gobsmacked. I also insured another dog with them n have made no claims but they can stuff it.
I've now insured elsewhere for £120 for accident n illness.
I wish I'd read these reviews before I paid my premium for years

Steer clear!!
After 10 years insurance with the company my cat started limping. After 2 days I took her to the vet. The vet reported puncture wounds to the paw via a thorn or cat bite.
Paws and claws said this is clearly an illness and not and accident so don’t see any reason to cover this as illness is not in my policy.
Even after a letter from the vet with the vet explaining this. They still deem this as an illness.
Stay away from this company as they will take your money and run
almost impossible to contact
almost impossible to contact. claims are unfriendly and vets struggle to deal with them. My cancellation call took over an hour and cost a stack of minutes just sitting on hold.
The last straw! (updated)
The last straw!
Every claim I have made with these people needs at least 4/5 phone-call follow up
The 1st claim is always lost
My premium has doubled this year which I swallowed as we had made a claim last year
How ever once again miscommunication or as prefer to call them lies come thick and fast
Even when caught on there own telephone recordings they don’t seem to even care
I would have been sacked in my job but they will just be given feedback
So feed up and still £800 out of pocket until they find my claim and then process it
UPDATE thanks to Justine the claim will be paid today 12/11/20

100% Hike in Renewal Quote
Just received the renewal quote from Paws & Claws... a staggering 100% more than last year! I wonder if this has anything to do with making a claim in the previous year??!!!!! Shocking!

Paws and Claws autorenewal a joke
What a liberty Paws and Claws take in setting up an auto renewal and what a complete waste of both our time and energy to insist on us going through hoops to cancel. Terrible service.

you asked me this question 6 month ago, I asked who you were, as I don't recall any recollection of being with you, and never got a replie, hence 1 star, I thought I was with Purley pets,,, so I'm still no wiser 🤷♂️

Dennis is professional and friendly and he went above and beyond to assist us in safely relocating our pug puppy from Melbourne to Canberra. He went well out of his way for the early morning pick up and ensured the safe delivery of our pup despite all the challenges presented by the COVID restrictions. He was great at communicating and I highly recommend his services for any pet owner.
Thanks Dennis!
Cheers,
Leonie
