I have nothing but problems with PayPal. Every single time I try to deal with PayPal its a freaking headache. Takes forever to finally get through to an agent, then when you finally do they sound exactly like the bot you had to deal with to begin. And when you get fed up with texting and call you sit on hold until whenever the hell they feel like getting back to you. I made an online purchase for an item from Zara Germany and paid via PayPal. The order never got delivered to me. For some reason, Hermes sent it back to Zara’s warehouse. I am reporting PayPal and the merchant CrocBeauty.com for deceptive business practices and failure to provide promised consumer protection.
On PayPal's official website, they state: 'We’ve got you covered. We can reimburse you if something’s not right. Shop with peace of mind, we protect your eligible purchases. If your order doesn’t arrive or isn’t as the seller described, we can help you get your money back.'
This is a blatant lie! My order is exactly what you described: 'not as the seller described' (manufacturing defect). Yet, instead of 'getting my money back,' I am being met with economic extortion. I purchased a product for $165 that arrived with a confirmed manufacturing defect. Despite providing irrefutable photo evidence, PayPal is demanding that I return the item to the USA from Tbilisi, Georgia, at my own expense.
I officially offered to return the defective product on the condition that the merchant, CrocBeauty.com, covers the return shipping costs — a standard legal principle for faulty goods. Both PayPal and the merchant completely ignored this constructive proposal. Instead, PayPal issued a non-negotiable demand for me to pay international shipping that exceeds the value of the item itself.
The handling of this case has been entirely robotic. Agents use 'copy-paste' templates and ignore evidence. There has been no professional review, only systemic avoidance of responsibility even by human agents. By utilizing 'no-reply' communications and the deliberate removal of the 'Reply' button, PayPal is effectively silencing the consumer. This creates an environment of extreme psychological stress, forcing consumers to abandon their rights.
I demand a full refund of $165 immediately. You have failed to honor your 'peace of mind' guarantee. I am escalating this breach of contract to the CFPB, FTC, and BBB. If this is not resolved, I will seek further legal action for the emotional distress and professional negligence caused over the past month.

I raised a legitimate dispute with PayPal after not receiving goods from an overseas vendor. My main issue is not the original problem itself, but PayPal's complete refusal to engage meaningfully. Despite the vendor emailing to acknowledge a full refund was due, PayPal closed my case and directed me to chase the overseas vendor myself. Throughout this process PayPal continued to collect Pay in 3 instalments for goods I had never received. Every contact resulted in the same dismissive response with no attempt to investigate or resolve the matter. I have now referred this to the Financial Ombudsman Service. I would urge caution when using PayPal Pay in 3 for overseas purchases, as their buyer protection in practice falls well short of what they advertise.

I bought what was advertised as a working engine that you build yourself. I was looking forward to building this with my son. But what arrived was a piece of plastic badly painted.
I thought something was wrong when I didn't receive confirmation of purchase or delivery details. The company Bombay Clothing has said in their advert that the engine was from America, but they turned out to be from Asia and the piece of plastic was not a working engine.
I opened a case with PayPal on those grounds and waited for about 3 weeks.
Today I got a resolution to the case and they ruled in favour of the scammer.
Therefore I am asking my credit card company to get the money back.
I am of course closing the PayPal account.

I am very disappointed in Paypal. I contacted them when a company was stating they were about to charge me for a renewal on a dievice that never worked and I had requested to end my contract, they responded they would. Paypal advised me to freeze my card and that they would not be able to. I had tried to reach out to Ryoko but got no response. Meanwhile Paypals advise freezing my card only allowed Ryoko to charge my bank. When I disputed the charge and sent the emails that showed I cancelled Paypal sided with Ryoko. So I am out the money and was advised by someone else that I could take it to small claims but in doing so paypal could restrict my account. so I lose no matter what. I am very disappointed with PayPal. I know a review will not get my money back but hopefully it warns buyers that they might not be as protected as they think by Paypal. Even with email proof that I requested the account with Ryoko be canclled they allowed them to take the money. Ryoko even agreed during this that they should refund but needed to let PayPal do the review. once Paypal said they sided with them of course they no longer agreed they should return the money.
Update: Ryoko has since refunded the money. Im still very disappointed in the way paypal handled the review.

Absolutely useless now! LNER have confirmed they have sent my refund but I haven’t received it so they advised me to contact PayPal. The agent I got was useless and kept saying he couldn’t find the transaction and that he needed the transaction number, he couldn’t understand that the whole point of me contacting them was because I hadn’t received the refund therefore there was no transaction!
