They don't protect custumors

They say you can get your money back when the store doesn't deliver. I reqeusted a claim and they didn't aprove it, because it's not a payment problem.

I had all the proof that it is and they don't give a explanation

Thanks paypal. This isseu is ongoing for months and cost me alot of time.

Never paypal for me anymore. I can't trust them

I’m very disappointed in PayPal’s…

I’m very disappointed in PayPal’s matter of protecting customers. My account was charged by the fraudulent shaw academy and because I ticked the wrong box the dispute was closed without even looking into it. I’m going for a credit card after 12 years of being their customer. No way of correcting nor a way of contacting. The company became very shady.

bad, bad, bad

very, very very bad customer service. without warning they shut down services. impossible to get to speak someone. after searching for half an hour they provide a telephone number that doesn't work anymore. sending mails, and chats and they just don't respond. BAD, BAD, BAD what is worse than bad? Than I would pick that word.

Are you considering opening a PayPal account?
You better think twice...

A few months ago, I received a message from PayPal that I needed to top up my balance. Strange because I never leave money on this account and I hadn't ordered anything. Curious what this was about so I went straight to the login page.

Digital River Ireland had debited EUR 44.99 without my consent. PayPal had been so '' kind '' to advance this amount, so suddenly I had a negative balance of EUR 44.99. In other words PayPal had decided without any consideration that money was lent to me for a product I didn't order.

There was still no need to panic and I was under the impression that banks and financial institutions will immediately fight fraud in these cases, but here's where it went wrong.

Instead of going after the Digital River Ireland scammers, PayPal decided that the charge was not illegal. We are now 26 e-mails further in which PayPal kindly requests to top up my bank balance and I am sending them back that I am not going to pay a cent.

Dear PayPal,
Just because your president is a gangster doesn't mean you also can live like crooks. It is insane that you put my bank balance negative without my permission, that you did this for a product that I did not order and also demand that I have to top up my bank balance. Are you kidding me?
Instead of sending all those mails, I suggest that you put some afford in finding out more about the company Digital River Ireland. Google is your friend.

For the 27th time, I WILL NOT PAY YOU A CENT. Stop stalking me and delete my account.

I have to return item which is valued…

I have to return item which is valued at $5. Shipping item back to China is like €30 or more. F..CK that. I'm loosing money on this!. I'm not used to this kind of service of PAYPAL. I've been using them since 2001 and now they give me this crappy service!

Great for online shopping

Great for online shopping, very good customer protection, I've used it a couple of times and always got a refund when the seller was unwilling to cooperate and I could prove it (I would NEVER use aliexpress and the likes of it without PayPal). -1 star because as other reviewers have pointed out, it is tricky to use it in the Netherlands. Not too iDeal friendly, I must use my foreign credit card with them for best results.

Crooks

Very bad company. Blocked unexpected my account, without any warning before, and wanted me to send verification, which I did 3 times. I can see they received it in my PayPal account, but they keep asking for it (though I did it already three times). They blocked the account for payments, so my money is simply gone. Who to prosecute? PayPal is not an official bank and who is willing to go to a court (Where?:England/USA), spend money for a court case and so loses more money. Good business model for the owner of PayPal, but strange no government is taking action......

i'm so disappointed and I will never use Paypal again.

i'm so disappointed. I tried to use Paypal to buy something and it just gave me problems. The website is Bad, confusing and old. I transfer money to my Paypal account and tried to return the money back to my bank account and it was difficult to do that. The worse part is that I did not get my money back and I have no idea when I will receive it. The website is not cd is difficult to to find help. This is the last time I will use Paypal.

I am done with PayPal...screw you guys

I am done with PayPal...screw you guys. Been using the same account for 5 years with almost no problems. Then suddenly last week they limited my account and asking me to send ID and other documentation to proof that I am the person behind the account. Which ive already sent when I opened my account 5 plus years ago. So because I had to transfer money to a friend of mine abroad I couldnt do this. So I opened a second account. Was fine for 2 weeks then suddenly they limited my account access again. Asking again for info.

Took my money for no reason | Geld afgepakt voor geen reden

Ik heb ooit iets besteld en PayPal gebruikt als betaalmethode. Ik heb de bestelling geannuleerd en ik heb een terugbetaling ontvangen. Zelfs toen ik de terugbetaling kreeg, bleef mijn PayPal-saldo negatief. Later kreeg ik brieven thuis waarin stond dat ik het moest betalen, anders zou de incassobureau het afschrijven. Ik heb meerdere keren geprobeerd contact op te nemen met PayPal, maar ze konden me niet helpen. Zodra het incassobureau mijn geld had afgeschreven, nam ik contact met hun op. Ik vertelde ze wat er aan de hand was en ze vertelden me dat ze me niet verder konden helpen omdat ze ingeschakeld waren om het geld terug te nemen. Ik vertelde hun dat ik opnieuw contact met PayPal zou opnemen en zij antwoordden met dat het niet zou werken omdat PayPal het incassobureau weer zou inschakelen. Ik heb mijn account onmiddellijk verwijderd! Ik heb mijn geld nooit teruggekregen en ik zal het website/app nooit meer gebruiken.

I once ordered something and used PayPal as the paying method. I cancelled the order and I got a refund. Even when I got the refund my PayPal balance stayed negative. Later I got letters at home saying that I have to pay it or else debt collection agency would take my money. I tried contacting PayPal multiple times but they couldn't help me. As soon as the debt collection agency took my money, I contacted them. I told them what was wrong and they told me that they couldn't help me because they're hired just to get the money back. I told them that I was going to contact PayPal again and they replied with that it won't work because PayPal would let the debt collection agency take care of it. I immediately deleted my account! Never got my money back and I will never use it again.

very hard to use and unfriendly

very hard to use and unfriendly. Easy to transfer money in, nearly impossible to transfer money out. Day 2 of unneeded complications. Originally used so I could purchase without needing a credit card but now every time I try to use paypal it forces me to connect a credit card... sort of beats the purpose of the paypal method. Infuriating.

It should be 0 stars. Doesn't work

Doesnt work. With just your creditcard you can’t pay invoices as they claim. You have to prove where you live with bills or bank slips.
They also deduct 1,50 from your creditcard without telling they do that.
Deleting your creditcard info is not possible.
Cancelling your account is also not possible.
They just dont respond to mails about wanting your money back. I guess this is what they live from.

One word: TERRIBLE

Where to start? I can't think of anything positive. Especially if you use Paypal to receive money, then may the Paypal Gods be on your side, because they can freeze your account for an undetermined period.

Bad Experience

They would not let me cancel my account! The New York times charged the account after the subscription was cancelled and after I had turned off automatic payments for the NYtimes. So I lost trust and decided to cancel paypal. But: they will not let you cancel or decouple a card if the account is not at 0. Bad experience.

Awful Costumer Support

In April I created a "Business PayPal Account", I linked my functional bank account to it. The next day I login to my PayPal account to see that is was blocked. I sent costumer support twice the same day my bank statement, as requested, but was rejected both times.
I advise to not use PayPal at any cost as they are a scam. Till today I have not gotten the chance to even once use the account even though I met all the requirements.

PayPal is an internationally organized and legalised criminal business which rubs you officially and easily like a charm! Mafia fails to compete this exploit giant. If you want your money to be rubbed officially and politely, you can use PayPal.
They've caged $266 of mine with "no reason". Simply there is NO reason and since 2014 they say you can withdraw it after 180 days. I'm still waiting for this 180 days to happen. I can't add a new bank account (they don't let this happen) and my old one no longer works. 180 days never end.
Emails: a joke! Whatever I send, after a few seconds I get an automatic generated piece of f***k instead of human support.
If you are reading this before using this dirty official rubbery service, STOP thinking about it and switch to something like TransferWise. If you are lucky and they don't eat your whole money, they steal from EACH and EVERY transaction you make. If you don't believe in this, test it!

Really bad service

Really bad service. I transferred money from my bank account (which is the account attached to my paypal account) and then a couple pf weeks later, I tried to transfer some of that money back into the same bank account, and they blocked my account and ask for all these documents, that in 2018, is almost impossible to get, since everything is done digitally. I provided them with the documents and they said that it is not good enough, so now they are holding my money hostage. Ridiculous!
