Ordered 2 very expensive items from them, got an email the next day to say they have no stock so they will be giving store credit instead.....Um no. Already informed credit card company - money on hold, im not waiting 2 weeks for a refund in the thousands.
I see from reading the rest of the comments here I am not alone, very poor customer service here.
Absolutely appalling experience.
They have my £5k, not dispatching goods I've ordered and not picking up the phones. Been trying over 10 hours on webchat, not working.
Looks like one of the biggest UK online tech retailers decided to turn into scam company.
Bought computer component online as it was in stock, emailed me couple of days after saying they have no stock of the component I ordered. Asked politely to return back the money they took from my credit card but the service is very slow from Jan 30 up to this time money still not refunded! Contacted several times they are terrible updating customer. They keep saying will refund within 7 days ongoing process. How many days had passed already I still owe my credit card as nothing given back to me by this company. I have no computer components paying interest day by day to credit card lender and Honestly I do not know where they get the courage to sell out of stock and collect money from customer. You should be more vigilant with your product availability as you let me down and for sure reading the comments I am not the only one suffering like this brought by this company. Will I recommend this company? I guess you know the answer already. Stay well, stay safe.
I've been waiting since last March for a refund for an oven I purchased and returned the same day. No response via any of the phone lines, email, webchat, social media. Went to the store to be told they couldn't refund me. No explanation given, the lad said the same thing to the queue of people in similar situations. I was told I had to seek legal advice to recover any money, again no reason given. I have prrof of purchase and proof of return and they will do nothing. I have to now start leeking proceedings to get my money back.
I ordered a printer from Curry’s pc world business. It stated it was in stock when I purchased it but I soon had an email stating it wasn’t. So I requested a refund straight away via the email they sent in the email link. This was 7 days ago and I’ve not had a confirmation. So I tried calling and couldn’t actually speak to a person. The automated system literally just hangs up on you and tells you to go in the we chat no matter which option you chose when on the telephone. So I finally get through to someone if web chat, let’s face it, she didn’t give a toss. I was told that she was now raising the refund request, despite my email 7 days ago. She told me it will take up to 48 hours for the team to look at the refund request before a further 3-5 working days for the refund to go back into my account. So it doesn’t matter that I already raised the refund request, appear they had no knowledge of it. Funny that. Happy to take your money but not give it back. Absolutely shocking service. I will not be purchasing anything else from the business nor the normal curry’s. I’ve had the same issues with the normal curry’s. Shop elsewhere
One of the items did not arrive but I am charged in full. I cannot reach them by phone or chat. There is no valid email account to email or ask about it.
I am going to dispute through my bank.
Yet again Currys PC World business have advertised a product available on their website, then after purchasing it, I get an e-mail a few hours later saying that they haven't got it in stock after all and call an under-staffed line to try and get my money back.
This is not acceptable, but now I've been bitten twice by this I will not be purchasing from them again. Avoid.
Very poor service and costumer service I will never buy again from them they didn't refund my money and they put me on hold all the time very bad and rude
Don't get embroiled in trying to contact this company and waste more money on the phone, raise a dispute with your bank. I placed an order for an item on the 20th Dec. Money taken the following working day. My order was cancelled by PCWB the following day without notifying me. It was only when it didn't arrive I checked the delivery status I discovered it had been cancelled. Customer service line is more or less disabled or unmanned so I rang the sales line and got through to someone straight away (unsuprisingly). I recorded my conversation (useful for evidence if needed) and discovered they had cancelled it simply because they couldn't keep up with demand in the warehouse. Only way to get a refund is to talk to Customer Services who are MIA. I raised a dispute with my bank who have refunded me in the meantime while they investigate.
AVOID! taken money 13 days ago... no product and CANNOT get through to anyone. Tried online chat 5 times today, each time around 35 mins on hold then cut off. Called customer service line to see if I can get through on the order line (yes you can) but the customer service agent put the phone down on me!!!.... they have my money, I have no goods... what to do???
Purchased something that was showed as in stock so I went ahead with the purchase. Hours later I get an email saying there was something wrong with my order and that it is out of stock. Phoned them up and they said they would process the refund, this was on Thursday morning. It is now the following Wednesday and i still haven’t received my refund. I’ve been trying to call their customer service but they are impossible to get through to. You get an automatic response to call back later or try the online team. Same thing with the online team no agent comes through to the live chat.
I get the impression that they purposely taking peoples money for deliberately showing items as in stock when they know for a fact it isn’t, then they hold your money for as long as possible to earn interest on it.
Government needs to investigate how this company operates. I will now call my bank to get my money back through them or take them to the small courts!
Same here. Ordered a wifi printer that was shown to be on stock on the website, the money is taken from my credit card, order is confirmed, but 2 days later I get an email saying there are "dispatch difficulties" as the item is out of stock. They also say I would "get a credit on my account" for future purchases. Yeah, right. They are abusing customers to be their bank and give them an interest free credit. I will ask my credit card company to undo the payment. Alternative is the small court claims. Either way, they committed a felony. If you take money from someone by lying to them and not giving anything in return, it is theft. No chance in court they would survive. They should just close down if they have cash flow problems.
Please do not buy anything from this company. I complained about not getting my £159 for my printer for weeks and I even phoned them and they didn’t answer the phone. So that is why I asked my bank to investigate and get my money that they owed me. And within a few days my bank managed to get my refund from the company. So anyone else out there who is having the same problem I suggest you get in contact with your bank and you will definitely get your refund.
I don't often bother with feedback, apart from when I feel customer service is so poor, others should be warned not to deal with businesses. Currys PC world are a well known brand obviously surviving on their past image and brand recognition. However it has been like dealing with a faceless overseas business with no way to contact them - they take your money, then don't deliver within stated timeframes and then there isn't any realistic way to contact them - they won't answer the phone and the webchat is also unresponsive - you could try email but that has a 2 week turnaround so any interaction is going to take months - best contact the credit card company and force a refund and don't bother with CPCW ever again
I've had two orders today for a large sum of money cancelled with Currys PC World Business.
"We're sorry to inform you that there has been an issue with the despatch of your order" x 2
This is no way to run a business, you are taking money for items that you don't have in stock. I'm now without any quick cashflow to remedy the situation, so not only do I not get the items I ordered. I also can no longer afford to buy them elsewhere until I get the money back. (Which as I am reading here won't be anytime soon).
Also the webchat is a total farce. I have to wait 30+ minutes to talk to someone, who is clearly dealing with multiple people at once. Yet if I don't respond within 3 minutes they disconnect the chat straight away.
I'd always thought that Currys is a name you can trust to deliver a certain level of customer service and good business practice. But as of today I certainly no longer feel that way.
But by far the biggest issue I have is your stock system. Don't sell what you don't have, simply let people put items in their basket and remove the items from sale until the purchase goes through. That you think this system is acceptable is an absolute joke.
Ordered a printer, they took my money immediately. Emailed me to say printer wasn't in stock so I requested a refund. No response since that request.
No doubt the excuse will be Covid related but in my opinion this is fraud. They take your money by saying something is in stock and then ignore you when they can't fulfill your order.
You have 48 hours to refund my money before I head to the small claims court where I will make a claim to include the cover of my associated costs.
What an absolutely despicable way to treat customers who have paid for items upfront.
Ordered a printer - printer never arrived. Chased them and they told me they had none in stock, so I was issued a refund.
Refund never arrived. Tried to chase but phone lines disconnected more often than not.
Took an email threatening court action to eventually get my refund.
Wish I had read these reviews beforehand. Stay away
Appalling! I have not seen such bad customer service. First, the person on the chat basically tells me to “do whatsever i want” when i told him the options he gave me were not working and if we can try smth else. Then, as i was getting nowhere i managed through to a human rather than a robot (only the 5th time calling) and after confirming the address for the collection of the faulty item, she puts the wrong address in so the collection doesn't happen (for obvious reasons). Called again and spoke to the slowest person in the world who asked me my address 3 times and towards the end of our call when she repeated it she said the wrong house number. Why? Why? Why? Would rather pay a bit more and buy straight from the company than having to deal with this next time i want something Curry’s sell!
You have to feel for the staff that are still working!!
Just been on the chat line having rang the so called dedicated business line 31 times and each time all I get is a message saying “we are very busy call back” and then it automatically cuts you off.
Delivery of my works printer over a week late and it’s taken me a week to actually make contact, go on chat tick the option discuss my order and then it asks does your order start with a choice I of 3 letters just say no and it then transfer you, it did take 42 mins to transfer me but I did get a real person, she was extremely stressed and looked like she was managing several chats at the same time but I did get an answer in the end.
Question is was it a true answer or just to get me off the phone??????
The senior management at Curry’s Business need to get their act together as this delay has cost me time and lost sales I’d have to think hard before I use them again if this is there new performance level and looking at the reviews as 87% are scored as “BAD” !!
Ordered cancelled after a week. No refund since weeks. No way to contact them. All the options they provide are unreachable. STAY AWAY!!!
