One star is too much

I sent three phones to Phone Recyclers in March 2016 and was promised 44.38. I then forgot all about it. In December I received a cheque, for the full amount. In January the cheque was returned by my bank unpaid...

Avoid at all costs!

I wish I had read these reviews. I was quoted £47 in May 2016 for an unlocked used iPhone 4S which was then reduced to £3 as they said it was locked and faulty! The phone had been working fine up until I sent it.

After various emails with varying quotes up to £15 I asked them to return the phone which they then said they would charge me £15 for as it was not in the condition I described. Further emails followed and eventually in September they returned a phone to me free of charge, but this was not in the same condition as my phone and didn't work. I managed to get the serial number from iTunes which proved this was not my phone as I still have the original packaging and serial number of my phone!!!

I have only managed to get through on the phone once and have sent numerous emails which are now being ignored since I challenged them on the phone they have sent me. I asked to raise a formal complaint through their procedure in November and have still had no response.

I can't believe the average review is 3 stars as it doesn't even warrant 1 star. I have reported them to Trading Standards.

I've been caught as well!

Similar experience to others - price agreed on December 1st then nothing further, no response to emails or phone calls.

Avoid - I see they no longer appear on the comparison websites

DISHONEST!!! AVOID!!! DODGY!!!!

My bad - I didn't checked the reviews before... Avoid!!! They attract people with high prices - for Iphone 6s 120 gb they quoted me with £265 and finally offered £195 as they noticed some damages... That is a totall lie!!! I kept my phone in heavy duty protective case from day one and there was absolutely no damage!!!!!! I responded to them, but no answer... BTW - still waiting for my money to arrive.... I'm worried after reading some reviews, that I may not receive it??? People do yourself a favor and don't use this company!!!!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS !!!!!

Like many others have been duped by this cowboy outfit.offered lower price as they stated phone was deeply scratched and corrupt when in fact there was nothing wrong,as it was going to cost for the return of my phone I accepted the revised amount, which I'm still waiting for payment after six weeks.when you finally get through they give false promises and never reply to emails.please do not use this company and make the same mistake as I have.
I have like others reported this to the ombudsman and trading standards.

Avoid at all cost

I have now started court action to recover my money. They had my phone for over 45 days. They own me £105.60 in total for an Apple iPhone 5S 16GB. I will also contacted the police for fraud.

So you have been warned - Avoid!

Never received payment

I sent Phone Recyclers an old Nexus S handset in early November 2016.
Was initially quoted £11.00 online for a faulty/damaged handset.
Once they received the handset I was offered £5.50. This was actually fair enough, it was badly scratched and would not power on at all.

After replying to say that I was happy with the priced the money never showed up. The did send the same offer email on two more occasions which I replied to again to no avail.

If I can't even get £5.50 from them I would not recommend sending them a valuable handset!

Frustrating and unacceptable!

Sent my galaxy s5 in end of November after I was quoted £110...days later a revised quote of £55! I refused this offer so they changed their minds to £65. I was wary then and thought they will probably charge me to return the phone so I accepted it.
After a week I rang and finally got through. I could barely understand the guy on other end. He muttered something about £70 and he will pay me in 10 days...well I'm still waiting. I have lost count how many times I have tried ringing and sent so many emails, none have been replied to!
Like everybody else this is so frustrating and thy shouldn't get away with it. It is theft in my eyes. Stay well clear. Wish I had of seen these reviews before I sent away a really good phone!

Awful company DO NOT USE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES

Like others I had the mis-pleasure of using this scum company. They told me they were going to first offer, £100 but then said can only do £50. I agreed to this they told me would be BACS transfer would take 5 working days. 4 weeks later no money and no returned phone. You email no reply, you ring and they their customer service agents are all busy.

Well phone recyclers I have spoken with trading standards today and also action fraud and you will be receiving something from them very soon. I urge everyone else who has had the displeasure of dealing with these crooks to do the same as their address is listed correctly according to Trading Standards which is bizarre considering most fraudulent companies don't have a correct existing address

Call them people don't let these crooks get away with it and scam others.

Worst Company I have ever dealt with

Was originally offered £75 for my phone in november when i sent it in the value decreased to £35 I then requested for the phone to be sent back to me on 8 separate occasions which it hasn't. I am still waiting and it is now January and I have still not received my property I have tried calling numerous times to be told nobody is available and have been emailing the company for 3 months for no response, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

THE WORST COMPANY EVER!

Like all the previous reviews...DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I like everyone else after sending in 2 phones from trusted sites took a lower offer as it was going to cost me £15.00 to have them sent back. I got through yesterday after numerous attempts and they told me the money will be in my bank by 4pm....guess what still no money. I have recorded his confirmation and now will be taking them to court ( my husband is a lawyer!) they must he fake and will make sure they are stopped from this scam. It will be reported to all neccesary that can stop this happening!

DO NOT SEND YOUR PHONE TO THIS COMPANY. ITS A SCAM. TAKE THEM TO SMALL CLAIMS COURT ONLINE

I should of checked trust pilot first but believed them to be a legitimate organised company as they were quick enough for th courier company UPS to pick up my iPhone 5c and my iPhone 5s. I was quoted £190. They have had my phones for nearly 3 months and ignore all my emails. Initially they knocked the price down to £130. Making up lies about scratches. I video recorded my phones which were near immaculate and would of got that price for one of my phones. I saw on eBay they were all selling in auction in worse conditions and people were getting £150 for the 5S alone. I kept sending emails to send them back to me and they increased the price to about £150 for both phones. I still wasn't happy and they then said about £167. At first I said no I want them back and time went by so I thought just put an end to it so I accepted their final offer. It then said sale successful you will receive the money in your bank. That was at the beginning of December 2016. Since then no money. No phones back and they ignore all my emails. I will be reporting them to trading standards and the police as they have my phones which are worth hundreds so technically they have stole them. Also contacting watchdog as they were previously on there for a scam. But they already had both my iPhones. I have never had so much hassle and disrespect from a company online or instrore. DO NOT SEND YOUR PHONES TO THIS COMPANY. IT IS A SCAM. I only sent them as thought hassle free rather than sell them myself. IM DISGUSTED THIS SO CALLED COMPANY IS ABLE TO STILL TRADE. I WILL BE REPORTING THEM.

UPDATE CHEQUE RECEIVED AND BOUNCED IN JAN. WASNT SURPRISED

UPDATE I AM NOW IN THE process of taking the company to small claims court. It cost me £25 which if the court rule in my favour which I am sure they will as I have so much evidence I am also entitled to court costs back. I am suing them out for the price the phones were selling for at Christmas time as I sent them so many emails stating I want my phones back. They were given until a certain date to defend themselves. Offer full or part payment and they ignored so I can now ask for judgement. TBH I would not be surprised if they could cover all tracks. I can't believe they are still trading. Been on the website and they offered so much money for an iPad and iPhone. I have never come across a scam company that are left to continue trading. Has anyone actually done anything like contact trading standards?
