15 photos, 3 shipments, Stopped at border

I ordered about 15 photos, for my friend in Europe while I live in America. I used this site because I thought it would be close and somewhat quick. Wrong! The photos are being printed in Malaysia. I paid extremely high shipping prices, it took forever and they sent it out in 3 different shipments. Each shipment got stopped at the border by customs and needed special clearance information that photobook Europe was unable to provide.

I ordered from their website over 1 month ago, and still haven't received my order...

After 2-3 weeks of waiting, I got told that the frame I chose was sold out. Then finally after a month my order got shipped out. However I have been waiting for over a week now. Tracking isn't working and customer support doesn't know where the parcel is...

Stay clear from this website.

Please do NOT ever order from Photobook.com

We ordered a few plagues from Photobook, the quality is extremely poor and not acceptable, the colour is different from the originals (e.g. white colour is yellowish) and they only offer 18% compensation of the total cost. I have requested for a reprint but there is not reply. Please do not order from Photobook, you will regret.

One of the worst printing people I have ever dealt with; If you have any other options, keep away from these people. Their delay in doing printing job is just unacceptable, Place them an order if you can wait for r for months.

Absolutely appalling service

1st they shipped 1 print after a week, the other print took over a month to ship and when it arrived they just included the packing slip, no print. I have been emailing them back and forth for over a week in order to get the prints that I ordered over 1 month ago. I had to send photo evidence of what I received (it's not like it was an expensive gift, just a standard 6x4inch print) and they finally agreed to re-print and send out what I ordered and paid for over 1 month ago. Originally they offered me a store credit for the inconvenience but now they have sent the print (which I have been waiting for over 1 month to recieve and which has taken numerous emails to get) they are not offering any compensation. So basically I am getting what I ordered and paid for over a month after it was expected and with a lot of unnecessary time and hassle. Do yourself a favour and pick another company!

The worst service and quality ever I…

The worst service and quality ever I have experience with Photobook. The color tone of my canvas totally out of balance and my skins in the canvas print looks like highlighted orange. I have been dealing with Photobook to get reprint canvas with correct colour tone for nearly a month and still going on, until now cant give any solution and they refuse to refund me 100%.

I am so frustrated and disappointed with photobook service and quality. The reprint canvas still has the same issue as the 1st copy which I received. I do not see any correction action taken by Photobook. They still insist not going to refund me and they are now dragging the replacement canvas printing and cantm provide me the actual date and advise me the status for 3rd reprint canvas printing.

MY PATIENT IS RUNNING THIN NOW. This will be my last order from photobook and I 100% DID NOT recommend to purchase from photobook.

If you did purchase, you may go through all the bad experience that I am now going through.

I wish I had read these reviews before…

I wish I had read these reviews before placing an order with this unprofessional company who provide poor service and poor quality prints.
I ordered 23 photos, 2 came in the first shipment,
15 came in the second shipment which is all costing more money having to pay import taxes to DHL. I am giving up on the remainder.

A BIG CORPORATE SCAMMER

From a Malaysian user- I have never been so APPALLED and disgusted by such a service before. The first and the last time I will ever buy from Photobook Malaysia, plus this is from a corporate brand like yours. In the first place if you couldn't perform your service due to high demand or whatsoever, then DON'T DO IT.

I wanted to create photobooks for my recent wedding and I came across your Shopee promo displayed on 31.12.2021. RM159 Original Price for Imagewrap Small Landscape 8" X 6" 40 pages slashed down to a whooping RM11. I thought, wow what a steal. And seeing all the good reviews and about 6k people bought your product, I thought why not and I better purchased it asap.

My BIGGEST MISTAKE was I didn't read your low star ratings. And I should have before I now became one of those reviewers who suffered throughout this entire purchasing process, right down to redeeming.

The Warning Signs:
1. NO REPLIES to my queries at all. Unresponsive is an understatement. If you decide you want to use Autobots, then make sure to indicate you won't be replying personal queries. And worst, it doesn't even work properly! (been clicking available options but nothing came up)

2. NOT USER-FRIENDLY application. We are left to figure it out ourselves how to redeem the voucher after purchasing at the website. Referring to my point above, when I had questions about it asked at Shopee - there was no one to assist AT ALL.

3. THE ACTUAL EXPIRY DATE NOT INDICATED in your list of policies. Other than the good price steal, I bought your voucher is because your policy specifically indicated "Voucher valid within 90 days of purchase." And voila! Upon entering the code after 4 HOURS of editing the photobook at the checkout page - my voucher EXPIRED. Are you kidding me?

I bought it on 31st December 2021, and I used it just on 3rd Jan 2022. What happened? If you need us to use it on the same day we purchased the voucher, why not just SAY IT??!! You think it only takes a short while to design the photobook is it? It's bad enough that we can only implement the voucher RIGHT AFTER we finish the designing process, not before

4. PRICE TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE. Don't bother throwing so much discounts if you couldn't be bothered to do things right. I really do feel like I'm scammed out of this ordeal.

Thank you for teaching me such a valuable lesson, at this price (thankful to have only purchased 1 copy instead of my intended 3) - to NEVER TRUST this sort of thing ever again. To think I'm even willing to pay more pages and consider upgrading as I wanted to share my wonderful memories with my loved ones, well - it ain't happening anymore.

P/S: Contacted your Shah Alam office, came across your automated machine saying "no agents available". Emailed you on this already and also texted you at LIVE CHAT

And woaaaahh did you just HIDE MY RATING on your Shopee account? Did you not think people wouldn't know what you did? I am certainly not surprised by your "professionalism"

was it luck? I was very pleased!

I came across this website through a google search and have to admit I only saw the reviews after purchasing a couple of vouchers off the site. I was so put off by the bad reviews that I almost didn't place my order, in the end with xmas around the corner I decided to risk it - and what should I say? the books arrived within 3 days in Germany (express delivery) and the quality is fine.

Here's what I LOVED:
- Cross-country feature: my family is split across two continents. I have been searching for a site for ages where I can create one project (Photobook or calendar) and ship it to 2 different countries. So far, this is the ONLY site I found where this is possible. small catch: you will need to contact customer support. I still haven't worked out what time zone they're in, but I received an answer and my project was transferred to the other country store the next day (approx 10 hours later). the same login works for any country store and you can place the order in the respective currency.

- customer support: not only the tone of voice on the site in the help section but also in the live chat is super friendly! I contacted them twice, once for the project transfer and again to check on my order status after finding out that bad weather had impacted some of their production facilities and again the answer came approx 10-12 hours later, with the tracking number of my shipment. through a banner at the top customers are informed if there are delays to be expected. it would have been great to get all books before xmas, but in these current times nothing is certain unfortunately...

- Online editor: worked really well. I've tried different services over the years (snapfish, cewe, foto.com...) and this is one of the more modern ones. very happy with the design options and usability.

-Quality: Ok - probably 4.8 stars - there are more high quality options out there but I also just chose the default on the lay flat image wrap 8x11" book. happy with the result for what I needed it for (keepsake for the grandparents and aunties...)

Why not 5 stars?

- low rating: I never feel confident placing orders on sites with low trust pilot scores. there are no responses from customer support on these posts here, so they either don't get read or prioritised. I decided to take the plunge and was happy with the result but can see where some of the negative reviews are coming from. the packaging was not super sturdy and could have been damaged during transit easily, and yes - at least part of my order came from Malaysia - so it's travelled a far way.

- Transparency: it's quite tricky to work out where this company is located and producing. I was (wrongly) assuming production takes place in each region, I ordered through photobookeurope and photobooknewzealand. my European order came from Malaysia, my NZ order seems to have been produced in Australia and is being shipped from there.. I like to order locally and part of my search for a provider that can ship to multiple countries Is to avoid sending parcels across the world unnecessarily.

- Pricing: The site works through vouchers and heavily discounted sales. I doubt that anyone would order the products at full price, and I would also find it way too expensive then. through bundled deals that you purchase in advance and have 3 months to redeem the company secures cash and you don't have to rush your project out. there are several optional add-ons that can easily bump up the price of the final product (like higher quality paper), but you can avoid this by reading everything carefully. you also should be very careful in checking what product you actually want when buying the vouchers, there are so many options and the vouchers are really only valid for that exact option.

- SHIPPING: this is a MAJOR cost factor and almost doubled the price of my books. to be fair there is a shipping calculator but I usually don't even look at these because I never think that shipping will be so much. trust me - It's a LOT on this site. then again they use trusted couriers (DHL Express and AusPost). local vendors here often use dodgy couriers that either don't "find" your address or leave the parcel somewhere without notifying you. As the orders are produced overseas the high shipping costs are explainable, but still worth considering. In the end I paid approx 30 € per 40-page Photobook for 3 books incl. shipping. This is ok compared to local standards but far from the 16€ deal I purchased.

I'm not someone to review sites often and sorry for the ramble. but I was really pleased with the result and especially the customer support. so they're either really working on improving their quality or the negative reviews here are odd happenstances. I don't know but I will order again! Thank you.

Ordered in UK and as per their website, 7 to 10 days delivery, received email that there are problem and can not fulfil my order, After waiting for two weeks, cancelled order for a refund, they are refusing the refund. Update 22nd Nove 2021, Pay Pal has refunded my money, thank you Pay Pal

So disappointed …

So disappointed I ordered a Photobook for delivery to Abu Dhabi for the 16th Oct my sons 30th Birthday was on the 17th & the book never arrived, no reason given, no emails answered. I am very upset & still do not know where the book is, I have paid £180 for this book only to be treated appallingly, Huge disappointment don’t use this company is my advise.

Terrible customer service and lack of responsibility

I've ordered a set of stickers for my business. Not only have they arrived late (over a month), but they came damaged. I informed Photobook team of my disappointment with the quality of the product and requested a refund. The team offered to send another set of stickers, which I refused since the quality of the product was... substandard at best. Photobook refused my request for refund, and offered to provide me with store credits instead. Now, a month after such promise, I have not received the credits, nor a refund. Moreover, second set of stickers which I ordered originally hasn't arrived yet after 2 months. Avoid Photobook at any cost!

Photobook Singapore is terrible

Photobook Singapore is terrible, many people are cheated by their delivery time, quality and the location. I placed order for my anniversary before 3 weeks but until 3 weeks my order is still in production. When I asked why its late then they were telling so many reasons many order, not enough staff and government issue. This is not acceptable and ridiculous. For those who are looking for the quality product and delivery on time please avoid Photobook SG. It was a bad experience.

Poor service

Poor customer service, They have mentioned that shipping period is 7days in their website, It's been 12 days since placed my order and it's still showing ready to be shipped. I have created a album for my anniversary now that's gone :( There is no proper response from customer service. They are charging more than 20 USD for shipping charges but not delivering on time. We can avoid placing order if we are gifting for any specific occasion. Worst service

Was brought to a machine-response that told me no agents were available after waiting for a long while for a response. All of this for an order that specified it was "ready to print" for 10 days now. I hesitate to call them a scam purely out of this experience but the lack of communication would have left anyone anxious and frustrated.

All Access Pass not honoured, customer service not answering

They actually used to be good, photo books are good although the options are terribly confusing and there are often good discounts. They always delivered everything, so I'm a bit surprised about the reviews claiming they didn't deliver the goods... HOWEVER.
I bought a Photobook Pass Plus All Access, including free delivery on most products for 1 year. The pass is valid until 3rd August.
Earlier this year I got an email saying the system was changing and the Pass would now include a limited credit for shipping, which is pointless. The pass is £79, the credit is £99, might as well pay for what I use. Their delivery prices are extortionate so the Pass was the only way to go for someone using the service often.
I contacted Photobook immediately to ask what the score was with the old passes, and they clearly replied that they would be honoured and I would have free shipping until the expiry date in August. If I decided then to renew my pass, the new rules would apply.
I recently bought a number of prepaid vouchers for a batch of photo books I'm selling, advertising them with free delivery. When I went to ship the orders, I realised I was now being charged for delivery.
I tried to contact customer service by chat and had no reply, then by phone and the message says their opening hours are 8 to 10am. only!!
I need to urgently ship the books I had ordered but now if I have to pay shipping I'm only gonna lose out so I'm stuck waiting for a reply and I've invested my savings into this book.
I'm furious to say the least. I've been a customer for years and now I'll look elsewhere, but in the meanwhile I can't just lose the money I've pre paid.
Very disappointed. Customer service as well used to be responsive at all hours.

Poor customer service

Poor customer service workers that will never truly help you to solve the problems.

I uploaded 22 images to their server via my iPad. Yet, my iPad broke and I lost all my precious images. I know that I can view the images via "My Photo". However, I just want to get back the original 22 full resolution images (4000px X 4000px ) that I uploaded to their server (or at least in a higher resolution). Therefore, I seeked help from them politely and asked if they can send me back the images.

So far, I have met five customer service workers. Two of them mentioned that they could do this but without following up. One of them even mentioned that the editor would use the full resolution photos that I originally uploaded in the final product. The others just reply me that they could not do this.

When one of the customer service workers mentioned that the editor has the full resolution version of my photos and she could send me the images back as png files, it is the matter whether they WANT to do this, NOT whether they CAN do this or not.

I feel really frustrated not only because I needed to wait for their replies for a long time each time, I also feel frustrated because I have contacted one of them with 11 emails, and the four customer service workers with so many messages via the chatbox. Yet, none of them can really help me to solve the problem.

I cannot imagine how frustrated I will feel if I really place an order via Photobook.

Update: Finally received the 22 images I wanted which was sent by the sixth customer service worker that I encountered, after posting this review.

TERRIBLE QUALITY AND BAD SERVICE
I ordered a 2021 calendar from them. Uploaded high resolution images that I had professionally prepared by a photoshop artist. The calendar they sent was full of pictures so blurry that in some cases I couldn't even make out the faces of the people in the pictures. It is going straight into the garbage and I will have to re-order from another company. Waste of $35. On top of this, the customer service is non-existent. I could never get a human reply to my messages. My order spent the first entire week as "ready to print". When I contacted them for an update, I got a generic message about how their couriers were experiencing delays - for an order they hadn't even printed yet. Order showed up one week late, and it was rubbish quality. They also mislead people regarding where they are located, by pretending to be in your local country - they are not. They do all of their printing in Malaysia, and you will have to deal with shipping, customs and duty from there. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
