Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 46 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Consumers frequently spend considerable time completing lengthy questionnaires, only to be unfairly disqualified at the final stage without receiving any financial compensation for their effort. People also mentioned that recent platform updates introduced annoying technical glitches, while payout rates and redemption options have decreased significantly. Some reviewers were not happy with the customer support team, explaining that email responses are usually automated and completely unhelpful. Many users noted that reaching the strict minimum payout threshold has become nearly impossible under the newly introduced system rules.

A Special Thanks🤝

I have been taking surveys for Pinecone for several months. I have enjoyed taking surveys for them and appreciate them and thank them very much for the opportunity. There surveys may not be every day, but they pay good when you get them and every dollar is great now days. I plan to continue helping Pinecone when I get the opportunity and I thank and appreciate there goodness and honesty to me. Thank you Pinecone

wish more surveys offered

For what it is, it is about as reliable as other survey groups out there. Definitely used to make more before they made changes and got to try more products. The good...you get paid quickly and have many payment options. The bad...not too many surveys offered anymore.

I have been a member of Pinecone for…

I have been a member of Pinecone for ten years now and never had a problem. I never get kicked off a survey and payment is always very fast (usually by the next day). I would like them to send more surveys through though as usually its only 1 a month.

Absolutely avoid this place

Absolutely avoid this place. Based on my experience, I can only surmise that Pinecone Research exist merely to harvest personal data, and then sell or otherwise pass this data on to third parties.
I completed a lengthy joining application survey, which included giving various personal information to them including names and dates of birth of all of my family members and those living at my house, salary and employment information etc. I begrudgingly provided this information in good faith in order to sign up (not really interested in their surveys, I was signing up as I was given an incentive on another Site), but after a sufficient period of time has elapsed, this disgraceful organisation has not confirmed my account (so I do not get the incentive I was promised), yet they do have all the sensitive information I provided to them including that detailed above and more. And it took ages to sign up and complete the survey as it was so long winded.

PCR Has Been in Decline for a While

PCR & I go back quite a way. There was a time when I enjoyed getting survey invites, & even the occasional product to review, from this once reputable consumer research group. That was then. Since the early 2000s they've morphed into a lumbering oaf of contempt & complacency. There are no personnel at this firm who give a crap. The only person who may begrudgingly reply is the co.'s Jill of all trades, Karen Scott, the woman who refused to reactivate my dormant accnt this past spring. Karen, your disdainful attitude can not sit well with me or myriad others. If you want evidence of this, have a look at your firm's mediocre user-satisfaction scores.)

Started off well a few years ago and…

Started off well a few years ago and they paid out decent amounts for surveys and goods tests at home, toothpaste, chocolate, disinfectant sprays and the like. However after three years membership and accruing several points they cancelled my membership without telling me and I lost my points. I queried the sudden unexplained annulment with them and their brief reply was that I no longer fitted their demographic and that was it.Be very aware of joining them and claim your rewards as soon as possible if you do.I won't use them again and I've told them so.

Avoid like the plague

Avoid like the plague. As others have said, they used to be really good but now you can't communicate with them, e-mails are ignored or a standard template reply is sent out. There's no address or phone number for them. They owe me for completed surveys. I would share the opinion of others that this company is now just a scam

Used to be great company but sadly gone downhill

Been a panelist with Pinecone for last few years. Good quality surveys with good incentives to buy some gifts for kids. However, over the last year or so, its gone downhill with too many technical issues, accounts getting locked for no reason. Responses are poor and often delayed. Not a very reliable survey site anymore. Just make sure you keep regularly withdrawing your incentives in smaller amounts just in case you get locked out of your account and lose access to your earnings!

I have been a member four weeks ago…

I have been a member four weeks ago completed first survey with them, they sent 3 dollar check that is cool. Since then I have been locked out of my account. Sent 4 emails at least. No response. Meantime I get survey invite through email I complete that ,get email saying I earned 3 more dollars. However I still can't log in to my account. Nothing back from customer service. I have noticed this is happening to alot of other members. They are legit sight, they pay and surveys are well designed ,however I think there customer service has major issues

Better than the rest

I joined several panels and this is the best. The surveys are well designed and clearly for genuine companies. I choose to redeem my points for cash (PayPal) after each survey and have never had a problem with payment. They send less surveys than other companies but this is because they dont send irrelevant or poorly thought out ones.

Pinecone Research - ignoring emails from panelists

Pinecone Research used to be a good company to deal with, giving fairly fast responses to emails and queries answered promptly. Now it seems its gone downhill. No response to a query regarding a missing credit despite emailing numerous times. They claim that they will 'troubleshoot the problem' if an 'incentive' isn't received - but they can't be bothered to reply to emails regarding a problem! I have sent a great number of emails to them. They keep sending me surveys but I have stopped doing them until I am paid (as promised) for something returned - because the trust is gone. Panelists would seem to be just a number with this company - with little or no regard to good communication or sorting out any issues that arise with non payment.

This company has badly wasted my time

This company has badly wasted my time. I have completed surveys for over a year and chose to redeem my points and get Amazon vouchers. The vouchers never arrived. All my chaser enquiries have been ignored.
This company is a scam and I recommend not getting involved with them. Scammers.

Good survey company, easy to receive rewards

I like doing surveys for Pinecone Research. They are always on interesting topics usually related to grocery purchases and occasionally you will be sent a product to test.
Your points are credited to your account a couple of days after completion and you can either store the points there to use in their online shop or redeem them straight away via bank transfer or Paypal. The payments do take a couple of days to go through but I havent ever had any problems redeeming them.

Keep changing the rules to suit them!

They used to send you payment in the form of vouchers for each survey automatically,
Now you have to collect them and exchange at a certain point, except you have to register your paypal to get something useful and you can't do this on the website and they never reply to the emails.......VERY UNFAIR
They owe me in excess of £100!!!!!

Feel very, very let down by this survey company

I was a reasonably new panelist and was being sent a large number of surveys which I duly completed.
From the onset I received luncheon vouchers which I was happy with. I was then told they no longer do these so I set up a paypal account instead.
Over the past two weeks (whilst awaiting over £25 from Pinecone) I have phoned them three times, been promised on numerous occasions that I would receive this payment and that it was being dealt
with as a matter of urgency via management and by their accounts section. Nothing has been done and no recent payments have been forthcoming. The last time I phoned I asked to speak to a manager but they did not want to speak with me.
I have been given contradictory information by email - "Yes you can get luncheon vouchers, no you cannot get luncheon vouchers, yes you can get them, no you cannot, etc etc). Their most recent email told me i could get them but it was too late - I had already redeemed the points for a paypal payout.. which has never happened, and I am certain now that they will not pay.
I am so upset with this company and I feel very let down by them AND I feel used. My time and my effort all for nothing. It feels as if I am hitting my head against a rock trying to get them to sort this out. They simply do not care. I am sorry but I really cannot recommend them. Not at all.
