What they don't tell you is that...

What they don't tell you is that, you don't own the free games. When your subscription expires, you get locked out of the games you already downloaded from the free catalogue.

So basically, you have to subscribed forever in order to play those free games. It is a scam!

SONY and the Jim Ryan goon squad

SONY back in the day were once the benchmark of electronic devices, they had great customer service and products were of a high quality standard.

SONY are the complete opposite now, especially focusing on the PS+ and all their money hungry scams is the fastest way of ruining their reputation.

Being forced to pay for a subscription for common services like save data backup is a monstrous betrayal from Jim Ryan and his PS goon squad, but I’ve jumped ship and these scumbags aren’t scamming a single cent from me…

ABSOLUTELY AVOID THESE SCAMMERS!

NOT WORTH IT.......PERIOD!!!

$99.99/year, or some special deal sometimes at $59.99/year!! BS!!! 1 month at $9.99 is not even worth it. It is a waste of hard earned $$$ The $%^@ always freezes online and kicks ME off saying "due to inactivity" which is ridiculous if you are working on a roster in Madden, etc. The hell with Autosave because that is not even worth. You can't even have a backup for "just in case." FRUSTRATING!!! Bogus games that are really not free...rented for limited time. I could go on and on but don't have time. BOTTOMLINE: DON'T BOTHER!!!

Please avoid!

If I could give zero stars I would. The customer service is appalling. They will not give money back on the subscription even though they have admitted they can see I cancelled it. I tried to escalate and have been ignored by the escalation process. In the current financial climate I’m absolutely shocked that a company like this would be so blatant in its disregard for its customers. I have been waiting 3 weeks and still yet to hear from them

Customer service/Ps+

Customer service:Drove me trough a check list for a game openly full of with bugs.The last step on the list :
Get another PS4,Install and test the game on it and send us a video.... Basically I can't win. They just force me to choose don't care becouse it's not worth it ..
Ps+ :I would prefer to pay only a minimal amount for online playing with my friend .The game selection lame and too expensive .The poster games they use for advertising never available.Thats legal scamming if you ask me .You can download games for free but mostly bad and old ones you wouldn't pay for anyway.

The essential also give you games probably you have already becouse they are the good games not like the ones you could get for free in ps+
I have almost all. Or I will buy it for much cheaper.

Pay for Multiplayer? No thanks

PS plus is fine if it's just for some exclusive things, some more games. But forcing me to pay a god damn subscribtion just to be able to play online with friends on a game that by itself is not cheap whatsoever? That a massive scam if I've ever seen one. The game at that point is kind of useless, since the multiplayer is pretty much the whole core of the game.
I own a physical copy of a game, for a month it ran normally, I don't own Ps Plus at all, never have, and now it suddenly changed and forces me to pay if I wanna play.
If you have extra money lying around you are not gonna use, buy PS plus for the extra few games a month you can get, but if you want it just for online, don't bother.
"Play more, Pay less" ?
That is not true for a while now

False advertising and ignored emails

I upgraded to PlayStation's new premium tier but noticed some of the advertised games were missing
I contacted support via webchat on 27/06 and after a lot of back and forth was told someone from the technical team would email me about my query
On the 5th July I received an email informing me those games were not available in my region and provided a link to a list of my available games.
I clicked the link and the games in question were there. I replied with the screenshot and said the games are there.
To date I have received no reply despite sending two follow up emails. I'm not sure I'd have bothered upgrading if I knew the advertised games weren't available.

As customer service goes its appalling and I only gave one star as zero didn't appear to be an option.

To anybody who has experienced/ been a…

To anybody who has experienced/ been a victim of the 'auto-renew' scam, be aware that even if YOU HAVE turned off the auto renew function within your account settings, don't be fooled... it WILL automatically turn its self back on. The best steps to take are to delete your payment details within account settings, and then contact or log in to your bank account and block payments to Sony that way. After being with, and owning every Sony console since the dawn of the PS1. I had had enough of these scummy underhand tactics, so I quit, canceled all payment methods and informed my bank as such. Screw them. I did and I've never looked back. Happy gaming campers.

Be aware

Be aware, We purchased the ps plus couple of years ago for our son. I cancelled the automatic renewal and deleted all card details. 12 months and no problem, straight after that the problems all started. They took a payment out the credit card that we originally used of £49.99. We rang them straight away, they said that as we had subscribed originally they can take payments out of the card even if the card had been removed. As we had phoned within 14 days they will refund it as a gesture of goodwill. I told them that I do not want it to be taken out going forward and cancelled. I was assured that it was. 12 months down the line another payment was taken out. I was fuming as I already had emails to prove the last time I wanted it cancelled. When I tried to sort this out with PS direct, I was told that as it’s within 14 days I can cancel it but as a gesture of goodwill was done previously, nothing can be done this time. Totally dissatisfied by what I was told, I rang my bank and did a chargeback. As I had previous emails proving that I didn’t want this ongoing subscription. The chargeback was authorised, and the money was in my account. One week later my son got an email from PS to state as the chargeback was actioned the account is no suspended until the £49.99 is paid back. Rang PS, as this was very annoying. What does the PS PLUS have to do with the account my son had for his PlayStation. It’s a scam. They won’t let you have access to the account until you subscribe to their online subscription. I’m still waiting for a manager to call me back!!!!!

Sony you really have taken ps paid subscription to a joke , full price no more stacking a lot of us stacked due to buying ps plus in sales when available ? This month I’d bought the £50 gift card to put on my ps plus subscription as it was running out saw the changes, looked up what was going off . Let’s say now that I was lucky I didn’t open it so returned and refunded. I’ve been a loyal customer since ps came out but now I’m swapping to Xbox . Better value you don’t need a subscription to get free games anymore. Microsoft have removed Xbox live requirements for free to play games huge bonus !! And the 3 tiers subscription what a joke , all my friends are doing the swap and dumping there PlayStations , lots of customers will be dumping you over your greed. . And I never thought I’d say Im going Xbox but you forced my hand bye .

Good luck if you ever want to cancel

Just wanted to write of my frustration. Tried to cancel the service through the phone loged in to their wepage, but got a "failure" message. Been trying 3 times again since then. So I thought "ok.. Let me write to their support", but no no no, they had closed the option to even write to them. OK so I start up my playstation which I never use, so I have to update the system which takes forever, then log in again, then find my way to setting (which also loaded 5+ min?) to cancel this subscription.. Was this your way of trying to keep a customer? Because I will never ever return, ever.

Its worth the Money

I mean, 12 months subscription for £50 + You get £50 worth of games every month, that's a steal, yet, there might be some arguments in these games, but still, it is worth the money.

Absolutely abysmal

Absolutely abysmal. Basic features are held hostage behind a paywall and the "free" monthly games are z-list trash or games that you already own if you were bothered about them. I shouldn't have to pay that much for cloud saves and the once or twice a year I do online gaming.

Wouldn't recommend they suspend your account for defending yourself against bullies whilst the perpetrator gets iff scotts free

I was playing wwe 2k19 online and i had loads of verbal abuse including been called a peado so i sent him a few messages back and playstation has suspended my account for a week even though i have paid for the service absolutely disgusting i honestly felt like cancelling my membership im a 25 year old man and im been punished for sticking up for my rights this isn't f***ing school you know playstation and the way i see it you owe me a week of playstation subscription.
