Very bad

They came , assessed the cost for the repair , asked for a 50 % deposit , the work was never carried out , they never refunded the deposit, the case is progressing to the small claims court avoid at all costs

DO NOT TRUST THEM

They came to my house and in less than 15 minutes told me that they needed to replace two parts and quoted me £800. They come and replace the parts to let me know that something else is the issue and try to quote me more money!!! I got a third party to test the parts that they took out and they are completely FUNCTIONAL and even better than the cheap ones that they replaced them with. I asked for a 50% discount and they blocked my number! DO NOT USE THEM AT ALL COSTS

Please stay away

My experience is similar to most of the reviews for this company. I had a boiler that stopped working. I called them and a young engineer- named Marcel (or Anthony) arrived with an attitude of an expert. He stated that the boiler is ''done'' and needs replacing or if I wanted to repair it would be the main heat exchanger. He quoted around £1000 for the repair and I made the mistake to pay upfront £547, so he can ''order the parts'' as he said.The earliest he could do it would be in 3-4 days. In the meantime I managed to fix the boiler by just replacing a part costing around £50... Since Monday 1st of July I have been trying to get my money back and Scott initially promised to refund me but that never happened. Two weeks later he changed his story and said that Plunger did not receive any money so I will have to liaise with the engineer - Marcel. I believe this company should be shut down, the only thing they do is finding people in despair and convincing them to hire them for a job that either is not required or it is overpriced anyway.

Terrible Experience with Unreliable and Overpriced Plumbing Service

I had an awful experience with this plumbing service. They were supposed to arrive between 11 AM and 1 PM, but by 1:30 PM, there was still no sign of them. I contacted the office, and a gentleman named Scott assured me they would call within 15 minutes.

That call never came.

Instead, I had to call back nine more times before the plumbers finally showed up. This was incredibly frustrating and unprofessional.

When they finally arrived, they inspected a small leaky tap and quoted me an outrageous £275 + VAT to replace the cartridge. I declined the service, as the price seemed excessive. This is when Scott, the office representative, became quite agitated and insisted there was a callout charge, despite the website clearly stating there is no such fee.

This company is a total scam. They are unreliable, overpriced, and do not honor their own advertised policies. Save yourself the hassle and money—do not use this service.

Unjustied astronomically high prices

The replacement of a boiler pump costed me 830 pounds. When they gave me the rate I had to insist to find out how much of it was the cost of the pump itself, and how much would be the cost of labour. They said the pump would cost 400 pounds, and that this was a long and complicated job, and that this was a one-off rate. The job was done in just over one hour. So this turned out to be an insanely expensive and totally unjustified rate. I will never call them again in future. I would avoid.

Con company will rip you off - avoid

Con company, sent an unqualified youngster to investigate pipe noise, wasted time opening the boiler, stopping the water etc, and didn’t solve the problem. Charged £275 deposit claiming a new tap was needed for a total cost of £550 to be fitted next day. Took cash but no receipt. Turned out to be nothing to do with the tap, we simply had to replace the dishwasher aquastop hose which we did ourself. Plunger were rude, no help at all and a complete fraud and RIP OFF and have stolen our money. Avoid, how they are in business is beyond me.

ABSOLUTELY STAY AWAY!
Reported to trading standards and going through court to get my money back.
Called out for no hot water. Engineer came a day late and late for the appointment and said it the boiler was cracked and needed to be entirely replaced, no other solution. He quoted my £3000, but good news was he would have it installed 2 days later. I felt I had no other option but to accept and had to pay 50% upfront. We then noticed once he left he had caused a leak damaging the floor. Did not come to install 2 days later, or 7 days later, or 3 months later. Always excuses and suddenly stopped answering. Basically ran away with my money! Now had another person look at it. All it needed was a new temperature probe (£15) and a new T&P valve (£35). Job done and all in working order. Very shady and dishonest people, multiple companies registered with all the worst reviews you can think of.

RIPPED OFF MY DISABLED MOTHER, DO NOT USE

Worse service I've ever used, asked the office to book for after 4 as the job was in my heavily disabled mother s house and she wanted me there, 2 scruffy large men turned up at 12, upon answering the door my mother was very frightened, she informed them she booked it for 4 and the guy told her it was now or never because he wasn't coming back at 4, so she was pressured to let them in, he took the cover off her boiler created a leak and then told my mother there's a leak and she needs a new boiler which would cost £3500, she could not afford this on her pension so he said bye and left, they were in the property for exactly 10 minutes, charged her £94 and made her boiler worse!! I then called to complain which i did,on which I was told I would be called back to discuss and I'm still waiting it was 3 days ago. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!

Not a great experience

As many people said already: you might not have a great experience. They charged me £2200 for a cylinder replacement, I estimate that to be about £600 more than the market price, also keeping into account it was an emergency. They were reluctant to give me proof of warranty of the new boiler. I finally got proof that the product was registered, but not using my email, so I had to call the product manufacturer to get my warranty. Unpleasant and confrontational to deal with. On the plus side: they do react quickly and they installed a good product

Bad Bad Company.

I have called this company various times, they’ve not returned my calls. They have scammed me out of £460 and still did not fix the heating problem. Instead they decided to put an expansion vessel on the boiler which didn’t need it and serviced the boiler. No invoice was sent. No Breakdown was sent, eventually I got a piece of paper through telling you what I’ve paid. Very very poor Customer Service and whoever they send out to do the jobs do not know what they are talking about and charge a lot of money. When they had somebody return they wanted to charge £1000 for fixing the heating on top of the £460 turned out. It was just a thermostatic valve which had a bit of limescale that needed replacing Do not use this company!!!.

I’m very disappointed with this…

I’m very disappointed with this company, two parts: they came to my address showed concern and professionalism to begin with. Payment made in two parts. When asked for the payment receipts on numerous occasions was ignored. Was promised photographs and information from the installer and again no response. Highly disappointed with the after care shown. Quick to respond regarding payment and very alert. But after the job was completed you will receive silent treatment. Please be AWARE. So hard to recommend, so stay away. Approach a different company who will treat you with respect from the start to finish. I rest my case. 😡😡

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. AN APPOINTMENT WAS MADE FOR 9-10AM NO ONE SHOWED UP. CALLED THE COMPANY, THEY LIED TO ME SAYING THE ENGINEER WAS ON ITS WAY. THEN THEY STARTING DECLINING MY CALLS. VERY VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO USE THEIR NO EXISTENT SERVICES.

Worst plumber, don't choose

If there were an option that I can rate it as 0 I would definitely rate it as 0!!! The worst company i have ever used with the worst attitute after you pay them. From the website, it shows fixed price. After they came, here is problem, there is proble. They fixed the water leakage then my boiler doesn't work properly at all without hot water. They came again with my several calls, during which many of my calls were hung up as well. Not responsbile whatsoever. Finally they came again and told me they want to charge me much more after I paid them 580 already.

End story, I have asked another plumber to come and fix it and they did much much better job!

Make sure you don't choose this company as they only say fixed price to trick you to invite them to your home and charge as high as they want.

Absolute rip off

Was trying to sort out several repairs at once while visiting my mother's house and this company contacted me when I posted a tap repair job on Bark.com. Mixer tap in bathroom, with hot side dripping and cold side not functional. Stupidly from me, I didn't check reviews and allowed myself to be railroaded into quote visit, and on viewing the plumber said it was not fixable and needed replacing. Since I had already been charged £100+ for the visit and was running out of time I agreed to a "like for like" replacement which they would come back to do in 2 days time. The original taps cost about £60 but I was charged £200+ with a total bill of £395. Which I suppose I could swallow but the job that was done was frickin atrocious, with the tap not sitting flush with the basin and the nozzle of the tap sitting at a weird angle. The plumber actually had the cheek to tell me what a perfectionist he was! And looked me in the eye to tell me this was the best he could do, it wouldn't sit flush because of the basin and the only other option would be to replace the whole basin unit. He reassured me that it wouldn't loosen further and no water would leak through, also that if I had any problems there was a 12 month warranty in place. Imagine my horror when I visited a month later to find the whole tap hanging off with a gaping hole through which water was entering and destroying the cupboard and contents of the unit below. I contacted these frauds to make use of my warranty but they have completely ignored me. Yesterday at a visit where my brother was also present, he saw the mess that these cowboys left behind and within about 20 minutes he had "set" the taps so they were flush with basin and secure, he added that those taps should not have needed replacing at all if it had been an honest plumber. My brother is not a plumber, his experience amounts to spending a summer reading a DIY manual in 1996 and some YouTube videos, yet he was able to easily fix what these so called professionals could not. I am outraged that these pathetic lowlifes pretended to be professionals and basically scammed an overworked inexperienced female and a disabled old lady, it's doubtful that I will ever get my money back but if I can prevent one more vulnerable person from falling victim to these undesirables with this review, that would be enough. Do not use this company. You will regret it.

EDIT: In response to the shameful denial from the company my invoice is from Plunger Ltd, 3rd floor 86-90 Paul Street, London EC2A 4NE www plunger dot uk dot com and I have emails from Scott Hall - several other reviewers have referenced these details and this company also masquerading as Plumbforce Direct so I have reason to believe I absolutely have the right company

I found them on the internet yesterday-…

I found them on the internet yesterday- I called up to book a Boiler engineer. I was told someone would be around 2 to 4pm that was at about 11something am, time ticked on to 3.59pm I called the main number to see if all was well.

They said their engineers was busy and they'd call me back.

They said this twice.

And I had to call and chase them twice.

In all I called 3 times spoke to a lady and a man called Scott, then the lady again.

RED FLAG!!

I stayed at my property waiting until 6.30pm. Still no call back.

Then I got a call back the next morning at 10.30am about their engineer visting. I said its too late I'm not at my property.

I booked in the next day, came on to this website to check their reviews (because I thought they were going through a blip in their Service) I'm shocked at 79% of people saying how bad they are.

So I called them straight back and cancelled.

Thank Goodness, I read all of your reviews.

Thank you for sharing your horrible experiences and I am also Sorry to read about them.

Don't use them

One of the worst that I've seen. The engineer who visited us was knowledgable but he didn't give me enough information about the next steps, instead he was pushing me to commit for changing some of the items in my heating system, which wasn't neccessary and was charging me for that. Only when I asked for the details several times, he said what is that, and I said I don't want to get them changed.

SCAMMERS UNDER DIFFERENT COMPANY NAMES

SCAMMERS UNDER DIFFERENT COMPANY NAMES! I called a company called ''Plunger'' but they charged me under company name ''Plumbforce direct'' so I assumed there might be several names they used.

The guy named Scott Hall (if that even his real name) came without equipments, car or anything just wore a technician uniform so I let him in. He pretended to diagnose the problem in my boiler but then asked me to pay 336£, which I stupidly did. Then he said he wrongly diagnosed the problem, and promised to come back with another quote. Of course he never showed up again. I then did my search on Trustpilot and realized that those guys are legit scammers and they HAVE BEEN SCAMMING PEOPLE AROUND for longer time. I still remember his face until now, and hope someday this fraud will come to an end. ( I am too tired to report to the police, which all of us should probably do).

I then called another plumber with good reviews and he fixed it within 5mins.
