Whenever we dropped in we felt welcomed and at ease in the Bridport office. Reena Raval herself was efficient and very clear in her explanations as she guided us through a process that had changed considerably since we last sold a house nearly thirty years ago. Throughout we were confident that we were in excellent hands, both in the conveyancing and in drawing up what was quite a complicated post-sale tenancy agreement. We felt that our interests were being meticulously protected and the process was completed speedily with the minimum of stress. We chose Reena because she had been warmly recommended by several of our friends, and now we too would unhesitatingly recommend both her and her team.
Sarah Stone of Porter Dodson came to do our Will and Power of Attorney in person saving us a journey to her office. We found her very thorough and made us feel at ease. It did not take not long before Sarah returned for us to sign the Will. Now we're pleased that we have possession of both our Wills and Powers of Attorney. We highly recommend her for those wanting to do Wills or Powers of Attorney.
A huge thank you to Michelle Wilson and Sonya Bailey, who were able to assist us on an auction property purchase that our normal solicitors couldn't assist with.
Not only were they both extremely professional, but the communication was truly phenomenal and we were able to exchange and complete on the deal in under 14 working days.
I couldn't recommend Michelle, Sonya and the team enough and look forward to many future deals together.
Robyn Greenway was the Solicitor in charge of my business, and from the very beginning she was reliable, always answered queries and replied to emails quickly, answering the often complex questions we put to her; she was patient and honest; she gave superb advice and was just an all around superstar. I'd also like to give kudos to her assistant Lisa, and Jenny and Emma (Conveyancing team) for also doing sterling work on what was a very awkward situation. I could not recommend Porter Dodson highly enough, especially Robyn Greenway.
Catherine Snook looked after the purchase of some land for us. She was an absolute delight to deal with, very knowledgeable and extremely efficient and cost effective. She was able to explain the process in simple terms that we could understand and she did all of the above with a great attitude and sense of humor. I would not hesitate to recommend Catherine and Porter Dodson to others. We will certainly be using them again if the need arises.
I found Reena very communicative and professional throughout the house sell
I have used Michelle and Sonya at the Dorchester branch for several sales and purchases and they have always been thorough and reliable in their dealings. They have provided helpful advice and kept the pressure on other solicitors to ensure that the conveyances have proceeded as quickly and efficiently as possible
Called for a simple eviction notice. All dealt with promptly until I received an email saying 'The notice will be posted on X date.' The notice was not posted. I waited a week and then followed this up. By calling to ask where the notice was cost me an extra 13%. Charging this extra because you could not do what you said you would do it not good enough.
I queried this bill and was told 1 month 9 days later. That this was 'in line with the works carried out.' I was told that if I wished to escalate I could do so. It would be foolish to take a law firm to the small claims court.
Go somewhere else and hope that they will do what they say they will do. Charging me for following up their lack of care and then standing by it may well not be illegal but it is certainly unethical.

Used Porter Dodson for our house sale. Zara and the team in Yeovil have been excellent! Kept us up to date with all aspects of the sale, responded and answered any queries promptly either by phone or email. Reception team also really friendly and helpful. No hesitation in recommending Porter Dodson for conveyancing.
Very thorough, good advice, communication excellent. I should come clean and say I have used them before and will again. Highly recommended.
The service I received from both Reena & Amy (Porter Dodson,Bridport) during my recent house buying process was professional & efficient & both were approachable & responsive
They promptly & fully addressed & answered any questions, queries or concerns I had along the way
Both made what can be a difficult & stressful process just not!
Would not hesitate to recommend
All you can ask for in a conveyancing solicitor, as many have said before. Selling a property is a complex procedure with the need to be accurate. Reena was prompt in all matters relating to our sale (executors based 220 miles away). Mystified to read the recent negative review. Not at all our experience (or many others it seems).
Conveyancing solicitors can have a reputation for being appalling. If you want to find out how appalling they are then use Porter Dodson. Absolutely hopeless, many errors, cost all buyers in the chain (2 of us) a lot of money with their failures, need telephoning every day to find out what is happening, even other solicitors are critical of their performance. Do not use if you want to maintain your mental health.

Thank you so much to Helen and Eileen for helping us navigate through the choppy waters of house moving. Helen was thorough and efficient, with excellent communication throughout. I would definitely recommend.
I found Porter Dodson to be highly professional and efficient. They were on the ball, quick in dealing with issues and communicated regularly.
They were alert to any potential pitfalls and we achieved a very successful outcome.
I have no hesitation in recommending them and would certainly use them again.
Paul was very helpful and spent time discussing our circumstances even though our LPA was very simple.
The whole process was conducted sensitively and professionally.
He took time to listen to us and was not at all pushy about making the LPA any more complicated at this stage.
Great service.
We needed our conveyancing to be done in a bit of a hurry and Reena and Amy at Porter Dodson's Bridport office did everything in their power to make it happen. The most refreshing thing was the excellent communication. When they said that they would take a particular action and phone us back that day that was exactly what happened. We have no hesitation in recommending their services.
Selling a leasehold flat covered by the Building Securities Act was never going to be an easy task! Caron Abbott and her team in Sherborne managed the whole long and drawn out process with great skill and calm tenacity, overcoming all manner of difficulties and unhelpful third parties.
This sale was testing for everyone and I am very grateful to Caron for seeing it through to conclusion.
Porter Dodson are to be congratulated and I shall certainly be using them for all future legal requirements.
