How can they deny they doubled prices…

How can they deny they doubled prices when, after their 'sale', the sale prices are now EXACTLY the same as the standard price? Liars and fraudsters. Hopefully Trading Standard's have taken note, and will fine them again.

Absolutely horrendous store

Absolutely horrendous store in Newtown. Staff are terrible. I tried to return a product and the child I can only assume to be the manager as aggressive and completely ignorant. What an absolute nightmare. He had no clue what he was talking about and treated me like I didn’t exist. He looked right through me. While his crony staff just watched and smirked. Seriously needs the sack!!!!! I’ve never met a more cold person in my life!!! No compassion whatsoever

They must think the public are all stupid

Not only did they hike up the prices in order to con us into thinking we were getting a 50% discount the discounted prices were more than in many other stores. Thank goodness I only bought a few items, will never shop there again.

The staff at poundstretcher didn't know…

The staff at poundstretcher didn't know if they stocked washing capsules for clothing, I had to ask and then find it myself, found Surf.Purchased lamp ( cream) as the lighting wasn't working at the council flats/ rooms on Church Road, they( Theori) wouldn't fix a light bulb straight away, they delayed for days. The lamp kept making the light bulbs not work, and I had to keep replacing the fuse?Lamp not 'purchaseable'.

50 % off when u spend five pounfs

Visited poundstretcher to find high inflated prices already on shelf the whole spend a fiver and get all ur basket for 50,% off is a con i spent a fiver and my basket contained 8.90 . If it says on all the hype on the boards outside its 50% off when u spend 5 pounds then half of 5 is 2.50 the ad is misleading and the sales assistant was miserable aswell saying all prices were already half price. I went next door after my shop in poundstretcher and found the exact products alot chraper . Poundstretcher is a con avoid it unless u want to pay for over priced products. I wont be goin back.

Terrible way to treat customers

Terrible way to treat customers. I shop there regularly but now they are having a 50% discount sale but the prices on the shelves are the price you pay and you do not realise this con until you have checked out. Will not be going back and more customers will be lost.

Deceiving 50% sale

This store is confusing and deceiving the customer .
It's says on window of our store ...spend over £5 .00 and receive 50% off Ur total basket .
It's stupid way cos the goods on shelf are already reduced to 50 % they deduct it from the till and yet I had no idea the price stickers already been marked at 50 % but not until you get to till .funny way of having a sale
And one of the items I bought was damaged when I opened it up prices were broken.

Poor pricing policy

Have noticed prices have virtually doubled and then they offer 50% off £5. On most items you can get cheaper from other bargain stores if you shop carefully enough and items are in stock.

Rip off no 50% off

Rip off no 50% off. Only went in as advertising stated 50% off your basket at check out. But prices on the shelves are already at the 50% off price but no where did it tell me this. Got to the till and as the total seemed much higher than I had expected I asked if the 50% had been taken off - I was told yes and as there was such a big queue behind me I paid and left. Got home and checked receipt to see all the prices were 50% higher the discounted by 50% - what a rip off. Th e real prices are much the same as other discount retailers - not a bargain.

I went into pound stretcher and bought…

I went into pound stretcher and bought for example Cadbury's drinking chocolate value £3. One of several purchased.
At the checkout Cadbury's drinking chocolate was £5.99. All the other prices were doubled and the 50% discount was then added which then went back to the original purchase price. A bit of a con.

My wife and I have shopped at Pound…

My wife and I have shopped at Pound Stretcher in Gosport for many years. On a recent trip we noticed they were offering 50% discount on all items after a £5 spend.
We often purchase dehumidifiers that cost approximately 70 pence each. They had packs of six shown as £5. Thinking this was the full price we picked up four packs of dehumidifiers and two jars of Nescafe coffee listed as £4.50.
After deductions I was expecting to pay £14.50 but the till showed £29. I informed the young girl, serving, she had made a mistake but she insisted it was the correct amount and that the deductions were on the prices shown. The argument got heated and the manager came over and also concurred the prices were correct. I informed him Nescafe coffee does not cost £9 anywhere and that dehumidifiers had never been £10 for six. He informed us he had no control over the prices.
We purchased two of the packs of dehumidifiers for £10 which was about the normal cost and left with no intention of shopping there again.
This is just a blatant scam with prices artificially inflated so they may offer this fraudulent promotion.
