Scammers! They have now changed their name to UK Service Plan and are requesting upfront payment for a new 3-year appliance-insurance policy when the old one was supposed to be valid until 2023.

Avoid this company it is a scam
I have the same experience as many others on here this company is a scam. I received a call where they claimed to be offering domestic appliance insurance the price was reasonable and they claimed to be the same company I already have an existing policy with, even saying that they would cancel my existing Direct Debit. The story started to fall apart when they could not give details of my existing policy number, gave me a number listed as ‘Dangerous’ for their customer service team and told me that my credit card company would call for approval. I can only assume that the credit card companies are alive to the fact that this may not be legitimate.
I consider myself as reasonably savvy when it comes to these scams and fortunately they got nothing from me but they were very believable at the outset and it seems that they are prepared to say anything necessary to get some money.
Scammers trying to con the vulnerable…
Scammers trying to con the vulnerable elderly out of alot of money.
THEY DON'T EVEN DESERVE ONE STAR!!!!!
This Company called my elderly mother in law 2 monhs ago about renewing an existing Policy to cover her washing machine. They were very persuasive and persistant. She gave her card details and £195 was taken from her bank account. There was no existing policy and this is cover she does not need so we emailed straight away to cancel the Policy and asked them to provide evidence of the existing Policy. They then contacted my mother in law again to discuss it but she told them her son was dealing with it but it was to be cancelled. When we phoned them following no refund they said that she had told them she did want the policy which is not what she said. We then sent further emails threatening Legal action (we have a Solicitor in the family) and had a call from them mid August to say the refund was being processed. No refund appeared and we sent further emails saying that as there was no existing Policy this is in fact fraud and Legal action would be taken. On Monday 21st Sept I spoke to the man who had said the refund was processed previously asking why there was no refund and was told it was refunded to the Bank Account the previous evening. I highlighted the fact that there was no existing Policy therefore its Fraud and made it clear that Legal proceedings would commence. To our amazement the refund went into the Bank the following day. We were lucky and got our money back but we did cancel the Policy within the cooing off period so legally they dont have a leg to stand on. Remember there is a cooling off period and be persistant!! Best advice - avoid this company like the plague!!
I would give this company 0 if I could
I would give this company 0 if I could, they phoned my nanan to sell her appliance insurance for 3 years and took her money. When our washing machine broke on August bank holiday we rang up to report it on 1st September. We were told it would take 3-5 working days for an engineer to be in touch with us and arrange a visit, the following week Tuesday 8th September (5 days) we were told an engineer would ring that evening or the Wednesday morning, we never received this phone call. When we rang up on Thursday 10th September to see when we should expect an engineers call we were told they only had that we reported the breakdown on Tuesday 8th which of course was a lie, this started to ring alarm bells to us. Again we were told 3-5 days which was unacceptable customer service, on the Friday 11th I sent an email complaining about the level of service we have received this email has never be replied to, I also rang up to complain and ask when we should receive a phone call to which they replied Monday/Tuesday next week. The following week Tuesday 15th no phone call again (10 working days) I rang up again to complain and ask when we should expect an engineer, again I was told a couple of days to which I stated that this was a complete scam and rip off and that we were reporting them to offcom and wanted a refund. They didn’t really know how to manage a conversation like this and couldn’t offer any solutions other than the words sorry and that they would try hurry the case along, however by this point and several conversations later we were just going round in circles. Later that evening we looked at reviews for the company and saw that many other people have had the same bad experience as us and that they are scamming elderly people out of their money and not providing the service they are selling. We are currently trying to get a refund from the bank and in the process of complaining to offcom.
Scum
These crooks took £495 off my 83 year old Mum via a dd she did not set up, on 14/8/20. I referred this all to the bank as fraud and they agreed re. fraud and gave her her money back.
This bunch of jokers then phoned her on 21/9 demanding another £295 and wanted to know why their DD had been refused. Luckily, my Mum hung up on them.
Steer clear of these people and look out for them taking advantage of your old/vulnerable friends and family.
Very bad company.
Very bad company.
Look up "try to stop fraud" on FB
This my attempt to build a case.
Premier Protect 365 / Home Protect 365…
Premier Protect 365 / Home Protect 365 and quite possible a third company (all linked) are allegedly committing fraud on a large scale. I have started to investigate them. I have set up an email account in an attempt to gather more information. I can let you have this email address but I can understand how difficult things can be.
Scum. Targeting old and vulnerable.
13 months ago these guys took money £179 off my 82 year old father. Smelling a rat that was targeting the elderly I spoke with my fathers bank who refunded the money and changed all his debit cards.
A year on with no contract signed, deal made over the phone or any communication from the company another £199 was taken from his bank account. Unsure how they were able to do this.
Today they phoned the house asking for another £196 off him.
These guys should be arrested, they are the absolute scum of the earth targeting the vulnerable.
Scam avoid !
Scam avoid !! It's as simple as that they try to confuse old people / tell them untruths said they had spoken to me and that I said it was a good idea to take to take it out lies and more lies
Be aware; These people are toxic plausible Liars
These people are toxic. They claimed to be Domestic and General who we have white good insurance with and offered us a cheaper deal if we paid for a year upfront. They are cheat, scammers and liars. We have had to cancel our MasterCard and have rung Domestic and General. Be careful they are an Indian call centre and will take your money and provide no insurance cover
Scam insurance "renewals"
These people use Indian scam call centres to gather your information, then call you back, quite possibly from the UK.
It's a scam! I have a fake identity that I've only ever given to unsolicited phone call scammers, and that's the identity they keep phoning me about. Sadly for them the debit card I "have" has plausible numbers but doesn't work. Hopefully that will help the bank to find them.
They are selling "renewals" for non-existent white good insurance.
Do not touch them with a barge pole!
These people are utter scammers.
These people are utter scammers. They have made my elderly Dad’s life a misery for the last three months. Calling most days, making threats that they will take him to court if he does not give his bank details. My concern is that they have some correct information about him.
Luckily today I was there to take the call, the man on the phone did not like it and kept demanding to talk to Dad. I refused told him that there is no policy with them and no renewal was required. He even gave me a policy number as if that was going to get me to give more details.
Don’t know what we can do to stop these kind of calls. They are scammers and the lowest of the low.
All very plausible …
I took a call today saying as I hadn’t made a claim on my washing machine insurance last year, I was entitled to a discount. I told them I didn’t have an insurance policy for it. They asked me how old it was and I told them it was 5 years old. They said it was under warranty for 5 years and they were automatically calling me to cover it. It was all very plausible so I told them the way insurance works is that you receive a proposal in advance of the start date. They asked for my email address, but needless to say, I haven’t received anything. I can see how people may be taken in by such a call.
FRAUD!
FRAUD!! Claiming to be selling insurance on a washing machine. My poor mother was completely taken in by the lovely gentlemen called michael who was very well spoken and said she could take 1 year for £80 or a 3 year deal. She went for 1 year and wasn't until after this she realised she had been scammed. This was afew months ago. I have now received two more calls from them today and explained that they have been reported for fraud and to stop cold calling us as this is not only ILLEGAL but it is also now HARASSMENT.
ARE THEY CROOKS?
They called to say the insurance on my washing machine had run out. I asked the name of the company and I had never heard of it. I said I did not wish to continue the insurance and they said they would send a cancelation letter. I've been getting a lot of fishy calls lately, the previous one this morning was loft insulation just 5 mins before. Are they all working together?
THIEVES AND CRIMINALS. ALL OF THEIR TEAM MUST BE UTTER SCUM.
My father died in May. They had repeatedly scammed him despite being told not to call again. They are still calling asking to speak to him. If I answer in a weak voice they try to scam me more thinking it's him. If I answer normally they hang up immediately.
They are scammers
They are scammers. Just rang me and said my washing machine etc insurance is due. £375! Said I last paid in 2018. Never heard of them and certainly did not insure any goods with them. I said to the caller he should get a proper job and not to try and scam vulnerable people. He replied he drives a Porcha so he'll carry on. He put the phone down. Unfortunately, some people do fall for it. Never part with money to cold callers.
Unprincipled charlatans
Don't touch these people with a barge pole. Earlier this year they called my aunt, who was in the early stages of dementia, and managed to get her to give them her debit card details. They subsequently debited two payments from her account- around a month apart - totalling over £600. Since then she has received a new card from her bank and this last week they phoned again to ask her to give them the 3-digit number on the back of the card without which they can't take any more payments. Obviously they were planning to take more money from her.
It seems that they somehow have got her details from D&G insurance with whom she has a genuine policy.
Stay clear of these evil shysters.
Be very aware!
Had a call today claiming to be Domestic & General. They knew the length of time i had been with them and offered a discounted price for renewal. Even had bank card details and said that their payment office would ring to confirm this -I smelt a rat before they rang and when they did I said that the policy was not due for renewal and was told I had no policy with D & G. I terminated the call, which was followed up with another call telling me everything was alright. I told them to cancel anything as i did not trust them and informed my bank and promptly cancelled my debit card. It looks as though D & G's system may have been hacked as the information provided led me to believe, at first, it was a genuine call.
