Avoid at all costs

Avoid at all costs! Total scam. This company will charge you monthly and sent you repeat products even if you don’t want them. You then have to pay their postage cost and the cost of a return. The product is cheap and nasty too - very harsh on skin. We binned it. Overpriced conmen! DO NOT USE!

I ordered a one of order from them a…

I ordered a one of order from them a month ago for my daughter, this morning realised they had taken £29.94 out of my bank account. I rang them and was very rudely told I’d entered into a contract with them and there is another parcel on its way and if I wanted a refund I had to return the parcel back all at a cost to me of course, her attitude was absolutely disgusting. Anyway contacted my bank who were great, they’ve stopped any future payments that may be requested from proactive and emailed me a form to complete and submit as soon as the payment today has gone and not pending. I will get it all back within a couple of days. Natwest also told me when the parcel arrives do not return it as will be a cost to me just ring proactive and tell them they have to arrange a courier to collect it. This company surely can’t get away with this much longer it’s an absolute disgrace. I also looked back at confirmation email from previous order and there is absolutely no indication I had entered into a contract or future payments were required. It must have been just mentioned in the small print as the question was not asked so this is how they are getting away it. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY

Absolute conmen

Absolute conmen. They trick you into a varying-price subscription model, send you product every month unless you phone them between specific hours every day to cancel, their online chat doesn't work, they ignore complain requests, they're rude, inept and hound you for money that you shouldn't have to pay for product you don't want. Honestly I'm amazed they're still allowed to trade. They should be shut down!

Same as all the other people on here

Same as all the other people on here, saw these reviews too late and got conned in the same rip off way by believing I was buying a one off kit and certainly not a subscription to tri-monthly membership and unauthorised card payments being taken!
Worse still, I was buying it as a one off present for someone else and aparantly they sent all the invoices in the boxes that were sent to a separate delivery address... Leading to a few months going by before I even realised money was being taken or future payments were even planned!
I received the same generic response to my 5th email as others here so it's obviously a standard ploy which the financial ombudsman has been doing nothing to prevent since hundreds (probably 1000's) of people continue to flag this company!... Maybe the conservative Financial Ombardsman or whoever is supposed to stop this kind of thing are actually Proactiv shareholders or something?!

Bit of a Scam..

Purchased one month, automatically set up my account for renewal without making it clear. I have called to cancel TWICE but they are still charging me £25 a month and not even sending their products (which by the way didn't work for me, I went to see my GP and got provided with a much better solution.)

always read the small print...

My daughter wanted to try Proactiv.
I purchased the product on the web...believing it was a one time purchase. Oh no! always read the small print, See below

Dear Raj,

Thank you for your e-mail.

I have looked into your account and can see that you placed your initial order on-line. When placing your order online and accepting the terms and conditions of the order, you have agreed that you have read and understood them.

It advises on the website on a number of different pages prior to ordering, that you would be joining the VIP plan, that regular shipments will be dispatched and a 90 day supply would be sent, and charged to you over three monthly payments. It also advises that you can cancel or delay this membership at any time. The invoice from your shipments also has the next dispatch date, for your information, too.

I do apologise if you have missed this.

Your Proactiv Plan has been cancelled on your account. We will not be sending out any further product deliveries on this plan.

I can confirm your account balance is £0.00. We will not be debiting any further funds from your account.

Kind Regards,

Toni,

When you wish you could 0 Star it.
Absolutly shocking this company is a SCAM! Never in my life have i dealt with something like this. The reviews on their website are all 5 star LOL (they are fake made by the website builder)
Ordered a months worth, come later than it shouldve done, but anyway, the products are ok, they stink awful, probably better results with clearsil! But this isnt the worst part. Once you order from this company and put your card details in they will then, keep sending their products and charging you ridiculous prices more than orginally paid.
Best bets to do is cancel your card and contact the bank!!!
And the customer service people on the other end of the phone, are just as bad as the company. They must take alot of abuse probably why they are no help. Honestly am so shocked and feel so let down. Would not recommend Pro Active.

So bad

The products don't work. I purchased some stuff in a last ditch attempt to clear up my skin before getting married but unfortunately I only looked at trustpilot AFTER purchase! Still I gave it a go, I bought a 30 day supply and used the products for an entire month.

It didn't help, even for ordinary clogged pores on my nose the scrub did nothing. For my bad deep red spots, the little beads in the scrub just got stuck in them and were a nightmare to get out. The cream didn't appear to help much and the moisturiser smelt horrid, which is quite significant if you're going to smell like these products most of your day (and bed time).
My skin has been much better since I stopped using their products (obviously my Asda tee tree foaming facewash is no miracle cure for acne, but my skin is a lot less sensitive and cleaner now it's not being covered in acid all the time)

The biggest kicker was that I was dumb enough to believe that the 30 day supply would mean I only receive a 30 day supply and wouldn't receive further deliveries - well that was wrong. When my month was up, they sent me a 90 day supply (why?) And an invoice for almost £80.

I have to put one star, but if I could allocate the star it would be to the customer service assistant who happily helped me return the product and cancel future deliveries. Those guys are probably sick of the rubbish and abuse this company makes them go through over the phone with customers, but we're still helpful and friendly to me.

Proactiv is actually rubbish

Proactiv is actually rubbish. Please don’t waste your money on this. Buy the ordinary products of stuff like that. Proactiv seemed to be working for me for the first week or two. After, I broke up in places where I hadn’t had pimples in a year. New pimples keep popping up. My skin is definitely not purging as I did use it for 2 weeks without getting any pimples.

AVOID buying these products on line

AVOID buying these products on line - buy one product and they continue to take money out of your account nad when phone customer services they are rude and aggressive and say it was your fault for taking up membership even when you have declined that choice.

My daughter has Had £177.58 taken out of her account for one product ordered 6 months ago, they have no shame . It is taking hours sorting this with the bank and customer services . ‘Jaz ‘ the customer services operator was rude and aggressive when she realised we weren’t going to be fobbed off. Suggest if you are in this position record all your phone calls to them and get everything in writing if they actually do it

DO NUT BUY FROM THEM!!!

I ordered my proactive bottles a month ago and they "promised" money back guarantee if it doesn't clean your skin. Okay, I used them for a month and my face is full of spots. Spots, spots everywhere they start to appear. I called them up complaining about their product off course, I never had this many spots on my face in my life. They told me on the phone that I pass 30 days trial and they can't give my money back. Okay, you are supposed to try it for 30 days and see if you like it or not and then order another one or get your money back you are not satisfied. Is not that I was not satisfied but my face is full of spots and they are refusing to give my money back. PEOPLE, it doesn't work! More than this, your skin will start having spots! DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING FROM THEM! Customer service is the worst!

BE VERY WARY - CON ALERT

BE VERY WARY - THIS IS A COMPLETE CON!!
My experience with this company is beyond terrible.
I'm not majorly spotty but have been getting breakouts in my late 30s so thought i would purchase the mini 30 day set to give it ago and if it was any good I would continue to buy.
I received the products and after a couple of weeks continued use I decided they weren't anything special as I noticed no change in my skin whatsoever and could purchase nicer products for much less (I thin the starter pack was about £30 for 30 days worth of each product).
However, a month later I received a big box of products from them and noticed more money had been taken from my account. I went online to view my order and couldn't see anything about any subscription. I tried to contact the company in various ways but refused to call them as I suffer from anxiety and get easily stressed on the phone. It was like I'd hit a brick wall.
I decided to go back through the process of purchasing again to see if I'd missed anything about a subscription and it was there on the very last page, I think from memory it was AFTER asking for payment details. Now, I'm not a stupid person by any stretch and have never been caught out before so was fuming to see the small writing - just looked like the usual blurb you get about purchasing an item online - nothing stood out at any point to CLEARLY indicate I was entering into any kind of aubscription.
I then checked my emails and it stated nothing about a subscription.
I tried to contact the company via their online chat but noone was ever available, so I emailed them 2 or 3 times with no response.
I then decided to go on twitter but just got told to contact customer services. Ugh!! So, not knowing what to do with the excess product and not having any response form the company, I threw it out as it was quite honestly a load of rubbish. I cancelled my bank card so they couldn't take further payments and left it there figuring I'd done more than enough to try and sort this out.
Since then I started to received emails from them saying I owed them money for product. I replied to the same email hoping I would get a response but again got nothing. So I left it. They really were getting to me.
Eventually after about 3 weeks they replied telling me to return the product and that they had cancelled the subscription. I put in a complaint about all of the above and it was completely ignored. I explained that as I'd had no response to numerous messages and had eventually got rid of the product and wanted them to explain why the automatic subscription wasn't clearer on their website and why it didn't show on my email confirmation or the order that I originally placed. Again, I got no response. I got another email chasing me for money. Not nice as someone who suffers chronic illnesses and is classed as disabled who gets pain flare ups with any stress! They didn't reply. What a suprise.
I've since gone on their website and noticed that it's completely changed.
Also, the same thing had happened to my friend (we did not purchase at the same time).
