We order one of the proactiv kits

We order one of the proactiv kits, put it in basket but we didn't see the small print saying that when you order the kit they will keep sending every 30 days another one charging us for that. When we saw the second charge and delivery we called them to cancel further deliveries and charges and they said is ok. After another 30 days we were charged again although with the small print they said we can cancel at any time. In the end we had to call the bank to help us stopping the payments. I would never buy again from them and I'm telling anyone I know not to.

Abject customer services

I have been a long standing customer . I went into the proactive website as my daughter wanted a face mask . I noticed that the 90 day plan was reduced to £49:97 although we were paying £59:97. Contacted their customer service who said they could not see this and was I on their website . I explained I was signed into my account so yes I was . She said she could not see this offer which I found rather strange . She asked me to send a screenshot which I did . The reply was so curt basically said this was for new customers only ( did not state this on website) and that the offer had now ended what a coincidence.No apology for stating it was not their in the first instance as it clearly was otherwise they would not have sent the above reply. I think they thought this would appease me but they were wrong. I have cancelled my contract with this company the customer services is at best shambolic and at worst downright arrogant . Leave them alone they want your money only and do not care one bit about the customer

Avoid, DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING.

This happened approximately 4 years ago.

A saleswoman from Proactiv Cards arrived at our premises.
She was very rude and persistent, we eventually signed to get rid of her. BIG BIG MISTAKE!!!!!!
We then decided that we didn`t want cards and keyfobs.
A phone call was made to Proactiv Cards informing them of our decision, the answer was ---- "you have signed, it is a legally binding contract". We tried to reason with them, to no avail. After a few months of letters asking for payment, we received a county court summons at Coventry County Court. We attended, and put our case to the judge, who basically laughed it out of court, saying, "How can you charge for something you have not delivered to your client" We won the case, and were awarded £50.00 costs, which were never paid. SURPRISE SURPRISE. on the plus side, the chap from Proactiv was running late, and parked on double yellow lines, and got a ticket.

The actual product is good

The actual product is good it took a while for it to start working however it keeps my break outs at bay and now I only get the odd one. However on the downside, the staff on the phone are not all that helpful. I have been provided with wrong information which has always been to do with money being taken out of my account, I have been ignored and my files aren't being kept up to date whenever I speak to someone. I have decided to no longer use pro-active as I do not think that there customer service is that good. I fell it is a shame to stop using the product which is helping my skin, however I do not want to deal with poor customer service and trust information that isn't actually correct.

I mirror what everyone else has said on here. Trying to get my money back automatically taken from the credit card. I cannot log in to the account to cancel, an automated message states they are receiving higher than usual calls due to a technical fault - this is a permanent message it seems. The login details I received via email don't work, I can't re-register as my email address is already registered. Eventually I received the repeat order I did not want which payment had already been taken which has the return label removed so there is no address to return to, so again another long phone call. i'm paying to return the goods I did not want and waiting on a refund so paying interest on my credit card. Avoid

Scam-Avoid

It’s all been said in the reviews below, don’t buy these products or sign up to anything. Had to instruct our credit card company to block any further payment requests from this company and they still continued to send products and demand payment despite the fact they had been notified in writing and by phone that the contract was cancelled.
Found the telephone staff to be rude and quite frankly desperate for sales
You’ve been warned!

As the other reviews state, I received a 90 day order and payment taken out of my bank account (which I hadn't agreed to)
When phoning Proactiv to say there must have been a mistake she said to me that i have signed up to a subscription, I tried to explain that I was not aware of this yet she showed no remorse and sounded like she was reading from a script because clearly this conversation happens every day.
I asked to cancel all memberships that I have with them, called them the next day to confirm this had been done, which a man i spoke to confirmed it had been, all i need to do is return the parcel at my own expense.
PLEASE take the persons name and number when you speak to Proactiv, as my bank has advised me if i need to call them in future to cancel any payments that Proactiv may take from my account, I will need to supply them with the contact details to fill out a fraud claim.
I guess i will just have to wait till next month to see if they try to take any more money out of my account, reading the other reviews it sounds like they will!!

Proactiv Plan Cons

At first we decided to try this product for our daughter but we decided after the 30 day trial we weren't going to carry on using the product as we felt the there were product that were a lot better and cheaper.
We were then hit with a shock of the following month being charged £29.94 which would of been one of three payments for a 90 day supply that we didn't even request.
We contacted customer services at Proactiv and was then told this information we were also told its done automatically after the 30 day trial had finished so PEOPLE BE AWARE!!!!!..
This would have meant we would have paid nearly £80.00 in total for a 90 day supply, we were also told that after all trial you are then charged at the full amount the first amount includes postage.
We have to also wait 10 to 15 days to get our money back and this charge was only discovered when I questioned my bank no email from the supplier, as by the time you recievce the product the money would have left your account, the you have to arrange the return of the product at your cost or pay the full amount. Total con be aware

No issues

TLDR: Support service was great and replied quickly. Return process was smooth. Products did not work for me and could have been larger.

Full review:
I ordered a 30-day complete kit. I had done my research beforehand and knew that it was a subscription service, meaning that I cancelled my recurring order over email as soon as it arrived since I only wanted to test the product and see how it worked for me. The support request was responded to very quickly and answered all of my questions, cancelling my subscription for me.
The products came well packaged in a (very) branded cardboard box filled with packing peanuts. Each one was in its own box within this. Personally, I have a larger face and I doubt that the individual products were not big enough to last 30 days.
After using the products for around 20 days, I found that I was seeing no effect on my acne and so made another support request. Despite what it says on the website, it is possible to get a RAN (returns authorisation number) via email rather than a phone call.
I filled in the return slip and posted the box first class. Within a week I had a full refund of the cost (£23.99). I also received a free charcoal cleansing brush which I really liked and did not have to send this back in order to get the refund.
Overall I had no issues with this company like the ones that others have mentioned, the products just didn't work for me and I kind of question their ingredients after reading them in more detail.
Probably best to be careful with this company.

Please avoid this company

Please help everything the other reviews have said is true. Can anyone give us advise on how to get out of this mess . I have cancelled my card, phoned PROACTIV to cancel but now they are sending reminders that I owe £94.60. I sent the unwanted goods back but they want proof after two months and I don't have anything. It's making my life a misery . I contacted Ombudsmen hoping they will help. Please anyone give me some advise? Please avoid this company.

Had to cancel my card and file an investigation with the bank because they keep charging me almost a year after cancellation. Thieves. Worst customer service I've ever experienced. These guys should be shut down.

Rubbish product and con you into spending more and don’t refund you

The product is terrible it made my skin worse! I waited the 6 weeks that they advise and still absolutely no improvements. They automatically sign you into a contract with little notice on your account and no communication so they then took more money from me and sent me a parcel to an address I could no longer access. I returned all my products and they received them on the 2nd of January (signed for) and I still haven’t got my refund despite chasing and chasing, no one is coming back to me. Absolute scam do not waste your money.

I decided to try this product after seeing the add on tv,I made a one time purchase and to my surprise, the product was not what I expected, I did not do anything to my skin and decided to leave it there and never try it again, but, a month after I was charged directly to my account without any previous notice (I think this is illegal) for another package delivery on the 7thf of Dec, I called their customer care line and after waiting for more than 1/2 an hour . the lady asked me to re-sent back the package and I will be refunded and I did not manage to do this yet but the package is still untouched and for my surprise today I receive an email from them advising that I have an outstanding balance with them of 30 £ and to make contact with them as soon as possible. How is that possible when I did advise your Customer Care department that I'm not happy with your product and that I will never use it again????? I will never recommend your company, you are only chasing to charge people for something that they do not purchase or apply

SCAM you buy one product and you are automatically subscribed to a plan. There is small print on the website difficult to see as its starts with disclaimer that delivery may take up to 3 days. There is no mention mention about this on your online account. This is outrageous!!! Stay away from them

Con subscription service

Proactiv really need to make it more clear that you are signing up to an (extremely expensive) monthly plan! I order a set from them a month ago and today received another delivery from them that I did not order. On opening I was informed that I'd actually signed up to a plan and that they had already taken money from my account. Now I have to send the products back at my own expense. They are horrifically misleading their customers and not informing them appropriately that they are signing up for a monthly plan! No where was I informed. Get it together Proactiv and abide by trading standards!

Con and Breach of DPA

I have made a number of orders for my daughter through 2018 without problem. 24th December apparently I made a order for a 90 day supply. I never give a company permission to hold my card details and I did read the terms of the last order and there is nothing about this mystery order. Indeed I can only assume they are in trouble and its a last ditch attempt to keep afloat. I suspect it will have the opposite effect and I have cancelled all future card payments to them and told my daughter she needs to find a alternative skin product. I have given them 7 days to respond to my email or I will also be reporting to the Information commissioner about DPA breaches.

Phone your banks people

Just to let everyone know who's purchased something from here and been charged again you can phone your bank and submit it as fraud, say you don't recognise the transaction and never purchased anything from there 😂 this is what happened to me but the bank was quick to refund me and I kept the 90days package they sent me, not like I've used it mind due.

Absolute disgusting company to deal with. Rang 3 months in a row to cancel membership as your not even made aware you’re signing up to something in the first place...got told all 3 times it had been cancelled, they continue to take a monthly payment from my account. I’ve had to contact my bank to block them and raise a dispute that way. I’ve asked for confirmation of cancellation in writing all times and never received it, you can actually hear their customer service sniggering on the line. Lindsay if anyone gets her! As for the product absolutely useless made my skin worse! DO NOT USE!

Proactiv is a Terrible company! Avoid

Terrible company, I don’t know how they are allowed to get away with it. I ordered only a ‘basic kit’ for £18.74 on a Black Friday deal. I received it at the end of November as a gift for my teenage son. He’s been using the products daily for just over a month and his skin is the exact same. It hasn’t helped his spots at all!
Anyway, fast forward to 23rd December and I had a delivery from Proactiv which I initially thought was them mistakenly sending me the same order again, only to find they had in fact without my knowledge, signed me up to a further 3 month plan...and had already accessed my bank account without my consent and taken out £24.99 which was the 1st instalment for a total of £75!!!!! I DID NOT ORDER THIS, NOR KNEW ANYTHING ABOUT IT! When I phoned to complain and to get a refund, it took me over 20minutes to get through. I can only imagine it was all the other customers they had probably done the same thing to! Anyway, to get a refund, I had to return the products (that I didn’t want or hadn’t ordered) at my own expense!!!! Also you need to make sure they give you a returns ref number- otherwise they delay your refund even more. I was informed that I would receive my refund within 10 working days after they receive my parcel! Again, like I said I don’t know how they are allowed to get with this! When I asked about having never signed up for this I was actually told ‘you were informed as it’s in the top right drop down menu if you click on about us, it says there it’s a 90 day plan’!!! Absolutely shocking! Surely this isn’t legal! I think my next email is going to have be to trading standards and get them to look into this. Anyway, I posted my item back - recorded delivery of course at a cost to me of nearly £5! I’ve had an email saying it’s been received and I should get my refund within 5 days.
PLEASE AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS. ITS NOT WORTH THE HASSLE AND THE PRODUCTS JUST DONT EVEN WORK!!!!

Avoid at all costs. Hidden Subscription costs

I ordered a trial. Next thing another pack gets delivered by a courier.
I rang up to say I didn't want to subscribe I had no idea it was a subscription and it wasn't working. She convinced me to keep trying it and promised me results. So I did for a further 9 months and my skin ended up absolutely horrific. I cancelled it last week and I'm sending my last pack back for a refund. They've had £100s off me for nothing. Avoid at all costs. Do not waste your money.
