I had to access the internet to obtain the relevant code for the pan instead of just giving a description and I expected the pan to be encased in cardboard like my previous purchases.

We were looking for uncoated cookware and visited one of the stores. The staff was great helping us to choose the right cookware for us. We decided to buy the elit triply range and bought a saucepan and a pan with lid.

I never leave reviews and hate to have to leave this one but no paying customer deserves the condescending treatment I received from one shop assistant who goes by the name Sal/Salwa, a tallish pale skinned woman wearing a hijab who speaks slightly broken English, at the physical Procook store at the London Designer Outlet in Wembley Park.
I bought a three-pan set and the small universal lid they offer (they also had a larger one) and about a week later realized the lid wasn’t fit for purpose when I put it on the small pan I bought (the pan was empty and cold as I hadn’t started cooking with it yet). I bring it back to exchange it for the larger lid (which is also more expensive) but Sal/Salwa kept on inventing reasons to deny my statutory rights to a refund for an unused product that’s unfit for purpose. One reason she used was her claim that I had used the lid. I told her that I had not, that I had just placed it on a cold, clean, empty pan and observed that it wasn’t fit for purpose, but she insisted that it was used. I asked how she could be so sure as the only way to know 100% if the lid was used was to be in my house 24/7 for the week I had it and observe the lid. She still basically called me a liar then said that if the price tag was still on then she would’ve been able to do something for me. The problem then was the fact that not all items in physical Procook stores have price tags on them and my item didn’t (she refused to go see another of the same lid in the store to see if it had a price tag on it). She then told me she couldn’t take back the lid as she’d have to throw it in the bin since she wouldn’t be able to sell it LOL. At that point I felt dumber by the second talking to her so I left. I did come back about a week later and exchanged the lid without any issue with another shop assistant who understood consumer rights laws on refunds.
Guys, please be careful when dealing with Sal/Salwa. She might be nice enough when you buy from her but she’ll turn on you if you legally request a refund. Although I can understand that maybe Procook takes back commission from their sales assistants if items are returned (I know some brands that do that), which would encourage sales assistants to do whatever they can to decline refunds, I fully reject their lying and calling their customers liars. If Procook does not take back commission from returned items, then maybe Sal/Salwa enjoys her perceived authority over customers a bit too much?
