I really liked the activities that we did. I loved the anatomy class, national park safari tour, the souvenir shopping, the dance and yoga classes along with the other lectures and going to OT. It was really interesting going to the hospitals but I didn't really get to see much because it was pretty slow during the days I went to some of the departments. The staff were helpful and made the program more enjoyable. I really liked seeing the elephants by the riverbank at the Rhino lodge, it was a really unique and cool experience. There were some things that I think needed to be clarified on the packing list e.g. gloves for anatomy class, shawl is optional, don't need gardening gloves, some of the things on there are only needed for other programs like the physiotherapy and care which was confusing. The other volunteers there really made the trip. I think having a group of that size was good and I think I was really lucky in that the people who went were really cool and in general very nice.

It was an unforgettable experience for me and my son, well organized. The team in San Cristobal around this project did an amazing job.

The transition from the airport to the hotel was very easy and swift, I was able to navigate out of the airport very easily because of the instructions given to me on the website. The actual work we had to do was also very enjoyable and fun and helped me see things in a different light. Meeting new people was naturally scary at first but being around so many people that share the same Interests and passion as you help me open up and connect with them leaving me with friends I will never forget.

The stuff was always really nice and ready to help. The activities at the school were fun but not that in the morning you’ll be doing a lot of hard work so don’t just choose childcare thinking that you won’t have to do much. The accommodation was fine and the food is really good I only had a problem with the shower, which didn’t work really well, but I was particularly unlucky since the other showers did work just fine. The activity in the evening are also really fun and constructive.

My 16 years old daughter recently completed a 2-week building project in Kathmandu with Projects Abroad, and I’m happy to say she had a truly positive experience.
She felt safe, supported, and well looked after from start to finish. The local staff in Nepal were kind, responsible, and always present, which really helped her feel comfortable, especially being far from home.
The project itself was well designed and thoughtfully executed, giving her a sense of purpose and achievement. She came back with great memories and a deep appreciation for the experience.
A big thank you to the entire team at Projects Abroad for making this opportunity so special. I’ve already recommended the program to a friend in Paris and will continue to do so!

I stayed at Taricaya for two weeks and very happy with this experience due to my interest in geography and the environment - I was given the chance to work in multiple different areas throughout my stay (working with animals, in the rainforest and at the reserve itself in tasks such as woodwork and cleaning). This allowed for a feeling of usefulness and teamwork since no task was done alone and each staff and volunteer had equal amounts of work in order to keep Taricaya functioning to its highest ability!
Of course, not everyone will enjoy every activity they’re assigned, however you will not know this until you try it - while some activities are tiresome and require physical effort, I did not dislike these, as I simply believe each task requires different strengths! However, if there is some task you wish not to do again, there is no problem in simply requesting to be moved to another task! This way, Taricaya is very accommodating to the needs of all volunteers, meaning everyone is kept happy and comfortable for the duration of their stay!
I would definitely recommend Taricaya to those tho enjoy travelling since the scenery here (like sunsets and forests) is like something out of a fairytale! I would also recommend this to anybody who has an interest in the environment or anything similar since you will be working in close contact with flora and fauna, all coming together to provide a truly unforgettable experience!

We joined the women empowerment project in Tanzania and we had an amazing experience immersing ourselves in the local culture. We enjoyed leading the trainings of women groups and interviewing them about their business and personal life. We learned a lot about personal stories of their lives and business ventures in the market. We were a bit nervous before joining the trip but returned with such memorable experiences, new friends and family!! ☺️

Projects abroad is incredible! They think through every scenario and the staff are so professional but kind. My placement at my trip was perfect and I loved my whole experience. 10/10 I would do this again

On weekdays, individual interviews with women who run small business was insightful. I learnt how financial loan offered by Project Abroad works and what kinds of difficulties women have. I also did presentations for women and youth groups. I was a presenter but also learners about business knowledge, so two-way style was so helpful for me to learn micro finances.
On weekends, I joined a safari tour offered by Project Abroad. A tour guide led us to a wonderful tour and we saw a lot of wild animals such as lions, hippos etc. It was also nice opportunity to communicate with other volunteers. I’d appreciate this opportunity

The opportunity to choose which medical department to shadow and learn in enhanced the experience. Staying in clean and comfortable hotels was an added bonus to the overall trip.

As a recently graduated high-school student, I initially booked this trip to gain some experience in the medical field, help the community and travel. However, I had the opportunity to do much more; from assisting in a local hospital, participating in the community outreaches of a less fortunate community and connecting with individuals with whom I didn’t even share a language. Projects abroad made my stay unforgettable, and found me a host family that now feels like my home away from home. I highly recommend an experience such as this one to truly understand how fortunate we are in terms of healthcare, sanitation and living conditions, 100% recommend.

We joined the shark conservation project in Fiji. We were made to feel extremely welcome by the staff running the project and they went above and beyond to make sure that we were able to make the most of our time. The Shark dives were incredible as well as the fish survey dives, maintaining the coral nursery and planting mangroves. We learnt so much and enjoyed every minute of it. Thank you Maik for looking after us so well . We would come back in an instant.

The experience was incredible even the way it was organized. Although I must say that it seemed a little unfair that those not volunteering in medicine did not receive any itinerary for visits and so. We others had to find another way, which is fine, but when you see that other volunteers get this privilege it is frustrating.

Fantastic project with great location support.
Everything about this trip went smoothly. The staff were friendly, application was simple, instructions were clear and the on site support for the project was excellent.
