Received excellent customer service. Manager offered to take me to work and pick me up when I finished while the car tires were being changed. Very impressed.

Good selection of tyres to choose from. Easy to purchase and arrange a slot. Friendly and efficient service. It was a very hot afternoon, but the staff offered customers water. Very considerate.

My appointment was cancelled with no offer of rescheduling

I had a phone call at 12 am Saturday cancelling my appointment for MOT Tuesday 10 am say they have a technical problem and they would send a refund in five days no chance of being rescheduled offered would like to know how many appointments did they really cancel for Monday and Tuesday was it just myself as I had booked online and had it for £34 is it that they really don’t want to do them for that price so they cancel

Would give minus 5 stars if I could

Went in for 2 new tyres on my bike. Waited 3 weeks for an appointment. Came home with damaged brake discs, twisted forks and no front brakes. I have been trying to resolve this with customer services for over a week now, being fobbed off with "the area manager will be in contact", but hear nothing from them. I have had to spend over £500 on PARTS ALONE to repair the damage their store caused and they don't even have the decency to get in contact! It is an absolute disgrace that they find it acceptable to return my bike to me in that state and then refuse to acknowledge their mistake. It could have caused a serious/fatal accident and they are not bothered by it at all!
I will be contacting head office, and if still no satisfactory response, will take legal action for damages caused

Well I'm sure the mechanics are fine, but...

No issue with the mechanics (hence 2 stars not 1) and I must admit my own poor judgement in arranging a service/MOT at a place one hour drive from home (got sucked in by a special offer!) Here's what happened:

Car booked in for 8:30 Monday morning. Several problems found during service. Was quoted roughly £475 (which was fair and accurate) and told there could be other problems discovered during MOT. There was: new washer pump needed, which would have to be ordered.

During that morning some equipment essential for MOTs had stopped working, and a guy in the office (who was reasonable but had a very obvious air of "sorry but if it's anyone's fault, it definitely isn't mine") was calling customers to reschedule.

However I was told by his colleague (who might have been the manager and who I think was a bit under the weather) that the pump should arrive either next day or Wednesday, and all would be sorted then including the re-test - they would give me a call when the pump arrived. I still had to wait around on the Monday afternoon until the £475 work was finished, which was late in the afternoon - but no problem; completely acceptable and didn't mind waiting.

By 3.40pm on Tuesday, no call received, so I called them. Guy on the phone hadn't been in on Monday and knew nothing about my situation. He said he was covering (possibly for the guy who was ill, and definitely for the sorry-but-it-isn't-my-fault guy, as became obvious later).
He checked: yes, washer pump arrived earlier today. Didn't know we were meant to phone you to arrange anything. No, can't do tomorrow (Wednesday). Anyway, we don't have an MOT tester until Thursday at the earliest. Can you come on Thursday at 10.30? That way we can let you know if the MOT tester is not in, before you set off and have a wasted journey...

Arrived Thursday. Sorry-but-it-isn't-my-fault had been off for 2 days and immediately told me I definitely wouldn't be getting an MOT re-test as the tester wouldn't be in. Also I'd have to wait a bit for the washer pump to be fitted as there were cars already in the workshop (so a 10:30 appointment means what exactly?)
After being informed of what I'd been told on the phone, he said he'd see what he could do about getting the tester to come in for the re-test (pob lwc with that, mate!)
I went for a walk into town.

When I was nearly back, I missed a call (at 12:11) from Sorry-but-it-isn't-my-fault. I walked the remaining 5 minutes or so and when he appeared he told me that he'd tried calling me this morning (not sure whether that was intended to give the impression that it had been a long time before, rather than 10 minutes earlier and actually in the afternoon!)
The reason: they'd ordered the wrong washer pump.

How had they managed that? I asked.
Well (I was told) there are 2 kinds and since I had taken the car home, they didn't know which kind they needed, so they took a guess and got the wrong one.
But surely, I asked, you would have looked at the point just before you ordered the washer pump? You know, on Monday, while my car and I were here the whole day? You know, the washer pump you ordered but weren't sure would arrive on Tuesday so it might have to be Wednesday... that washer pump?
"It's just one of those," he said.
I asked whether that was something he often had to say to customers - it's just one of those, we've ordered the wrong part, go home and come back another day when the right one has arrived (if we remember to call you).

Finally, he offered me an appointment for the following day. But by now I'd learned to cut my losses.

EDIT: Re Eddie's message (25th Feb): the local manager must be doing a REALLY thorough investigation... 18 days on since you wrote that, and still no contact from the local manager! I notice this message from you appears on lots of dissatisfied reviews. I wonder whether any of the managers ever make contact!

First impressions were good

First impressions were good , however I soon changed my opinion.
Staff were very welcoming. My car was driven by the MOT tester to a nearby garage. As it was dark when I left, the state of the car was not noticed till the following day.
My car interior was filthy, the dirty steering wheel had marked my clothes and the seat & door interior were dirty.
