Front wheel alignment - which escalated!
Took the car for a wheel alignment following replacement of front lower suspension arms for an MOT. Protyre technician advised that an outer CV boot was split and a track rod end cover was split - my suspicion is at least one of those happened during the MOT repair 13 days earlier.
I agreed the Protyre repair quote and the work was done the same day. Using the car after collection I could see the steering wheel wasn't centered and the car tracked slightly left.
I returned to Protyre to have the alignment checked and a technician said he couldn't correct the issue as the track rod was seized and it had a split in the cover. After some investigation (fortunately Protyre take photos of vehicle faults identified) it was established that the track rod end they originally identified as needing replacement and which I paid for wasn't replaced - instead another part had been changed.
The Manager (Drew) arranged for the track rod to be replaced with no further labour charges (I also asked for the opposite track rod end to be done and very fairly didn't charge labour for that either).
Whilst it took 3 visits to get the tracking done in the end, I feel the mistake was dealt with quickly and fairly - thank you.
