I arrived without an appointment or a prior phone call and was dealt with very quickly. The minor repair was done straight away for a very reasonable cost.

Had tyres fitted yesterday, vehicle was fine when it went in. Came in really pulling off to the left, really badly. Called for support/ help. Vehicle has had the same alloys since registration 3 years ago. Never any issues, protyre basically said not their issue and it was an issue with the alloys. Seriously poor service, would not recommend and really disappointed to spend so much money on new tyres and recieve such poor aftercare / service.

I am writing to raise a concern regarding my recent visit to your Okehampton branch on Friday 6 March at 3:30 PM.
On Thursday, my front left tyre was punctured after driving through a pothole. I fitted my spare tyre and then called the Protyre branch in Okehampton, as they have supplied and fitted tyres for me over the past few years. I explained the situation and asked if they could supply the same tyres that had been installed in December 2024. The member of staff I spoke to was very helpful and told me he would order two Pirelli Cinturato All Season SF3 225/55R18 102V XL tyres and booked me in for the following afternoon.
When I arrived for my appointment, the technician informed me that the tyre on the opposite side only had around 4mm of tread remaining and advised that both front tyres should be replaced. As he is the professional, I accepted his advice. I was then told the total price would be £392, but that he could reduce this to £350. I did mention that the tyres had been significantly cheaper when I purchased them previously, but accepted the explanation at the time.
While the tyres were being fitted, I checked the prices on the Protyre website and was surprised to see the same tyres advertised at £150.04 each, fitted and including VAT. When I raised this with the staff member after the work was completed, he explained that the lower price was because online orders are “automatic” and that they do not have to answer the phone or manually order the tyres. I found this explanation somewhat unconvincing.
After some discussion, he said he did not want to get “shouted at by his boss” and offered to “meet in the middle” at £325. Although the staff member was friendly and polite throughout, the situation left me feeling quite uncomfortable. The fact that the price could move from £392 to £350 and then to £325 simply after questioning it does not inspire confidence in the pricing structure.
My family and I have used the Okehampton branch for several years, and until now I have always been happy with the service. However, experiences like this make it difficult to feel confident that customers are being charged fairly and consistently.
I would appreciate it if you could clarify your pricing policy and explain why there was such a significant difference between the price quoted in person and the price advertised online.
