Dissapointed this time.
I have usually had nothing but positive experiences with the service at Protyre, so I was particularly disappointed with my latest visit.
I booked my car in for the Platinum Service, costing over £400, along with its MOT.
The car initially failed the MOT because one headlight beam was too high.
The adjustment took less than two minutes, yet I was charged an additional £24 before the car was then passed.
Given the cost of the Platinum Service, I feel this minor adjustment should reasonably have been included rather than charged as an additional expense, and also rectified without the registered fail as it was such a simple quick fix.
I also question the MOT advisory regarding a windscreen defect that does not adversely affect the driver’s view.
This is the mark left by a professional chip repair carried out some time before the MOT, It is outside the driver’s field of vision and cannot be repaired again, so I feel recording it as an advisory was unnecessary.
Overall, I am disappointed that such minor issues resulted in an additional charge and an MOT failure/advisory, particularly given the level of service I had paid for.
