On a negative point the call waiting music was awful and not pleasant to be forced to listen to.

Wanted to make a small change and enquire about business use on my vehicle. The lady who answered, Saymira, was polite and very helpful.
Great customer service gave me exactly what I wanted can't ask for more, thanks Saymira.

Sadly I have to revise my 5 star review down to 1 star. When its convenient for them Provident employees will be polite and friendly, and then ask you to leave a specific review for them on Trustpilot. When you telephone to query a 3rd party claim made 5 months after an incident, which was paid without consulting their customer (even though we had reported no damage to the 3rd party vehicle), they will not answer your reasonable questions. In fact their policy is to 'go quiet' when they hear a question they do not want to answer - they just stop talking to you, forcing you to hang up. I know this is a policy because two different employees did this to me within an hour. Obviously it takes a long time to call back because they keep you on hold for ages. We had a letter from them stating a NCB of 13 years - they said the claim would reduce that by 2 years - leaving a NCB of 3 years. I queried the mathematics of this, and was met with silence, forcing me to hang up again. This is utterly appalling behaviour and I will be contacting the insurance ombudsman. I won't ever use Provident (or parent company Covea Insurance) again.

Very poor care for me as a customer, I was hit from behind at a red light by a uninsured driver. From the moment I’ve rang to report the claim all I’ve had was stalling tactics and reasons not to pay out to get my car fixed causing me issues to travel to see my family. After looking to find points that are no longer on my licence dating back to 2017 they’ve used this a excuse to cut my pay out by 50% leaving me after paying my excess having to pay £1500 of the £2200 worth of damage for a accident that was never going to be my fault.

I was with Provident for 2 years, and each year my renewal was cheaper than the one before without needing any input from me, and everything else that I needed to do regarding my account was able to be completed online.

I am only leaving them as I have gotten rid of my car and I spoke to Dave on the phone regarding the cancellation and everything went smoothly, even managing to arrange for my refund to be sent elsewhere due to the original payment card being cancelled. Customer service on this occasion was amazing. Thanks very much
