Easy initial forms to fill in and shorter wait times to be assessed. I had an appointment with Dr Khalid, who was wonderful and made me feel at ease. Wait for medication has been over 3 months now... See more

The whole team in my experience were super kind and understanding of difference. Going through an ASD assessment can be a little draining at the best of times, but everyone that I spoke to was very friendly and patient.
The booking system can be a little stressful given that you can only book appointments by phone and during office hours. However, everyone that I spoke to throughout was very helpful.

1st reason: gender of our child was wrong
2nd reason: names spelled wrong
3rd reason: factual mistakes written in report
4th reason: due to gender child we feel our child has not got an accurate diagnosis although ticking all other boxes except gender! We feel discrimination in this area!
5th reason: due to an admin error on other party’s behalf, not being able to get a diagnosis
We feel that Psicon did not give us fair treatment from the start and whether or not the outcome is accurate, we feel let down!

I had a very positive experience with Psicon during my son’s assessment. The assessor was extremely professional, understanding, and genuinely caring throughout the entire process. They made both my son and myself feel comfortable and listened to, taking the time to explain everything clearly and answer any questions we had.
Their calm and supportive approach helped put my son at ease, which made a big difference. It was clear that they truly cared about providing the best support possible and ensuring we felt reassured every step of the way. I’m very grateful for the kindness, patience, and professionalism shown to us, and I would highly recommend Psicon to other families going through a similar process.

From the referral being made to receiving a diagnosis, this took a total of 6 weeks. The team and communication throughout was excellent. The Psychiatrist undergoing the assessment was very thorough and made me feel heard and understood. Overall, I am very pleased with this service and would recommend to family and friends.

Psicon can not be recommended by me enough. I have been lucky enough to use their services twice now and each time they have gone above and beyond to help my daughter. They have ensured she felt safe, adapted the assessments so that she could take part in them (& they didn’t have to be cancelled) and gave her lots of praise - something she really needed at such stressful times. The Clinicians are incredibly professional, patient, kind and caring. They really listen and genuinely want to help. The whole experience was a refreshing change and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.

Wonderful experience all round.
Helpful, reassuring and informative throughout the whole process.
Waiting to get through to someone on the phone can take a while, although when the staff are this through and professional you can understand why the waiting times are a little longer.
Very happy overall

Two assessment sessions were scheduled earlier than expected. Good autism report, though I had to truncate it for my workplace because it contained personal details.

Absolutely brilliant service and so supportive, friendly, efficient and understanding in this crazy world of neurodiverse brains such as mine and my sons. Psicon are leading the way in my view where everyone else has let us down they showed up and gave us a big hug. Can't thank them enough for all their help and support. My son is 14 so your services have helped shape his last few years at secondary school for the better.

Psicon and our clinician Kieran have been amazing. Honestly the whole process has been life changing for my 13 year old son. Through out the whole RTC process everything has been explained and the communication has been great.

Passion has been a pleasure to deal with, the stay in regular contact and I find them very helpful.
With the help of Psicon they have cut the waiting time to less than half than if we were using another service.

Mixed reviews really, I was referred over to Psicon from onebright. They booked me in for an assessment after me completing many questionnaires. The psychiatrist wasn’t friendly at all, I ever got frustrated with her because she was asking questions i didn’t understand so I asked her to try rephrase them because that helps. She didn’t seem to bothered with anything said and didn’t acknowledge or explore any further in respect to my responses. The most concerning and worrying thing was I had explained I had PTSD and they kept probing for details about past trauma without showing any concerns for the impact it was having on me. I was literally getting flashbacks and I was actually starting to become mentally unwell, not once did the psychiatrist stop ask me if I was ok or even offer to help refocus me. Anyways I managed to get through it and got my combined ADHD diagnosis. I then called up a day later to enquire about meds because my GP refused to issue any without a shared care agreement. NOTE!!! This is important information? Psicon told me that going private they can’t do shared care agreement. I would have to pay £200 for the initial consultation where meds would be discussed, they would the charge me another £799 for 12 months for tritation and and consultations required this includes them writing a prescription also. I would then have to pay for the medication myself at the pharmacy at around £80-250 depending on type and pharmacy. After 12 months I would go pay as you go at around £50 per month plus medication costs. Now this isn’t mentioned at any point before the assessment is done and there’s also nothing on their website either. I now feel I’ve wasted my time although I have a diagnosis I can’t actually get any medical help. I have had to contact my GP and ask them to write a referral directly to Psicon under the NHS right to choose, which means I have to wait at least 9-12 months due to waiting lists before I’m seen. At which point my GP can then start issuing me medication with i need. So if you’re going down the probate route be very wary it may be quicker going via your own GP. I’m a bit worried about my Autism assessment which I’m due to have I’m not sure if they will be doing it also. They have minimal coms and the chap I spoke to about meds wasn’t very helpful either. Such a shame.

If you are an adult seeking an ASD assessment, do NOT use this service. If you are a parent looking for support for your child, I would recommend not using this service.
Psicon, despite working with neurodivergent individuals, appears to lack a fundamental understanding of how neurodivergent people think and operate.
I was referred to Psicon for an adult ASD assessment, but my experience left me deeply concerned about the credibility of the service and one of their psychiatrists in particular.
Before the assessment, I completed a series of questionnaires and disclosed a prior ADHD diagnosis. After submitting them, I was informed that I met the criteria for further assessment.
The assessment call itself was uncomfortable and unprofessional. After confirming basic details such as my name and date of birth, I was immediately asked to explain why I believed I might be on the autism spectrum, in what was an unnecessarily confrontational matter, an inappropriate approach when dealing with neurodivergent individuals. I shared several examples of the difficulties I face, including:
1. Social masking: Having friends yet struggling to know how to act around them, often copying their mannerisms and speech to appear “normal.”
2. Sensory sensitivity: Being overly sensitive to noise, light, and textures, sometimes leading to emotional shutdowns.
3. Communication challenges: Forcing eye contact to meet social expectations, which disrupts my ability to follow conversations—an established autistic trait linked to cognitive overload.
The assessor gave minimal attention to each point and failed to explore them further. After every example, they dismissed my concerns as being better explained by ADHD and quickly moved on. It was clear they had already decided that my prior ADHD diagnosis ruled out autism, despite the strong correlation between them.
After only about ten minutes, the assessor concluded that I was not autistic because I had friends and spent the remaining majority of the call discussing my ADHD—and even their own ADHD diagnosis, as if that somehow validated their conclusion. I felt dismissed and mentally shut down but continued the call to avoid seeming rude. Ironically, the only time the assessor acknowledged a possible autistic trait was when I mentioned collecting Pokémon, which felt reductive and even absurd. So for anyone who collects Pokemon or has any other ‘nerdy’ hobbies out there, you might be autistic.
Four weeks later, Psicon responded to my complaint, claiming the assessor had not ruled out autism until all criteria were reviewed. This was untrue and an outright lie. Their “investigation” seemingly amounted to nothing more than my word against their assessors notes.
When asked why Psicon had invited me to the assessment, despite their assessor claiming I did not meet the criteria based on information they collected from my questionnaires, Psicon offered vague, generic response. I am concerned that Psicon invited me to this session simply so that they could charge my insurance for it, even though they knew I couldn’t be diagnosed autistic based on the framework they use (because I have friends, as if autistic people are incapable of this).
Psicon failed in their duty of care. When confronted with these concerns and given a chance to address them, they failed again, trusting 100% the account of their assessors and dismissing mine entirely.
Give yourself the care and respect that Psicon won’t and use an alternative service.
