Easy initial forms to fill in and shorter wait times to be assessed. I had an appointment with Dr Khalid, who was wonderful and made me feel at ease. Wait for medication has been over 3 months now... See more

Calling as an adult, there is a message to say that one might have to wait up to one HOUR!!!!
Thankfully I have never had to wait more than 10 minutes, and I did point this out to one or more of those that I spoke with; and they said that this was more applicable to calls about children. If so, it'd be good/more professional to make sure that this very off-putting message is at least not there for the adults that call.
Re the ADHD assessment, I found that the online questionnaires were unbearably long, repetitive, and containing several seemingly irrelevant questions. Plus the whole thing did not work well mechanically.
Also I think that there was far too much made of the need for someone from one's childhood to participate. As a 61 year old, not such a person exists. And even if, hypothetically they did, what they said would only be what they could remember, and only one person's opinion even if they could!
Then during the assessment itself, firstly I was put-off by the fake background. And secondly I was frustrated by my inability to give full explanations about the important issues. It just felt like yet another set of these dull questions, this time being asked by someone, as opposed to reading them off a screen.
My Answer to your answer...
This is precisely, word for word, the same reply that another review I did about you somewhere else, also received; so, not much thought/individuality given to this response!
And, bearing in mind that it is you as a company that keep asking for these reviews. Enough reviews now!

We recently had an ADHD assessment with Psicon via Teams for my child and I wanted to share how positive the experience was. The clinician was incredibly kind, patient and understanding, which made a big difference as it can be quite an emotional process for a parent.
They took the time to really listen and asked thoughtful questions so they could get a full understanding of my child. At no point did we feel rushed, and everything was explained clearly.
Having the appointment through Teams actually worked really well and made the whole process feel more comfortable being in our own home.
Thank you to the team at Psicon for handling the assessment with such care and professionalism.

Fantastic service, would highly recommend. My teenage son and I went through the process of being assessed using the Right to Choose and I was very impressed with the care ad support we received and continue to receive. The process for ADHD as an adult was really quick from a referral in Dec 2025 - to an assessment and then diagnosis in February 2026.

Do NOT use I’ve had the worst experience with them. They’ve made so many factual errors in my medical reports, they just copy & paste the exact same notes every time , unclear communication- different people tell you different things , review appointments are less than 5 mins if that, the reviewing practitioner didn’t even know what medication dosage I was on. They also lie about how long before you can go on to NHS shared care ( so they can take as much money off you as possible) & how regularly you will be reviewed.
Genuinely such a poor service, the fact they haven’t had a CQC inspection since 2019 speaks volume, the process of filing a complaint is also ludicrous & won’t get you anywhere….

Amazing service, 1st people we came across who cared & went above and beyond to help us. There specialists in there field and it really shows, if only we had come to them earlier rather than waiting on a very under pressured NHS. It’s more than a job or case to them and have been very helpful to our child & to us parents, whom can get forgotten in the process.

I have been impressed and relieved that this process is a quicker route to diagnosis and support for my child. Waiting times are substantially less, and I look forward to my report following the recent assessment and upcoming autism assessment. The Mental health practitioner was kind, understanding and thorough.

We were not sure what to expect from my daughter’s assessment, however, from speaking to the booking team to getting the appointment was so easy, the staff approachable and understanding. Then we had the assessment which was actually a lovely experience. The nurse listened to our concerns, the points we raised and was so informative and understanding that we could not have had a better experience. We thank Psicon for their time and patience helping our family. I would absolutely recommend them for other families.

My whole process so far has been so efficient and reassuring. The paperwork and communication have all been easy so far and I've been able to do it all easily. Been well worth me doing this for peace of mind. All staff have been so helpful and understanding. Such a quick turnaround as well.

We have also received no response to our initial or subsequent complaint, which is itself a matter of concern.
We have already submitted a complaint directly to the provider and have received no adequate response.
Given the nature of the issues involved, we now request external review.
The assessment process raised significant concerns including:
• The assessment being framed at the outset around Government efforts to reduce “overdiagnosis,” creating the impression of bias.
• Dismissal and minimisation of my daughter’s reported difficulties, despite clear functional impairment.
• Inaccurate recording of sensitive information, including incorrectly stating that she had self-harmed.
• Failure to obtain alternative evidence (from individual teachers or other settings) despite confirming this would be done due to masking.
• Concluding that she did not meet criteria solely due to insufficient school evidence, while not sourcing the alternative evidence previously discussed.
• Suggesting she may need to wait until she is older for diagnosis because she is a girl.
• Acknowledging that the clinician had not read the full independent psychological report provided prior to assessment.
• Dismissing extensive reasonable adjustments implemented by school as not constituting evidence of need.
My daughter has an existing neurodivergent diagnosis and an independent health psychologist’s report identifying ADHD as the primary explanation for her presentation. She masks significantly in school and is academically able, which appears to have worked against her in accessing appropriate assessment.
This process has caused considerable distress during her GCSE year and raises broader concerns regarding procedural fairness, gender bias, and complaint handling within the service.

I have recieved treatment from Psicon for over 3 years, and have experienced a severe decline in service in the past 12 months. To start, I have seen a new practitioner at each appointment, despite having consistency until now, and this makes me wonder how on earth patient's needs can truly be understood or worked on with specialists. Alongside this, a recent appointment with a specialist showed me that not all of the Psicon team sympathise with patients, as I felt belittled and anxious to communicate my problems due to the sighs and condescending tone of the person I was supposed to be confiding in. Above this, the varying specialists I have communicated with have given conflicting advice about very important matters. Conflicting information has been given over email, phone, and in appointments about all kinds of things regarding treatment and future action. How can individuals make the correct choice when each piece of *specialist* advice is different. This has caused me immense stress as well as decreasing my trust in those at Psicon, who I expected to have a standard protocol for the matters they are paid to respond to. Furthermore, in the past 6 months there has been around 5 instances of Psicon issuing a prescription that is half the amount I need. This not only results in hours on the phone trying to fix things, but also more work for the Psicon team. I have been told on multiple occasions that this mistake will not happen again, but alas, it does.
Taking ADHD medication has no doubt changed my life for the better, but my recent experiences with Psicon leaves me anxious for the future. I sincerely hope that the handful of negative reviews they receive are taken seriously and cause action to be taken to allow the treatment of this life-changing medication to be issued smoothly to those who need it.

*reply to Psicon's response below: Psicon told us in July 2024 that they had previously initiated shared care for private patients in Sussex (I have this in writing) but then Psicon decided they were no longer allowed to do this. I was able to do my own research (as a parent not a professional) and I confirmed that it IS ALLOWED.
Psicon should have done more research into this matter rather than giving us brick wall responses when we continued to fight this with them for 2 YEARS. As a professional clinic they should have known better. Even our GP said Psicon were acting unethical and sent them a letter (October 2025) stating this but we still got a brick wall response from Psicon, they should have taken the NHS advise rather than dismiss it.
*
Paid Psicon thousands of pounds for private dual assessment and 2 years of private ADHD medication and reviews for our son.
At point of sign up they promised us shared care with our GP would be facilitated following our son being settled on a dose.
When this time came Psicon REFUSED our GP agreed to shared care and Psicon REFUSED! Blaming Sussex ICB restrictions which is factually incorrect.
We have been fighting for 2 years now.
Our MP has obtained a full written response from Sussex ICB and the following should be noted,
"I have asked senior members of the NHS Sussex mental health commissioning and
medicines optimisation teams to meet with a service lead from Psicon. The specialist
service was previously unaware that in Sussex, we have a position that supports
prescribing of medication recommended by a private specialist on the NHS, if the
recommendation aligns to the Sussex Formulary, and the patient’s GP agrees to take on
prescribing.
Psicon has confirmed they will now request Shared Care with the GPs of patients they see
privately, to enable people with ADHD who they have initiated medication for, to potentially
access their treatment on the NHS."
I have sent Psicon the FULL WRITTEN LETTER from Sussex ICB but again RADIO SILENCE. In the meantime my £40 invoice for his prescription writing gets issued to me IMMEDIATELY.
DO NOT PAY PRIVATELY WITH PSICON THEY WILL TRAP YOU TO PAY INDEFINITELY.
