It was a total delight to meet Peter-who is one of those rare decently priced craftspeople you think dont exist anymore but they do. I had spent ages looking for a local leather restorer and couldnt believe PS Leather Craft was just around the corner (for London!). Peter immediately diagnosed the problem from a photo, had a solution there and then, and took great care and pride in his work. He restored my second hand leather Egg Chair to an impeccable high quality finish. I wish I had more leather items that need restoring.

Peter renewed the leather on a very old belt , that belonged to my mum, so really meant a lot to me , all I can say is , I’m absolutely thrilled with it , he even cleaned up the big buckle, it looks amazing, thank you so much would definitely recommend Peter

Peter sympathetically restored my grandfather's wallet and did an amazing job. It was left with him in pieces, had a lot of damage and not helped by previous past attempts to repair. It's an important family heirloom as has a silver dedication to my grandfather 'As a slight token of esteem', from the members of the local church marking the time when the family moved from a small Welsh valley into Cardiff during the Great Depression.

I asked Peter Smith to repair my leather backpack recently. I had had some truly awful repair work done on this lovely Italian made leather rucksack, which meant that the bag had been badly mutilated with poor stiching to the flap on the bag, whilst the original broken lobster clasp had been replaced with an ugly trigger clasp similar to those used on dog leads! In addition both straps needed repairing due to wear and tear.
The quality work from Peter is truly astounding! The bag has been sympathetically restored with a genuine ‘The Bridge’ lobster clasp, the rutched, distorted work to the flap has been unpicked and restitched beautifully, and both straps repaired, reinforced and stitched by hand. The backpack looks truly amazing. I’m so delighted. This work is truly an answer to prayer. This bag was a gift from my late husband and repairing it was important to me, as against purchasing a new bag. There are scam companies out there who will steal your bag under the pretext of repairing it! You will never see your bag again.

I met Peter in December after discussing work needed to repair 2 precious briefcases. We spoke at length on meeting in Wimbledon and I was put at my ease with the obvious depth of knowledge that I was about to engage with.

On 18th January, I picked up one of the briefcases and was astonished as to the quality of the work. I don't think I've ever been so happy to part with my money.

PS Leather Craft assisted the Learning team at the National Army Museum by repairing, cleaning and restoring items of our handling collection to their former glory. Peter was very knowledgeable and informed us about each step of the process. He has also provided useful tips about aftercare and went to the efforts of making a stand for one item for display/storage, which was greatly appreciated. We would definitely recommend his services to those who have antique and/or unique items.

My leather handbag needed new stitches on one of its handles so I brought it to Peter who, not only changed the stitches on both handles but also attached, on the insides of the bag, 4 pieces of leather to strengthen the handles. Very happy with the result, I would ask Peter again for his help in case I needed other jobs done.

Peter was so kind to repair an old pouffe for me which was about 50 years old. He did an amazing job replacing and relining some of the leather including recolouring. Absolutely stunning.

Peter worked on repairing the leatherwork on a mid-century modern chair I own. I would thoroughly recommend both the quality and speed of his workmanship to anyone.

PS Leather Craft has just restored my old leather holdall bag. Peter has done a fantastic job - the old stiff leather is now as soft as a baby's bum and he has managed to retain all the character. I am hugely satisfied.

After searching the web for a couple of weeks we found Peter's web site and asked him if he could make us two dog collars to a certain specification. We now have two beautifully and expertly made dog collars - one to our original specification and one to Peter's, but equally good, suggestion. It was all so easily organised and we are delighted with the results.
