As soon as I heard there was this platform for disabled people I jumped straight on.
Georgina has started such a brilliant thing as I found when I stopped working due to my disability I lost access to discounted sites like my BlueLight Card etc. So having this space for us has been a great find.
I hope more companies get on board and offer their discounts as well so that we have full access to stores and sites as able bodied people do.

Brilliant discounts which really help with the cost of disability!

I signed up for purpldsicounts.com thinking it would be a great way to save some money. However, once I was verified and signed up, I very quickly realised that there was very little that was relevant to my lifestyle in terms of discounts. The stores and other retailers are not ones I would use and even with the discount would still be more expensive than the shops I frequent.

So I decided to ask for a refund. Here's where I made the mistake. Being ADHD and suffering from the anxiety and depression that come hand in hand with that, I wanted to check if the discount codes actually worked on the retailers site so I clicked trough on two (Nomo chocolate and Dr Vegan supplements), as there were the only two I could find that seemed relevant to me. I didn't make a purchase, I just wanted to check that the Purpldiscounts.com service I paid for worked.

Having just clicked trough meant that I was now not entitled to a refund. I joined at 23:30 and sent an email requesting the cancelation and refund at 23:46.

Disappointingly, I received an email today saying no, I could not have a refund, and pointing me to the T&C's.

I responded requesting that someone use some discretion in this instance because they are dealing with disabled and potentially vulnerable people, as is their chosen business operating model, but was again refused because I had "Used the service" even though I made no purchases and was only a member for 16 minutes.

I responded again, asking for someone to use some discretion as human error and misunderstanding occur and was again refused.

Please be aware of this when signing up, especially if like me your condition causes you anxiety, as my experience with the customer service team today has left me feeling flat, and idiotic, although, I have to be clear, they were polite throughout the interaction, albeit curt and impersonal.

As clearly stated in the emails purpldiscounts.com is a "business",

Who in my opinion would rather hold on to your money, than use a more human and considered approach when dealing with people who are disabled, sick and potentially vulnerable.

If you are on low income like myself, I would advise you to be very careful when signing up, as like I mentioned previously, the majority of the discounts and retailers will not be relevant to you.

I was made aware about purpl discounts from a friend of mine, and decided to sign up. My diagnosis is all done online and I struggled to prove my disability with a hard copy, or with benefits evidence as I keep getting rejected for them. However, a lovely advisor named Jess was amazing. I was getting very frustrated because I was unable to meet the requirements, and just gave up. But she way above and beyond to make it happen, and after exchanging emails throughout the day, Jess was able to verify my disability manually. This gave me a warm feeling because I get rejected everywhere else. I work full time, I drive, and I am a single mother, but I’m also combined adhd, autistic, and I have emotionally unstable personality disorder. I struggle in silence because these types of disabilities are just not important enough. But Jess heard me, she listened, and she do everything she could to help me. She deserves a lot of recognition for this, and I’m eternally grateful. Thank you!

I really love this company it is great. Who doesn't love a discount lol. The staff there are amazing and so friendly and helpful. Ive had an issue and it got sorted right away. I wish I knew the person's name so I could mention him/her for recognition. Overall this is the best website I've come across for a long time. Its easy to use website, the amazing discounts, and the friendly helpful staff. Give it a try u might like it and u got nothing to loose.

The 10% Morrisons discount is excellent! I’ve saved hundreds using this website. I made the fee back in savings within my first week.

I’m so glad I found Purpl Discounts. As a relatively newly disabled person I’ve found the cost of living with disabilities to be very difficult. Finding Purpl has been a lifesaver. From food shops to replacing appliances, I’ve been able to use my discount codes in so many shops. I’ve saved a lot of money already and I’ve been singing their praises every chance I get. If you are disabled, do join. It’s worth the membership fees ten-fold.

Brilliant website . I only came across it by chance and I’m so glad that I did . I joined earlier this year just before the criteria changed and there was now an annual fee ( £4. 75 or around this price ) . Even so I was given my first year free which was great then I will pay after the twelve months have passed . The codes are so easy to use as is the website for Purpl . I use quite a few of the discounts Iceland , look fantastic, Morrisons . The list of retailers where you can use the codes is quite impressive and is getting longer by the day . I rely on online shopping , my mobility isn’t good , now I always check purpl when I want to buy . Cannot praise this site enough the savings are great ! Thankyou Georgina and the team .😊

Purpl, by and large, are a great organisation for the disabled, which has answered the call of those people who have been crying out for a helping hand with the cost of living crisis.

As far as I know, they are essentially one of the few organisations out there, that are beginning to support the disabled community against how costly our daily living expenses can be.

It appears to me that they don’t just simply want to be just another discount code site, but somewhere that the disabled in the UK can feel a part of something and feel more involved.

Whilst I applaud them for doing this, and hope that they continue on down this path whilst also providing some much needed discounts along the way, I do feel that they may have jumped the gun slightly by introducing a subscription fee so early on after their inception.

My thoughts on this, is that maybe they should have waited to become more established first before hitting the community that they support with that payment.

One of the complaints that is levelled at Purpl, is that there aren’t enough discounts for essential goods and items.

Morrisons is a good example of what they need to do more of going forward, and I myself hope that they will be able to gather together more of the big name supermarkets for discount purposes further on down the line.

To counterbalance all of this, of course, is that, I’m not privy to their financial situation, and it may have been necessary to introduce the fee to help keep the site and all it has to offer going.

Also, at £9.99 a year, I would say that this is a nominal amount that can be afforded by most, and their statement of intent to improve the lives of the disabled by not just providing discounts bodes well for the future.

I really hope that the fee doesn’t put as many people off as it might do, as I believe that what they are doing, and intending to do to help support the disabled community is something that I find encouraging.

I found out about purpl through a motability magazine in May, I'd never heard of it before. i searched through what was available, not much that I could save money on but I could save some from Morrisons so I signed up. Within a month the sign-up criteria changed and there was now going to be a fee per year (£4.99 early bird or £10 thereafter), I was given a free first year as an incentive to join. My thoughts were have the year free and then re-evaluate, although I'm already quids in changing from Asda to Morrisons for my main shopping, I now order the cheapest from whichever shop Inc discount. As long as I still get the 10% discount upto £12 each shop then I'll continue to use purpl. Unfortunately I'm yet to find other codes useful as I don't wear makeup, we don't get fast food delivery here, I get free glasses and prescriptions, I can apply for white goods through a trust, I'm housebound and rely on everything coming to me so that rules out holidays. It has been useful though just to get a little discount from Morrisons, if only all supermarkets would do the same. Iceland won't deliver to me unless I go shop there first which kinda defeats the object of home shopping.

What a great idea to help disabled people with the offers that you provide. I can’t thank you enough it’s been such a help with my grocery shopping. Due to my health I need to have my shopping delivered. With your offer codes it makes my shopping delivery free.
The way you have kept us informed about the pip etc has been a life line. I was so worried at the time, I know without your updates, explained perfectly, I feel it would have personally affected my mental and physical health.

A great savings on lots of different types and products absolutely helps disabled individuals so pleased with the site

I love Purpl!! I have only recently joined and I find the discounts are for products I actually use, unlike other sites which seem to focus on holiday & electronics discounts.
I use the Morrisons codes regularly as my daughter is gluten-free so that helps to offset the increase in her food, and I noticed today that there is a discount on Pharmacy2U which will be great for my medications!! I feel that Purpl are working really hard to negotiate discounts on products that disabled people actually buy, plus it's all in one place so no need to spend time faffing about on different sites.

The Morrisons discount is great. Buying certain products and food for my daughter is sometimes more expensive but having the discount helps. We have also successfully used it on a couple of other sites. The only downside is that often a brand offer a code, at sale or promotion time. Usually you can’t use a code on a promotion product so there are times it doesn’t work.

This is an excellent site, saving money on many things needed or would like to have in the future. I've saved £'s already with various savings on food, trains, everyday essentials. Not only money saving but Purpldiscounts team are striving towards making the world a bit easier for disabled people. Keep up the great work and a huge thankyou from me to you all. ☆☆☆☆☆♡♡♡♡♡

I highly recommend joining purple discounts for anybody with a disability it has partnerships with a wide range of vendors and can save disabled people hundreds of pounds per year.

Update - The owner contacted me and who was extremely helpful and apologetic. She provided a detailed explanation regarding the issue with the offer, reported the support form fault to her technical team, and requested the addition of an email address for direct contact.

I appreciate the quick response, and the fact that she eventually admitted that it was not me that it was an agency issue with the offer. I will give them another chance and can hopefully raise my review to 5 stars.

My wife just joined and decided to purchase the Wonky Coffee offer to save 25% of all products, she was disappointed to discover that the link to save 25% takes you through to a different page from their normal website, however the pricing is identical to their standard prices and there's no discount applied at all. It now makes me wonder if she just wasted money that she does not really have on a Purpl membership. She also tried to contact them through their support page (no phone number) and no matter how many times she tried it kept producing an error and would not submit the request.

I joined purpldiscounts after seeing details about them online. For someone who's disability has come on unexpectedly and ferociously, and having no cure, I was suddenly thrown into an area, I knew nothing about. I joined purpldiscounts, and I'm so happy I did. I've used quite a few of the discounts for places Georgina has negotiated, and I'm thrilled with the money I've saved, food, clothes, toiletries, shoes, and more. It's a blessing when you are suddenly plunged into the confusing world of benefits, and every penny is accounted for. The group is great for information, advice and support. I've had many questions answered whilst I navigate my 'new normal '. Everyone is so kind, and have a wealth of knowledge to share. Georgina works tirelessly to advocate for the disabled, and has secured discounts for us from an enormous amount of places. Its an excellent site, and, as far as I know, the only one to do so. I highly recommend them, it's an excellent source of ideas, and discounts for people with any form of disability
