Uppal Plastic Surgery Reviews 

I am writing this review to express my disappointment with the rhinoplasty surgery performed by Mr. Uppal, as well as the overall level of care I received. Initially, I wrote a positive review on Trust Pilot shortly after my surgery, incentivized by the offer of a £50 Amazon voucher. As a 19-year-old student at the time, I hastily wrote that review without fully recovering or digesting the experience.

My initial consultations with Mr. Uppal felt rushed and impersonal, lasting only a few minutes each. At the time, I overlooked these hurried interactions as I was young, naive and desperate to get the surgery done. Looking back now I feel that he did not take the necessary time to thoroughly understand my concerns and expectations.

Following the surgery, I encountered several serious issues. I developed a small septal perforation (hole in septum), and one of my nostrils became so inflamed that I can barely breathe through it (and still can’t 3/4 years later). My overall breathing has deteriorated significantly, forcing me to rely on breathing through my mouth. Visually, my nose remains extremely swollen and wonky, far from the results I had hoped for.

I attempted to address these issues in a follow-up consultation a year or two post-surgery, only to have Mr. Uppal not show up for the virtual appointment. Despite spending £50 for the consultation, no refund was offered. Mr. Uppal later suggested a audio phone call, which I felt was inadequate for conveying my concerns. So I detailed the issues I was experiencing over email (with several images), only to receive what felt like a brief response informing me there was nothing of concern.

Recently, I noticed that my nose bridge has begun to droop at the site of the perforation, which has exacerbated my worries. When I sought another consultation, I was a bit taken back by the increased fee of £150. I emailed Mr. Uppal requesting a reduced fee due to the complications arising from the initial surgery but have yet to receive any response almost two months later.

I am deeply disheartened by the lack of post-surgical care and support. While I understand the inherent risks of surgery, the rushed consultations and inadequate follow-up care have left me feeling neglected and undervalued as a patient. I cannot, in good conscience, recommend Mr. Uppal based on my experience.

I first broke my nose in 2009, followed by a second break just ten weeks ago. The dual impact on my breathing and confidence was significant, and I knew I needed expert help. From the moment I had my face-to-face appointment with Mr. Uppal, I felt reassured and understood. He spoke to me in depth about the effects of my injuries, not only on my physical health but also on my self-esteem.

Mr. Uppal conducted a thorough assessment to determine if rhinoplasty was the right option for me. He was diligent and meticulous, taking the time to photograph my nose and even providing edited images to show potential results. This visual aid was incredibly helpful in setting my expectations and building my confidence in the procedure.

I had actually researched septorhinoplasty about five years ago and wrote Mr. Uppal's name down on my phone, but I lacked the confidence to go ahead with the surgery. Looking back, I wish I had done it earlier.

The experience with Mr. Uppal’s assistant, Dina, was equally positive. Dina managed all the logistical and payment processes efficiently and was always available on the phone to answer my questions. Her personable approach made the entire process smooth and stress-free.

My second consultation included my wife, during which Mr. Uppal showed her the projected results and addressed our further questions. This collaborative approach was very reassuring for both of us.

On the day of surgery, everything was impressively calm and efficient. I arrived at 8 am, and there was minimal waiting. Both Mr. Uppal and the anaesthetist, Jill Pattison, took the time to see me before the procedure, which helped alleviate any last-minute nerves. The anaesthetic process was surprisingly relaxed and stress-free. Immediately after the surgery, I was well looked after by the nurses (I believe the primary nurse was Ashwini) Clearly, Mr. Uppal has a great team behind this operation.

The results have been nothing short of fantastic. My confidence has soared, and the aftercare provided by Mr. Uppal has been exemplary. We've had numerous video calls where he meticulously checked my progress, asking for regular photos to monitor my healing. The swelling was far less than I expected and began reducing quickly.

For the first time in over 10 years, I can breathe through my nose properly. This has been life-changing. No longer do I walk into a room and worry about where to sit to hide the bend and bump in my nose.

Overall, my experience with Mr. Uppal and his team has been outstanding. The professional, caring, and efficient service has made a profound impact on my life. I highly recommend Mr. Uppal for anyone considering septorhinoplasty.

Really happy with my nose 5 weeks post surgery, it’s still sore but healing well. My procedure went well and the aftercare/follow up appointments with Mr Uppal have been very efficient and informative.

From start to finish I received an exceptional experience, service, and amazing results. I had a septorhinoplasty which I have needed for many years but put off for several reasons, one being I did not find it easy to find a trusted surgeon but when I found Dr Uppal who was highly recommended to me, I decided to go for it and could not be happier.

Dr Uppal has a very kind, friendly and reassuring manner. My reasons for this procedure was mostly to improve my breathing, therefore it was important that there was not a noticeable difference in the way I looked. I am only 1 month post op and people who know me have indeed not noticed! There is still some swelling and I am looking forward to the final result. Dr Uppal is a keen listener and every time we have spoken he has been invested in me. Dina, his assistant is also really lovely, personable and kind.
The administration and communication could have been better. I was left unclear if the operation was going ahead at one point and did not receive the information until close to the date. Messages are not always responded to within 24 hours. However, everything went as planned in the end and ultimately Dr Uppal is an experienced and talented surgeon so I am happy, as well as confident that if I needed anything his team would do their utmost to support, with integrity. I feel comfortable in recommending his services and would return if I needed anything in the future, which is the best validation of what he does! For those considering, be prepared for a rough first week of recovery, but it truly gets easier and easier, day by day. I was also not in a lot of pain. Thank you.

Choosing Mr Rajan Uppal to carry out my procedure was the best choice for me. The service provided by Mr Uppal and his team has been fantastic. He is a well respected and world renowned surgeon. Mr R Uppal is very friendly, attentive, focused, caring and safety is a top priority. Mr Uppal encouraged me to ask questions and flag any concerns which I may have. Additionally, the wattsapp chat which Mr Uppal creates for his patients is a bonus and he has always responded to my messsges asap. It has been >6 months since the surgery (Sept 2023) and I am very happy with the results so far, though I had been advised it may take up to a year before the swelling fully subsides, so I’m looking forward to seeing further improvements. If anyone is considering Rhino/Septoplasty, I would highly recommend Mr Rajan Uppal, who is an expert in his field.

There was no fuss in getting from consultation to surgery because Mr Uppal made me feel super assured from the get go. The pre-op procedures were great. The in-patient experience was second to none and the aftercare provided - not just by the hospital but Mr Uppal himself. I felt super confident with him from day1 and his impeccable aftercare was great. The fact that I can contact my consultant any time I need, to me is an alien concept! It felt personal as opposed to a factory process! Super happy with my experience and mightily impressed with the other avenues that Uppal plastic surgery offers. His research into other areas is impressive. Highly recommend a no fuss, no muss procedure. Obviously paid more than I would if I went to Turkey! But you can’t put a price on health, particularly aftercare from major surgery!

I have breast augmentation with Mr Uppal and from the get go, he gave me confidence and assurance about exactly what was going to happen Pre, post, during and after. Felt completely safe in his hands the whole time. His unique style of aftercare is unheard of and has always been there to support. Following a rhinoplasty last week, I’d like to say thank you to Mr Uppal and his team. The dressings were removed today and there is such an improvement.
