Lots of communication emails, it’s so good to get consistent contact so you know what’s going on. I can’t praise Lauren enough ! When I contacted her for assistance she responded almost instantly with exactly what I needed. Absolute star ! Lauren is also incredibly friendly in person, she really helped put me at ease before the interviews started.

Aftercare is really helpful, as whenever we write an email with our queries regarding the holiday pay hours or need to book an holiday, they are responding realy good, had a good experience with Rudolf from aftercare was responding with kind and helpful way. Handled and resolved the query really well.

ranstad payroll team are a shambles !! Waiting nearly 3 months for them to issue a P45!! I am currently paying emergency tax on my new job because they are absolutely Useless!!

Absolutely pathetic company. We fill out time sheets so we are doing the hardwork for them. How many hours did you work? 39 normal hours 13 hours overtime. Ok we will pay you 39 hours?🤔. How many hours at normal pay?? 39 then 13 hours at 1.5 hours pay rate ok we will pay you for 39. Then you tell them it's wrong ok so your normal hours we will tax you 132 pounds on 705 pounds. Fine ok no problem but the 330 pounds overtime we will charge you 105 pounds. Wtf??? This happens regularly with this company absolutely pathetic STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY UNlESS YOU WANT TO BE RIPPED OFF. The payroll use abacus to work your wages out as they can't count past more than 10. Bad is an understatement as this happens on a regular basis. Holidays where is work we get 6 hours a week and I'm not 100 percent sure if they start in the middle of January or at the end. Yet somehow I've only earned 7 hours since January till now and worked every week. PATHETIC COMPANY THIS IS PEOPLES LIVES YOUR MESSING WITH. I CAN GUARANTEE THEIR WAGES WONT BE WRONG EVERY WEEK.IF IT WASN'T FOR PEOPLE LIKE ME YOU WOULDN'T HAVE A WAGE. AGAIN ABSOLUTE SHAMBLES OF A COMPANY.

Signed up 2023 dec. Got one shift at a place where they couldn’t care less. Was treated badly and I complained to Randstad who did nothing.I continuously complained due to no work being offered this was the Plymouth branch.Following that I chased for work up until Feb 2024! No call backs no email response just when I did talk to them excuses. Tons of excuses . I’d get the odd phone call to inform me there was a new app for them.I asked for my p45 February 2025 which took 3 weeks to get as clearly the branch is completely disorganized. Thankful to leave this absolute joke of an agency. Today 10th March 2025 I get a phone call asking what my availability is… I told them what I thought of Randstad and that i won’t ever endorse them or their complete incompetence. Close this company down it’s a joke!

I had a very disappointing experience with Randstad in Plymouth. I applied for a Production Operative role in a medical devices manufacturing company and was selected based on my CV. The position was clearly stated to be on a “continuous days” shift pattern (3 days on, 3 days off). I was invited to attend an induction, which I did on the scheduled date, and was then asked to confirm my start date. At the time, I was still employed elsewhere, but based on the assurance given during the induction, I handed in my resignation the same day and informed Randstad of my availability the following day.
To my surprise, I was then told that the originally discussed shift pattern (continuous days) was no longer available. Instead, I was asked to choose between “continuous nights” or “standard days”—both of which were not suitable for me. I raised my concerns immediately, but unfortunately, I received no meaningful response or support. Despite multiple attempts to follow up via phone calls, I was met with silence. This experience caused unnecessary stress, financial loss, and left me without a job due to poor communication and mismanagement on their part. I would not recommend Randstad Plymouth based on this experience.

Today we discuss how Randstad is actually illegal with their employees. They do not follow AWR which gives workers more rights and pay after 12 weeks. They are dishonest and the worst agency around. Try teaching personnel, they’re much more up front and honest. This place will take your money and refuse to talk to you. They damage the reputation of the schools they work at by making up lies to tell their agency staff stating the school has said this which the schools never do. Once the school finds out, by people like me who dislike bullies like Randstad, they distance themselves very quickly. Do yourself a favour, if they say “the school said” speak to the school directly and ask them as you are allowed to. You will be amazed how many times they will back you up against your agency like this one.
Avoid at all costs and if you do work for them, and been in the same role for more than 12 weeks, you are entitled to be paid the same as someone who is permanent. They won’t tell you this though so remember ACAS is your friend and they are a free advice place to help against bullies and thieves like Randstad. Mark Heselwood, Joseph Ledbury, Bethany Wingfield, are all dishonest. Do not trust this company. They underpay people for fun and after 3 months minus a day, they legally get to keep your money. Be advised and be warned. Approach at your own peril.

I have lost trust in this company. I have applied multiple times for positions that match my skills and interests, yet each time, I receive an email stating that I have failed the test—even when I am confident that I performed well.
On one occasion, I passed all the tests and interviews. I even received multiple emails stating that I would be contacted soon to start the job. However, in the end, I was removed from the hiring pool without any explanation.
It makes me wonder whether age or nationality played a role in this decision. I have tried reaching out to the company for clarification, but no one has responded. Instead, I was only given the option to leave a voice message.
This lack of transparency and communication is disappointing.
