On the 2nd of February when you took my order, there is no doubt in my mind that you no ability or intention of fulfilling that order and yet you still took my money. I've since found that you've been pursued by the CCPC for more than a year for regularly not fulfilling orders and not refunding customers. This is not a once off issue and shows the lack of regard you hold your customers in.
ORIGINAL COMMENT: Rathwood took an order, said it would be delivered within 20 business days. 30 business days later, I contacted customer support who told me they could not give me a delivery date. I then asked for a refund and was told it would take 10 business days to receive. We're now past 10 business days and no refund has arrived.
This company is clearly taking money for products they don't have and have no intention or capability of fulfilling the order. Avoid.

This company should be avoided at all cost as they will leave you out of pocket that's a guarantee ordered a pallet of fire wood last August on there pay and wait order which was supposed to save me a few Euro now nearly 8 months later and 330 euro lighter after email after email and promise of a refund they have now gone bump and will no longer be giving refunds but on the website it looks like you can still order garden furniture and sheds stay away this is a really bad company should not be able to still trade

I ordered firewood last July, having previously had no issues with this company, and chose the “wait and save” option for delivery in October. Immediately on the customer portal, the delivery was pushed back to November. I wasn’t initially concerned about the delay, but kept an eye on the portal for updates. I then received an email at the end of November asserting that a shipment had arrived in Dublin, from which my order would be fulfilled. This did not happen. My alarm increased over the Christmas period when I realised the customer portal was no longer accessible. I finally cancelled the order on the 9th of January, and received confirmation of this and a promise of a refund on the 12th. I have rung repeatedly in the intervening months about the status of my refund. In March I was told that they didn’t have my IBAN. I duly provided this. Next time I rang, I was made a laughable offer of store credit. Finally, today, the truth emerges. Rathwood will not be refunding the money owed to customers. They have lied and stolen people’s money. This has been the most grotesque customer experience I have ever had. The declaration that they will continue to trade as normal is galling. Anyone who would do business with Rathwood at this point would have to be as delusional as they clearly are themselves.

My issue began in early 2025 when I ordered garden furniture for delivery end of May 2025. Even though I had paid in full, as the delivery date got closer, it kept being pushed back every few weeks. When I heard that Arnotts had cancelled their contract with them, I decided to drive to Carlow from my home in Dublin, to get my refund. I told the assistant I was not leaving without proof of my refund, which I got. That was Summer 2025. Here we are again, in April 2026 and they are spewing out the same tripe, e.g. an issue with their main supplier..... Now they are in Examinership, trading 'as usual' and no refunds. I feel so sorry for the decent staff. Seems like the younger family members have run the company into the ground.

Based on today's statement by Rathwood that they will continue trading but are not in a position to pay refunds I call on the public to boycott this abhorrent company.
How they are permitted to continue trading is beyond belief.
ONCE MORE Rathwood are questioning my validity as their customer giving me three days to prove myself before they remove my review.
These two boyos may have zero moral compass but they win my first prize for HARD NECK.
I already supplied my order numbers to Rathwood- do a bit of work and look them up.

25th April 2026, Rathwood, the Carlow-based homes and garden centre, has gone into examinership, and will not be issuing any more refunds owed to customers who placed orders that were never delivered until the process is complete.
In a statement published on its website, the company said it would continue to trade as normal during the examinership process.
Initiate a transaction dispute with your payment provider today, before your money is lost forever.

Order delays and lack of transparency
I placed an order for a bunk bed for my two children on 21 January 2026. The initial order was cancelled after I was informed the item had been damaged in transit. Rathwood then offered a similar replacement bed, which was slightly more expensive, at no additional cost. I accepted this alternative in February.
Since then, I have repeatedly been told that my order would arrive on the next shipment from the UK. However, the company has been unable to provide any clear or reliable updates, citing a lack of information from their warehouse. While delays can happen, the ongoing lack of transparency and certainty is unacceptable.
It is particularly concerning that the company continues to take payment from customers despite not being in a position to fulfil orders within a reasonable timeframe. Based on my experience, I would strongly advise others to consider alternative retailers.

Zero customer service
Ordered and paid for two chairs in December. Delivery was due early January. No correspondence regarding a delay. Sent an email to customer service in February. Still no response to my email and still no chairs. Now April, I sent another email requesting a full refund. No response, yet, to my request for a refund.

Avoid avoid avoid, July 2025 I purchased garden furniture which had a new delivery date weekly never arrived it took months to get a refund with hit & miss communication.
2026 I stupidly ordered another set of garden furniture which was due for dispatch on 28 March, yet again no dispatch no communication. no reply to calls, emails. I had to get my bank to do a reverse charge to get my money back.
A disgraceful company to deal with.
Awful experience
Awful experience. Ordered a bed on the 6th of Jan. delivery was pushed out multiple times with various excuses. Eventually cancelled my order and am still waiting on my refund. Disgraceful. I have called them so many times to be told that I will get my refund. I’ve been emailed to say it’s cancelled and yet they still have my money. Refund still hasn’t been issued. Shame on you. I’ll never do business with them again.

I was inrerested about few items in Rathwood but was not sure its good idea to spend over 3000 when I was reading so many bad rewievs. I decided to order a shoe cabinet and see. I placed my order 27th of February (RW12249). Till today I didnt get it. I was in touch many times by chat and over phone calls. Honestly I have enough of excuses. Delivery is delayed, warehouse doesnt work on Fridays, shopping team not answering, it looks in system like parcel will be dispatched soon etc. Customer service team is very kind but it doesnt change situation. Most funny is a fact shoe cabinet is available with possible delivery in a few days on the webpage. I was thinking to ask about refund but it looks I will be happy to get my money back around Christmas. Very dissapointing experience.

I have bought many items from this supplier over the years, however, it seems they have lost their minds, their reputation, and all sense of customer service in the last year or so. They promised me a refund on an undelivered order but now ignore all contact. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.

I ordered garden furniture in Januay and opted for the wait and save with a delivery date 7th April. In March ut updated that the expected delivery date would be June. I wasn't happy with that date so contacted customer service and cancelled my order and requested a refund. A member of their customer service confirmed my order was cancelled and the refund request was sent to the accounts department. Numerous phone calls and emails later and still no sign of my refund and no communication. I would advise anyone to never buy from this company as they take your money and leave you fighting for weeks and months to get your money back. Disgraceful!

I ordered a Scooter for my daughter on the 16th of December it was a Christmas present. Waited nearly 2 months for it to come then to be told it was damaged in transit. That’s not even the worst it’s now nearly May and I still have no refund after ringing about 20 times to request one. To date I keep being told they will pass the request onto the accountant. I’m actually feed up now at this stage. I’m so close to going further about this for the pain and suffering they are causing me. They were quick enough to take my money. They are an absolute disgrace of a company and I would highly recommend never ordering anything from them. So many bad reviews we all can’t be wrong guys.
