I purchased a Ravenheat condenser boiler way back in 2004. When I first had it it would cycle on and off, turned out to be the pilot jet flame not being as tall as it should be. One pin later (sewing... See more

Stay clear

Stay clear - only awarding one star as I can't leave zero. Terrible product, terrible technical service - just avoid at all costs. I've had trouble since a week after it was fitted and since then I've been to six different heating engineers (including one recommended by the company). All of them think so little of the brand that it's difficult to get them to return once they've been out to look at it. I've replaced untold parts and still keep getting the same error message. Only had it just over three years and, after all the money I've spent on parts and labour during this time, I'm going to get it ripped out and a new one fitted. Good riddance to bad rubbish. I cannot wait to never have to deal with this company again.

It's a shame you can't put a minus

It's a shame you can't put a minus, these clowns don't care about the customers / landlords they do everything not to send a engineer out, expect everyone to do all the running around, have service department that is worst then useless the guy is abrupt and dam rude, raises his voice as if he's some kind of idiot who think's he knows it all yet knows nothing, got directors that don't care a service manager that is as bad as the rest of the staff totally unhelpful. They don't care about customer or tenants well been just buy our crap boilers and when there's a problem sit on the phone for hours waiting to get through and get some obnoxious fool on the end clueless and the service manager thinks that's wonderful service. Read the reviews guys. I have informed my landlord forum and friends and social media, BBC/Watchdog to investigate this as they are willing to put tenants lives at risk and don't really care just by there shocking attitude, a new born baby at a house was left with no heating or hot water since Friday RAVEN HEAT don't care what happens as long as you buy a crappy boiler and then don't ask for help they would rather your tenants die then send someone out, anything to save on costs by not sending engineers out. Spend a little more get a professional company like Bosch, worcester, ideal,Valiant many more choices then this crap product that will breakdown shorty before the guarantee period or just after then they will be no help. Guys buy there boilers if you are crazy but don't expect reliability because they don't last when it breaks buy a new one, because they won't send a engineer out under any circumstances. AVOID THERE BOILERS LIKE THE PLAQUE.

A remarkably well designed boiler ...

Interesting to read the negative reviews.
I bought a CS80 for about £450 inc VAT three months ago for a one bedroom flat. I fitted it myself with a plumber - and was careful to flush the old radiators. I spent extra on a pipe and valves allowing me to flush and reverse flush the system without a hosepipe. And extra on a magnetic filter, a mini expansion vessel on the cold feed, and a mains powered coil system to help prevent the secondary heat exchanger getting firred up.
So far the boiler is working brilliantly ... ! It modulates down from 24kw to just 3.6kw - less than any boiler costing less than £2000 ...
It comes with a horizontal flue kit. It has a built in digital display with a built in clock/programmer. If you press the right buttons you can see the flow and return temperature, and the temperature of the secondary heat exchanger. You can set the temperature of the radiators and of the domestic hot water very easily in one degree increments - handy to set the temperature low enough to get the machine condensing - and saving money. Inside the machine there is more or less no plastic - it is all copper and brass. It is very very easy to get at everything - and the front and sides come off in 10 seconds. The pipes come out at back next to the wall, and each pipe has its own isolating valve.
The heat exchanger is alloy - made in Spain I think. The modulating pump is German. The machine is put together in Northern Italy in Ravenheat's own factory - I have watched a YouTube video of the copper pipes being cut and bent in an automatic machine, and the boilers being assembled. The electronics are in a sealed plastic box which hangs from a bracket in the centre lower front - it can be slid forward and lifted out of the way for the servicing or repair of the boiler - keeping it dry and out of harms way. Important. Useful.
You can reprogram quite a number of its settings - I reduced the maximum output for central heating to about 8kw - to keep the fan speed low and make it really quiet. The machine is compact and lightweight - and SHOULD be reliable ... ! If the heating water run through it is clean, and the tap water free from excessive chalk, and it is serviced every year or two, I don't see why it should not last 20 years ... or more ... it is incredibly simple and nearly all the sensors are digital and clipped on pipes externally. The interior of the case is incredibly well laid out and everything is very easy to get at - unlike some hugely more expensive boilers ... !
The diverter valve is about the only bit I expect to get gummed up or worn out - and you can change that in 10 seconds.
Fingers crossed - this could/should be a very good boiler! Remarkable value - apart from the magnetic filter, Fernox and scale protection device all you need to buy extra is a thermostat - as it comes with a balanced flue and time clock/programmer.

This C90T Ravenheat boiler broken down again

This C90T Ravenheat boiler installed in 2016 has broken down yet again.
This time it needed 2 new parts installed, another leak stopped and trouble with the condenser switch. What next???
So far it has cost me £561. in repairs and call out fees.

Its ok for installers to say how easy it is to install them but what about the paying customers that have to live with these unreliable boilers when you never know whether its going to work today or not. then after a few freezing cold days in January you realise its not going to start up again and you're going to have to call the engineer yet again.

Very poor quality boilers

Very poor quality boilers, we've had several problems all of which local plumbers have no idea how to fix. Also beware Ravenheat now refuse to service and repair your boiler unless you are local to leeds.

poor boiler poorer customer service

had my ravenheat boiler fitted January 2017. had it serviced 2018, 2019. even had a few leaks repaired onit 2019. was out of the country when it was due it's servicing in 2020 so missed the date. shortly after missing the date service date. the boiler stopped working completely. failing to ignite and upto 3 leaks found in the pipe work of the boiler. therefore i couldn't get it serviced. called ravenheat customer services about this problem. they didn't want to hear it as the boiler was out of warranty by 1 month. they didn't seem to care that their piece of kit which was just over 3 years old needed over £600 worth of repairs plus labour. I know have no heating in the house and i am having to move out my 3 year old daughter and pregnant wife until I can get a new boiler fitted on finance as I cannot afford the costs quoted to get my 3 year old boiler repaired.
I appreciate it was one month overdue on its service but I would really think twice if you were to think of installing such expensive unreliable equipment. this seem to care very little about the quality or there product even though it has 5 years warranty included.

HE98S a real quality combi boiler

Being an engineer fitting boilers from all manufacturers I can honestly say the new combi from Ravenheat is a masterpiece. The HE98S is a pleasure to fit, it’s nice and compact, lightweight and looks smart on the wall.

It’s ultra quiet when in operation and has good hot water performance.

All internal components are made from brass, copper and stainless steel unlike a lot of other so called premium brand products who use plastic composite internals.

If you need a new combi boiler I would certainly consider this boiler and it has a 5 year warranty as standard backed up by the best service department from any manufacturer.
