Great customer service

I've ordered a few items from here over the past year or two. On my most recent purchase of a pair of gloves I wasn't very happy with them after using them and a fault occured.

The team handled my concern with exceptional customer service and dealt with my issue professionally and efficiently.

It's reassuring to know that if I do have any issues with products the team are willing to resolve them. I'll definitely be ordering from here again and I highly recommend them.

Ordered a pair of boots which didn’t…

Ordered a pair of boots which didn’t fit well so sent them back via parcel force. After 3 weeks I hadn’t received a refund so tracked my parcel. It had been returned to the post office o sent it from with a note stating it had been refused by the receiving post office. I contacted woodlore who told me you MUST send it via Royal Mail or the post office will reject it, Sorry!! No mention of this on their website, so I then had to resend it costing me another £11. Poor returns service.

Please do accept our apologies for the issue you experienced in returning your order to us. Unfortunately, as expressed in our response email to you, the post office should have notified you that Parcelforce cannot deliver to PO Box addresses prior to them accepting the item. In a bid to avoid any further inconvenience to you and to aid your return, we swiftly tried to provide you with a pre-paid returns label, at which point unfortunately you informed us it was too late and that you had already re-sent the item through Royal Mail. Upon receiving the goods back from you we quickly moved to process a refund for you the same day.

Regarding our returns policy, this is now under review and is something we will look to update to ensure customers use Royal Mail or contact us if they wish to use another courier.

Once again please do accept our sincerest apologies for the difficulty you experienced in returning the goods to us.

Great products and service

My most recent purchase was a Gransfors splitting maul, which was delivered well-packed and lightning fast by Woodlore. I was pleased to see that my new axe carried a Ray Mears logo too - that’s a nice touch. I have made several purchases from them now over a period of time and each time I’ve found the staff friendly and helpful. I often find products in stock at Woodlore that are hard to find in stock elsewhere, and I like knowing that I am supporting good people rather than a huge faceless corporation like Amazon.

Brought a gfb small forest axe

Brought a gfb small forest axe. Price a couple of pounds cheaper however totally blunt so needs professional sharpening at an additional cost . I've 3 friends who have brought the same axe from other online retailers and all have been razor sharp. Massively disappointed as was really looking forward to using this tool buy can't find anywhere to sharpen it properly
Avoid disappointment and shop ( for tools at least) on other websites.
So just read response to my review. A chair leg would have had a better cutting edge than the axe I purchased. I could press firmly on the axe head with my thumb and not even a nick. In addition my complaint also concerned the fact that the axe appeared warped. A few friends of mine ,who also own gfb axes ,said said the ones they had purchased ( not from woodlore) were razor sharp and nowhere as warped as the axe.I am fairly new to trust pilot so I will try to upload the photos of the axe I sent to woodlore that prove how bad the axe I received was!!!
Have to agree with other negative comments about customer services. I was quite happy to move on and learn from the experience but the response from woodlore has genuinely made me incredibly angry. We could've left it woodlore and moved on. Now I will tell anyone who will listen not to use your company.. get the basics correct and don't patronise your customers!!!

Woodlore provide an amazing service

Woodlore provide an amazing service - incredibly helpful over the phone - offer excellent advice and they are the best shop for bushcraft that I have known. They went the extra mile and sorted everything out - my purchase was sent overnight and arrived by 8.30 the next morning. They really are the best........

Multimat Adventure 38 and Eagle 24 cm frying pan

This was my 3rd order from Malaysia within a 6 week period and I can honestly say the service has been superb each time with goods arriving between 4 and 8 days from placing my order. Quality of items purchased has been excellent. in the case of my Eagle 24 cm frying pan which was my second order from Woodlore, my ex wife liked it so much that I had to order another one for her ...and she doesn't do camping ! This, together with my Adventure mat 38 was my latest order which arrived last Friday. As soon as my order has been shipped I receive immediate advice of shipment from the team which is greatly appreciated. My Woodlore experience has been nothing short of excellent and I enjoy the friendly email customer relationship I am building with the team there . Thanks Ryan and Paul

Exceptional company.

I have ordered many products from Woodlore over the last few years and have always found the quality and selection of products to be of an exceptionally high standard. I always buy with confidence from them knowing the fact a product has been included on the site is an endorsement of its functionality and quality.
The Customer Service is in my opinion first rate with staff always on hand to offer expert and helpful advice in a timely and detailed fashion.
I have also been lucky enough to attend courses with Woodlore and seeing the ethos of the company first hand is a true privilege and I feel their overall mission statement, ethos, customer service, support, education, passion and product selection and supply all seamlessly combine to provide a truly unique and holistically exceptional service.

Great Customer Service and Great Products

This is the third purchase I have made from Woodlore. Every time I have found the customer service to be excellent, going above and beyond. The product I purchased, a Granfurs Bruks, arrived relatively quickly to Eastern Europe and was able to be tracked. Would not hesitate to buy from Woodlore and the Ray Mears crew again.

Laughable customer service

Laughable customer service, they said an order was shipped, then argued 'shipped' doesn't mean shipped. Then when my autistic boyfriend called to complain about this and how ambiguous the website is, was first told it was IMPOSSIBLE to send it that day, and being autistic he clarified IMPOSSIBLE. Then he was told the manager was unavailable, so he kicked up a fuss and got to talk to the director, who then offered to send it the same day, but when my finance said he would leave a bad review, the director refused to send the order. Anything on this site can be ordered elsewhere and given how they treat people, (telling an autistic person he is overreacting because he wants to leave a bad reveiw, after being lied to many times) I would suggest buying from anywhere but here.

We are very sorry to hear that you were not happy with our service. At Woodlore, we take great pride in providing first class service along with our products.

When selling bladed items, by law we must confirm that the purchaser is over 18 before they are dispatched. Our website states this on every bladed item page and on our checkout page. After you placed your order with us, we emailed you three times to inform you of this and to request ID, apologising for any inconvenience each time. We are sorry that you found our website ambiguous; we will review this.

Once we had received ID from you, we offered to go above our normal level of service and send your order out after our post collection times. We also asked if there was anything else we could do for you to help resolve this matter. This gesture was dismissed with accusations of lying and an intention of leaving a bad review before you had even received your order. Discussions ended with the offer of dispatching the order that day or cancelling it. You accepted the offer of a cancellation and refund. This was processed immediately.

We are very sorry if any information and subsequent information given caused upset or confusion. Our intention was to try and resolve the situation in the best way possible and to be accused of lying many times is upsetting and unjust.

Just ordered a hat for my Buffalo fibre…

Just ordered a hood for my Buffalo fibre pile pertex jacket. Hard item to find in olive green in XL. Finally found Woodlore had one, with the black pile lining though not the olive green I was really after. Price good here too, and even with four pounds postage it's still comparatively very good value. Just waiting now for my item to come. Website easy to navigate and informative. Raymond's site actually has a lot of best prices going where Buffalo outdoors kit is concerned. This is considered old school outdoors kit these days, I know. But I've had Buffalo kit for over 35 years now. One old jacket still going strong.

Buffalo hood in XL arrived in post safely. Survived postman pushing it through my door letter box, happily. Second order into Woodlore now. For the fibre pile mitts in green to match the top.

Wood lore belt pouch

Amazing quality leather belt pouch. Clearly going to last a life time. I have a similar pouch which is designed to take a tobacco tin which is really useful, just pull the tin out and you have access to your bits and bobs. The RM pouch is slightly larger, fortunately I found a tin that fits so I can utilise the extra space. At about £3.00 I think it would make the belt pouch much more useful if a fitted interior tin came as part of the pouch. If you don’t want it, don’t use it, if you do it makes the pouch much more usable.

Several items ordered over last year, no issues/returns required, would order from them again.

Bought several items over the last year, all good stuff & no issues with any goods received and delivery time. Only minor quibble recently being, not being notified goods in the post/on there way. It was a combined relatively high value package to me & it just turned up (the positive, it being delivered quicker than expected) just lucky someone was about to receive it.
Aside from that, would definitely order from them again.
